FORMER Bayern Munich star Didi Hamann wants his old club to be punished for fielding 12 players at the weekend.The German demanded the “mistake must be punished” as Bayern played on with 12 men for 20 seconds against Freiburg.

The incident happened when defender Niklas Sule was brought onto the pitch to replace the already departed Corentin Tolisso, before a switch between Kingsley Coman and Marcel Sabitzer could take place.
Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann claimed that the mistake had nothing to do with the overall 4-1 result.
He added that it was a fault with the scoreboard, as Coman wore 29 instead of his new number 11.

“There is no question in my mind that it must be punished.”
Bayern could see them stripped of the points with Freiburg potentially given the win instead.
DFB rules state: “If a player is not entitled to play or to field a game, the team that culpably fielded this player loses the game 0-2 and the opponent wins 2-0, unless the match has not been restarted by the referee after the player who is ineligible to play has been fielded.”

GERMAN footballer Marco Meyerhofer was stretchered from the field after suffering a gruesome ankle injury on Saturday, with pictures of the incident not for the fainthearted. The horrific incident came after the Greuther Furth right-back was caught in a tangle with Eintracht Frankfurt man Jens Petter Hauge.

Meyerhofer fell on top of Hauge, but his right leg got caught under the Norwegian international.
Hauge’s entire bodyweight then landed on Meyerhofer’s leg, causing his knee to twist painfully.
But even more horrifically Meyerhofer’s ankle dislocated so graphically his bone ripped out of position and was visible through the defender’s sock.
The injury was so gruesome Hauge immediately broke down in tears upon seeing the damage.

After medics rushed to tend to Meyerhofer on the field, he was stretchered off with his head in his hands.
The brave defender gave a thumbs up as he was met with applause from the crowd at the Waldstadion in Frankfurt while being carted off the pitch.

He was taken to a local hospital where he underwent surgery and spent the night, but is now expected to be out of action for a substantial period of time following the “serious ankle injury”.
To make matters worse, German outlet Bild report Meyerhofer’s wife Katharina and his parents were in the stands and witnessed the entire incident.
