MANCHESTER CITY have joined the race to sign RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol, according to reports.The Sky Blues are on the hunt for a new full-back following the departure of Oleksandr Zinchenko, who joined Arsenal in a £32million move last month.

Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella was originally at the top of Pep Guardiola’s transfer wishlist, but City were not willing to pay the £50m asking price set by The Seagulls.
As a result, club chiefs have now started to consider alternative options.
And according to German outlet Bild, they have already bid £66m for Gvardiol.
The club had been interested in signing the 20-year-old Croatia international for a long time before committing to a bid.

However, RB Leipzig have reportedly knocked back the offer with no intention of selling him.
Gvardiol made his Bundesliga debut for The Red Bulls in August 2021 and has since made 29 league appearances.
He scored two goals and assisted two during his first season in Germany’s top division, helping RB Leipzig to a top-four finish.
His impressive form has seen him attract the interest of some of Europe’s top club’s, including Man City.

But, Chelsea are also known to be interested in a potential swoop.

Lewandowski was back in Munich this morning to say goodbye to the club.
He posted a photo on his Instagram page of himself alongside the major titles he had won.
During his eight seasons at Bayern he won eight league titles, three DFP Pokal trophies, five DFL-Supercups, one Champions League, one Super Cup and one Club World Cup.
On an individual level he won the league’s player of the year twice, top scorer six times, Europe’s Golden Shoe twice and he was named Ballon d’Or Striker of the Year in 2021.

The 33-year-old forced a move to Barcelona and despite his successes at the Bundesliga champions he is now very unpopular.
On his way out he was heckled by Bayern fans who shouted “Hala Madrid” at him, the chant sung by fans of Barca’s rivals Real Madrid.

Speaking on ITV while covering Jurgen Klopp’s side 3-1 win in the Community Shield final over Man City, Keane took a swipe at the Senegalese winger.
He said: “Who’s that, Mane?”
Clearly the outspoken Irishman thinks Liverpool will not miss their former player too much having strengthened their attack this year with Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez.
The Uruguyan striker, Nunez, has pressure on his shoulders following an £85million move from Benfica.

But after netting his first goal for the club versus City, Keane is confident he can shine at Anfield.
He said: “It’s about getting that first goal under belt. [He’s] up and running.”
Nunez has big shoes to fill in replacing Mane as part of Liverpool’s front three after the 30-year-old won six trophies at the club scoring 120 goals.
But signs are positive especially as his pre-season form has been good netting four goals in one match.

In a statement on the clubs website, Forest confirmed Mangala has signed a long-term contract at the City Ground.

CHELSEA have been rejected in their attempts to sign RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol, according to reports.The Blues remain in the market to sign a central defender and have offered Timo Werner as part of a swap deal to sign Gvardiol.

‘Chances of recovery are very good’ – Dortmund give positive Sebastien Haller update after testicular cancer diagnosis

BORUSSIA DORTMUND revealed that Sebastien Haller’s chances of recovery are “very good” after he discovered a testicular tumour.Haller received the diagnosis earlier this month and left Dortmund’s pre-season training camp in Switzerland for further examinations shortly after joining the club from Ajax in a £27million deal.

But the Bundesliga giants’ director Sebastian Kehl had some good news as he said the striker is receiving the “best possible treatment” and the doctors are very confident he will fully recover.
Kehl said: “Haller will receive best possible treatment. Chances of recovery are very good”.
Haller shared a positive health update last week from the hospital while undergoing treatment.
The Ivory Coast international thanked the club and the caregivers for all of their support.

Dortmund search for Haller replacement as club confirm he is out for ‘a few months’ after testicular tumour diagnosis

BORUSSIA DORTMUND are searching for a short-term replacement for Sebastien Haller as he begins treatment for a testicular tumour.The 28-year-old former West Ham striker joined the Bundesliga giants from Ajax for £27million earlier this summer.
