But Deji’s friend Ryan Taylor, who helped broker the extraordinary exhibition bout, revealed there was a row over the gloves.
He told Fred Talks Fighting: “Deji’s got a way of surprising people, we’ll see what happens. Deji’s got power man.
“We were literally just talking about it there and having a joke about it because there were some conversations about 10oz gloves.
“Everyone’s been talking about gloves but yeah, Deji’s tough. We’re going to see what happens.”

SunSport understands Mayweather wanted to fight in the smaller 10oz gloves, as would be the case in a professional bout.
But that was not in the contract and the bout is instead set to be contested over 14oz gloves.
Mayweather, 45, is boxing in his fifth exhibitions since officially retiring in 2017 after beating UFC superstar Conor McGregor, 34.
He hit the scales at 70kg, or 11 stone, which is his second highest weight ever.
Deji, 25, was up just before and came it at 79.5, or 12st 5lb to take a much needed weight advantage into the bout.

Watch Jack Fincham’s opponent Anthony Taylor brawl with rival at weigh-in for Floyd Mayweather exhibition with Deji

JACK FINCHAM’S opponent Anthony Taylor found himself in a scrap before his fight night even started. Fincham hit the scales in Dubai for his professional debut against Taylor, an MMA veteran and crossover boxer.

But the former sparring partner of Jake Paul’s found himself in an entirely different fight on the day of the weigh ins.
Rhys Caldon, a British 1-0 boxer living in Dubai, first called Taylor, 33, out at the press conference.
And he once again confronted the American a day before his fight with Fincham, on Floyd Mayweather’s undercard.
The pair exchanged words before Caldon threw water at Taylor, sparking a furious reaction.

Taylor approached Caldon, who attempted a takedown, and the two grappled on the floor.
Security split the pair up as Taylor, on top, could be heard yelling: “Don’t do that, I’m an MMA fighter.”
Caldon, once he got to his feet, said: “You’re light work. You’re light work you p****.”
Taylor tweeted: “Here’s a reminder to everybody who tries to actually test me in person!!!

“Do not f*** with me or take my kindness for weakness I’ll switch that switch ASAP!! He’s lucky I didn’t ground and pound him!”
Tempers flared earlier in the week as Taylor had a similar altercation with Fincham, 31, at the open workout.
The pair also shoved each other on stage at the weigh-ins ahead of their bout at the Coca-Cola Arena, headlined by Floyd Mayweather, 45, and Deji, 25.

Fury, 23, hit the scales at 12st 9lb while his American opponent, 33, weighed 12st 2lb, meaning there was half a stone between the pair.
Fury said: “No pressure at all, ready to go. Thank you all for coming, appreciate it. I’m going to put on a huge show for you all.
“A big dirty knockout is coming, I’ve trained eight weeks for this with the champ and I’m ready to go.”
But Paul interrupted and said: “It should be a knockout when you don’t make weight. That sucks.

“You’re about 7lb overweight and the world should know.”
Despite Bamba’s claim, SunSport understands Fury did in fact weigh in under his contract weight.
Jake Paul, 25, will be ringside for the fight on a scouting mission ahead of a potentially rescheduled grudge match with Fury.
But Bamba, an ex-marine who beat homelessness with boxing, has vowed to rip up the script and cause a scene.

He told SunSport: “I’m not just going to lay down it’s a great opportunity. I’m not just an opponent.
“I would say my next best bet would be the Jake Paul fight, if possible.
“I’ve sparred with Dillon Danis before, I did my thing with him before and they leaked that out.
“That’s another person who’s been in talks with Jake Paul as well, so I believe there’s a bunch of things I could get into as long as I perform on fight night.”
