LIAM SMITH has set his sights on Kell Brook and Gennady Golovkin Jr after sensationally knocking out Chris Eubank Jr. Eubank was dropped for the first time in his professional career after a barrage of shots in round four sent him to the canvas.

And Smith, 34, bundled him down again which forced referee Victor Loughlin to call a halt to the action.
Eubank, 33, does have a rematch clause in his contract, guaranteeing him a sequel if he wants it.
But following the news Brook, 36, fancies coming out of retirement, Smith has another blockbuster British option.
And he could even inherit a potential middleweight title shot from Eubank against WBA and IBF champion Golovkin, 40.

Smith said: “I’m open to anything, I always have been. You can ask anyone who’s ever dealt with me over the years, I’m not hard to deal with.
“But if it’s Chris next it’s Chris next, if not I’ll sit down and I’ve got very good options.
“Ben [Shalom] said Kell wants to fight the winner, that’s a huge fight. I know there’s talks of Golovkin.
“So I’m in a good position now at 160 as well as 154, so a win today was all that matters.”

Brook retired last year after finally getting a winning shot at long-time rival Amir Khan, 36.
Meanwhile Golovkin is still champion at middleweight but last September lost his super-middleweight trilogy bout to Canelo Alvarez, 32.
Smith’s own future may not be in his own hands, depending on what Eubank chooses to do with his right to rematch.
But the former light-middleweight champ insisted, having come up a division, he calls the shots on any rerun.
He said: “If Chris wants the rematch we can do that on my terms.
“I agreed to the rematch clause beforehand so we can see, I can beat all the best fights at 160lbs and 154lbs.”

CHRIS EUBANK JR was taunted by Conor Benn and Billy Joe Saunders as they twisted the knife in following his surprise loss to Liam Smith. Eubank hit the deck twice – his first trip to the canvas as a professional – in round four before the fight was stopped.

The middleweight, 33, only took the bout following the collapse of his catchweight clash with Benn, 26.
But Benn failed drug tests and the fight – almost 30 years after their dads’ famous rematch – was scrapped.
The unbeaten welterweight is fighting to clear his name and is growing increasingly confident in doing so.
And despite a period of silence, Benn came out swinging in reaction to Eubank’s brutal loss to Smith.

He said with a smirk to father Nigel: “What you saying dad? Wouldn’t have gone past two would it.”
Benn was not the only one of Eubank’s rivals to chime in as Saunders, 33, dedicated a rare social media post to his old opponent.
The former two-weight world champion won their 2014 European title fight and a rematch has been talked about ever since.
Saunders took the chance to aim a dig at Eubank, who claimed he could beat Smith at 50 per cent of his ability.

He posted a series of laughing face emojis with the caption: “50%.”
Eubank faces a fight to save his career but can gain redemption by exercising his rematch clause with a sequel in Liverpool.
He said: “If the fans want to see a rematch, we can get it on at Anfield.”
Smith responded: “If Chris wants the rematch we can do that on my terms.
“I agreed to the rematch clause beforehand so we can see, I can beat all the best fights at 160lbs and 154lbs.”

The fourth-round onslaught continued as Eubank was bundled to the canvas as he struggled to keep his footing.
He once more amazingly made it back to his feet on unsteady legs but the referee had no choice but to wave it off.
Trainer Roy Jones Jr was ready to throw the towel in but Eubank somehow wanted to carry on going.
He even rushed over to Smith, refusing to believe the bout had ended and had to be held back by opposing coach Joe McNally.

When Eubank, 33, cleared his head, he congratulated Smith, 34, but insisted he wanted to fight on.
He said: “Big congratulations to him, I felt like I could have gone on but he caught me with a great shot.”
Eubank followed up the sentiment as he broke his social media silence on Twitter.
He posted: “Congratulations to Liam tonight, nice lil shot you caught me with there my boy.

“Felt like I could of kept going but referee is in charge & I respect his decision. We’ll get it on again soon.”
Smith becomes the third man to beat Eubank, behind Billy Joe Saunders, 33, and George Groves, 34.
And he could get a second shot back at Anfield if a rematch clause is exercised.
Eubank said: “If the fans want to see a rematch then we can get it on at Anfield.”
Smith teased taking the sequel back home to Merseyside having come up in weight to beat Eubank, who was left with a swollen eye.

And before long he was bundled to the deck again and despite once more making it to his feet, the fight was waved off.
Froch, a former sparring partner, fears the loss could have massive consequences for Eubank and his career.
He said on Sky Box Office: “Where does he go from here? That could be curtains on his career.
“And I don’t want to say he should retire now but that was a bad defeat. I just think, where does he go now?

“He’s in against a naturally smaller guy and he looked badly hurt.
“I don’t think he’ll retire but where does he go now at middleweight or super-middleweight?”
Eubank’s dream of a middleweight title tilt against Kazakh legend Gennady Golovkin, 40, appear to have been KO’d.
And until any sort of redemption in the ring is gained, a mega-fight with Mexican Canelo Alvarez, 32, has also been knocked back.

Instead, Eubank, 33, could look to go behind enemy lines against Liverpool’s Smith, 34, should he exercise his rematch clause.

The fighter has since tried to clear his name while Eubank fought Smith at the AO Arena.
Smith defeated Eubank with a fourth-round stoppage to crown himself Britain’s best middleweight.
Benn was delighted with the result and mocked Eubank alongside his dad, the boxing great Nigel Benn.
Benn smiled at the camera before asking his father what he thought of the fight.

He said on Instagram: “What you saying dad? Wouldn’t have gone past two would it,” referencing what would have happened if they had fought.
Nigel responded by giggling and fist-bumping the air.
Benn further put the boot into his second-generation rival, writing on Twitter: “Oh man, @ChrisEubankJr it’s a good job you didn’t fight me. You’d last two rounds at 160.”
It comes after Eubank mocked Benn earlier this week after the Londoner tried to proclaim his innocence in light of the failed drugs test.

Brooke, fresh from her latest boxing win over TikTokker Faith Ordway last week, was ringside for the big clash.
She shared a short video alongside Fred Beck of Fred Talks Fighting fame.
Brooke joked they were on a date but Fred quickly interjected and stated they were merely watching the boxing.

Smith, 34, landed a barrage of hooks in the corner and forced the shock knockdown.
As Eubank, 33, unsteadily got to his feet, Smith rushed in to finish the job and bundled his man to the ground.
Eubank bravely made it up but the referee was left with no choice but to call a halt to the fight.
He was left with a horror eye swell and faces a potential broken orbital bone.

Eubank has a rematch clause in his contract, which could fall at Anfield.
And Smith – who warned to expect the unexpected – delivered on his promise.
He said: “I knew all week that I could hurt Chris, I have beaten better guys than Chris and I have proven my chin. I have coped with better guys than Chris.
“I was judging the distance better as the fight went on and I knew I would get to him in the end.
