It gives McBroom the chance to avenge his defeat in September when the two rematch at Wembley Arena on April 22.
The American sparked controversy when he made a video to say he tested positive for coronavirus after being hospitalised following defeat.
McBroom also revealed he fought just moments after using an IV – which is banned by any boxing commission – to combat his illness.
Gib – who was floored in the first round – would go onto win by knockout in the fourth after scoring FIVE knockdowns.

The rivals traded words when they faced off once again in the tournament draw.
Gib, 26, said: “This makes sense, he made his complaints, it’s time to prove yourself but it’s going the exact same route.
“I’ve got better IQ, you’re getting smoked, and it’s repeat. You haven’t got no easy fight coming in, you’re facing me and you’re getting smoked.”
McBroom, 30, said: “All I’ve got to say is, you won’t get lucky again because I won’t be sick. I wish you the best of luck.”

Now, according to Happy Punch Promotion, the stakes have been raised by trying to involve boxing royalty.
They claim a tag-team match with Mayweather and KSI against Filipinos Pacquiao and Salt Papi is officially being discussed.

But even with the pair of legend still fighting in exhibition bouts, a rematch has always been evaded.
Mayweather has boxed in six exhibitions since officially retiring in 2017 with a perfect 50-0 record following victory over UFC superstar Conor McGregor.
And he has faced two YouTube stars in Logan Paul and KSI’s brother Deji.

‘OK mate…’ – Tyson Fury’s promoter says Oleksandr Usyk fight WILL happen on April 29… but nobody believes him

FRANK WARREN has insisted Tyson Fury WILL fight Oleksandr Usyk on April 29 – but he was hit with resistance from sceptical fans. Usyk accepted Fury’s “greedy” offer of a 70/30 split – although he wanted the British legend to make a £1million donation to Ukraine.

And the WBA were informed that both sides had agreed terms to confirm the heavyweight division’s first four-belt unification.
But cracks started to appear when Fury demanded there be NO rematch clause in the contract.
And Usyk’s promoter Alex Krassyuk hit back to claim it was actually the Gypsy King’s side who wanted to stipulation placed in the paperwork.
It led to Krassyuk questioning whether Fury truly wants the fight and pouring doubt on the undisputed title decider.

But Hall of Famer Warren has attempted to put everyone’s mind at rest to say the fight is ON – with April 29 still the target date.
He told talkSPORT: “Like I said from the beginning, we’ll get this fight over the line. It will get over the line because both fighters want it.”
Despite Warren’s best efforts, fans spoke out to voice their concern.
One said: “Just can’t see it man, it will rumble on until Christmas.”

Another agreed: “7 weeks to sort out the biggest heavyweight fight in 30 years……ok mate.”
Fury, 34, addressed Usyk, 36, in a public video and claimed the WBA, IBF and WBO unified champion was stalling in negotiations.
He said: “I’ve been speaking to the lawyers today and Usyk’s people are talking about rematch clauses and all the b****cks.
“Here’s one to up the ante, how about there is no f***ing rematch clause for both of us, let’s up the ante completely.
“Never worry about what’s in the future and how many dollars you can get after you’ve been defeated.
“Worry about the fight, April 29, no rematch clause, the winner takes the glory, the loser goes home with his d*** in his hand.

“How about that? Agree to that you f***ing b****.”
But Krassyuk was quick to respond and replied: “As Usyk said, the greedy belly is still hoping to find a way to pull out.
“We knew before and know it now. As soon as Usyk accepts a no rematch clause there will still be searching for another thing to find and pull out the fight.
“I tell you why. He bluffed and Usyk called his bluff. This is 100 per cent. He didn’t expect Usyk to accept 70/30.
“He was not in a training camp and we say the next morning the theatrical performance that he was pretending to jog and fight someone in the ring.
“It’s all about nothing. He’s not prepared and scared to fight. He will try to find a way to avoid Usyk for as long as possible.
“We don’t trust him, we don’t believe him. One more thing to know, when we started the negotiations, Fury’s side was the first to ask for the rematch.

Wilder has offered to face Ngannou in both the ring and cage as part of a two-bout deal.
But Ngannou prefers to instead just box and could eye October 2024 for their proposed rematch on the anniversary of the Rumble.
He said: “We are looking around that timeline for the potential second fight. Which, in my opinion, should still be in boxing.
“Boxing is a new challenge, but remember, at the beginning, MMA was just as challenging as boxing – if not bigger.

“You’re not listening to me! You don’t understand what I’m saying. He went ten rounds, scored punches on the greatest fighter in the last 20, 100 years.

McGregor, who beat Diaz in their rematch, vowed to defeat Mayweather, 46, if the rivals ever rematched.

Thug ran towards Amir Khan, pointed gun at his face and demanded ‘take off your watch’ in terrifying armed robbery

A ROBBER ran towards boxing champ Amir Khan in the street, pointed a gun in his face and demanded he hand over his watch, a court heard yesterday. He snatched the £72,000 custom-made Franck Muller timepiece before turning the imitation gun on Mr Khan’s pal.

Amir is being held up outside the restaurant in Leyton, East London
The robber and an accomplice were then driven away in a silver Mercedes.
Mr Khan, 36, his wife Faryal, 31, and friend Omar Khalid were targeted outside a restaurant by a gang who used spotters to track their victims’ movements and relay them by phone, it was alleged.
The Khans had gone with Mr Khalid to eat at the Sahara Grill in Leyton, East London.
Prosecutor Philip Evans KC told the court: “Mr Khalid had parked his car up on the other side of the road and, as the Khans left the restaurant, Amir stopped briefly to greet some people outside the restaurant who wanted to say hello to him.

“He then proceeded to cross the road with Faryal following a few steps behind him.
“As Mr Khan approached Mr Khalid’s car he looked back to see where Faryal was and the next thing he knew, a man with a gun was running towards him.”
They had been followed into the restaurant by Nurul Amin, Ismail Mohammed, as well as Hamza Kulane who then phoned Ahmed Bana and Dante Campbell, it was alleged.
CCTV was said to show Bana, Campbell and an unidentified man leaving Bana’s home and arriving in the Mercedes at a road near the restaurant.

Mr Evans said they met Mohammed, who picked them up in his Astra, and drove them round the block and past the restaurant, in which Mr Khan could be seen.
Mr Evans told Snaresbrook crown court: “The people in the restaurant had taken them to observe the person who was going to be the target of the conspiracy to rob.”
He added that as the couple left the man pointed the gun at the former world champion’s face and said: “Take off the watch.”
He added: “Mr Khan, unsurprisingly, took off his watch and handed it to the gunman who ran away immediately and as he did so pointed the gun towards Mr Khalid, who was nearby.
“A second male had also run towards Mr Khan and he, too, turned and ran away with the gunman once the watch had been taken.”
The court was told the robbers fled in the Mercedes, driven by Bana.
Bana and Amin, both 25, and Mohammed, 24, deny conspiracy to commit robbery. Bana also denies having an imitation firearm.
Campbell, 21, has previously admitted being the gunman during the hold-up in April. Kulane has not been traced.

It will start with a return on May 13 in London, before summer and end of year bouts against the likes of Paul or Fury.
KSI tweeted: “Fight May 13th – Misfits 007.
“Fight winner of Kingpyn Tournament – August 26th – Misfits 010 Fight Tommy fury/Jake Paul December 16th – Misfits 013.

KSI, 29, beat Paul’s brother Logan, 27, when they turned professional for their rematch in 2019, a year after drawing in an exhibition.
And after three years out to focus on a fledging rap career, he returned last August winning TWO fights in one night.
KSI then knocked out online rival Faze Temperrr, 29, in January and is now in talks to face millionaire-businessman turned 9-0 boxer Joe Fournier, 40.
The Londoner will then turn his attention to KingPyn’s eight-man winner-take-all boxing tournament, wanting to face the winner.

Paul was initially beaten by split-decision in February but has confirmed he wants to exercise his rematch clause.
The American was in line to settle his score with KSI this year but his first ever loss looks to have KO’d those plans.
And KSI added further doubt when he tweeted: “At this point, after I beat a pro boxer on May 13th, I’m gonna go straight for Tommy Fury.

WBA, IBF and WBO boss Usyk has already had to agree to the slim side of a 70-30 split in Tyson Fury’s home – after the Brit refused a 50-50 split in Saudi Arabia.
And now he is being told to accept a one-fight deal, meaning no chance of getting instant retribution if he were to suffer a controversial decision in Fury’s backyard.

And another said: “Give him the rematch clause Tyson he’s agreed 70/30/.”
One remarked: “Moving the goalposts a lot here, champ.”
Another chimed in: “Love this! No rematch clause.”
One boxing fan said: “Great idea, no rematch and the champion moves on to fight another contender just how it should be.”
