ON Saturday night, two very different boxers go head-to-head at the O2.Anthony Joshua, 33, faces off against Jermaine Franklin, 29, as he aims to resurrect his career.
Anthony Joshua boasts a huge net worth of around £120m
In contrast, Jermaine Franklin lives a modest lifestyle and is said to be worth £500k

Their contrasting lifestyles add to to the intrigue the fight brings.
AJ, who is believed to have a £120million fortune, lives a life of luxury – like a sporting god would – boasting nice cars, expensive jewellery, designer threads and more.
While American fighter Franklin is on the opposite end of the scale – a modest family man with a reported net worth of just £500,000.
Should he win, he could treble his career earnings with a reported £1million purse for the upcoming bout.

It could change Franklin’s life forever. Here’s how their riches compare.

    CARS
When it comes to motors, AJ certainly has the upper hand on his rival.
Thanks to his partnership with Jaguar Land Rover – which is rumoured to be worth £790,000 a year – AJ rolls round London in his choice of a fleet of luxury wheels, including a customised white Jaguar XJR, worth £93,000.
    It’s a step-up from his first car, a £1,500 Vauxhall Astra.

His favourite motor is his personalised black Range Rover, which he says “looks very professional and sets a standard”.
Franklin, who hails from Saginaw, Michigan doesn’t boast a car collection to envy, that we can see from his social media.
However, we caught a glimpse of a £30,000 Chrysler 300 in the backdrop of his training camp.
Through Under Armour, AJ gets use of the company jet.
Showing the interior of the £45million black G550 ahead of his trip to the States to face Ruiz for the first time, AJ said: “These type of things aren’t ordinary, in my daily life and in many other people’s daily lives, so it’s a blessing.
“However, my view is even though I enjoy it and the door has been opened for me, I can’t forget to open the door for people who have come with me and the people who aren’t in a position to enjoy this type of luxury.
“I never get too lost in the source and get carried away with these types of things.”

    BANKRUPTCY
It was only three years ago that Franklin filed for bankruptcy.
When he was forced out of the ring because of the Coronavirus pandemic, he turned to working with a roofing company.
Times were hard – gruelling night shift hours meant training on his days-off, in-between taking his kids to school, was even harder.
His phone was dead. Franklin said he would have fought anyone, anywhere.
“I would have done a rinky-dink show for a couple of hundred dollars,” he told The U.S. Sun.
    “But there was nothing.”
However, a fight against Dillian Whyte got him out of his hole.
“I was at work when I got the call,” Franklin admitted.
“I said to my guy ‘Are you for real?’ He said he was and would call me back in hour.
“He was telling the truth. I quit my job right then and there.”
In 2020, Franklin was forced to park boxing and took up a job at a roofing company because of the Covid-19 pandemic
A fight against Dillian Whyte helped Franklin financially after he was forced to file bankruptcy
    HOME
Anthony came from humble beginnings on a council estate in Watford.
He bought his mum, Yeta Odusanya her council flat in north London for a mere £185,000 in 2013.
AJ did spend a portion of his hard-earned winnings on a rented property in a north London mansion while he was training for the Wladimir Klitschko fight.
According to a report, the mansion near Lord’s Cricket Ground was worth £27million. It belonged to South African diamond trader Walter Hennig, and cost AJ around £20,000 per month.
It has been reported his property portfolio includes a £1million property in north London, as well as three homes in Watford totalling £1.5million.
AJ also bought a £500,000 penthouse in north London, for his ex-girlfriend and JJ’s mum, Nicole Osbourne, despite them splitting.
Like Joshua, Franklin grew up modestly.
When he was still a child growing up in the deprived-but-proud city of Saginaw, he moved into live with his grandmother Bernice, helping her around the home as she struggled with mobility.

    FASHION AND JEWELLERY
In terms of fashion and personal appearance, Franklin scrubbed up well in a smart suit in one image on Instagram.
But it doesn’t compare to AJ – who is sponsored by Hugo Boss and seen wearing the height of fashion.
And when it comes to jewels, again Joshua is streets ahead.
Anthony does own a £350,000 watch. Custom-designed for the 6ft 6in superstar by Audemars Piguet, it’s made of gold and studded with diamonds.
In the past, Joshua has spoken before about how it’s the most lavish thing he owns.

He also owns a Marvel-themed Audemars Piguet worth £120,000.
Should Franklin be the victor in south-east London, maybe it will be his turn to enjoy the high-life.

‘It could all work in AJ’s favour’ – Anthony Joshua told how to secure Tyson Fury fight after Jermaine Franklin

ANTHONY JOSHUA returns to the ring on Saturday following back to back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk. And a dominant win over American fighter Jermaine Franklin could set up a mouthwatering all-British showdown with Tyson Fury.

That is the view of former two-weight world champion Carl Frampton.
The two heavyweights came close to fighting in the summer of 2021 before the Gypsy King was forced into a trilogy bout against Deontay Wilder.
Fury currently does not have a fight in the calendar after talks with Usyk over an undisputed bout broke down.
And Frampton reckons a commanding Joshua win on Saturday night would be a call-out to Fury.
    READ MORE ON ANTHONY JOSHUA
Writing in his BBC column, Frampton said: “I’m not saying a win against Franklin will automatically set up the Fury fight, but I would love to see a stern, clear call-out – ‘I want Tyson Fury next’.
“Fury might also be in a position now where he feels like he has to take that fight.
“He may feel AJ is an easier fight than the Usyk fight, which quite possibly it is.

“It could also be a chance for both Britons to get people back on side as well.”
Top Rank chief Todd DuBoef also reckons the AJ vs Fury bout is the “biggest fight in the world” and could still happen this year.
However, Frampton declared Joshua going the distance with Franklin would not be enough to set up a fight with Fury.
While he also suggested a defeat to the American, who was beaten by Dillian Whyte last November, could be the “end” for AJ.”
He warned: “A points win is not good enough. I want to see him get rid of Franklin early, stand in the ring and call out Tyson Fury.
“Fury-Joshua is still huge. A massive fight not just for British boxing but also on a global stage.
“A loss, and I think that’s the end for Joshua. Where does he go from there?”

Ahead of AJ’s comeback, Hearn appeared on this week’s episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast.
Lots of talk centred around the heavyweight star and his upcoming battle with the shredded American Franklin.
However, the conversation then switched to the growing market for YouTube and celebrity boxing.
Crouch asked Hearn: “Could any footballers go into it?”

Hearn said: “Rooney can fight, I’ve spoke to Wayne.
“When Wayne has a drink, he’ll message me and he’ll start going, ‘I’ll fight him and I’ll fight him,’ and I get excited.
“Sometimes I get a message from Wayne saying, ‘Make me vs so and so, make that fight.’

“So I’ll message him back, ‘Few glasses of red or [are you serious?]’
“Then he won’t reply and I’ll go, ‘Damn.’ But Wayne can fight.”
The Manchester United legend, currently managing DC United in the USA’s MLS, is a well-known boxing fan and sat ringside for Tyson Fury’s win over Derek Chisora in December.

How Franklin lost 2st for Anthony Joshua fight with strict diet as he reveals very British way he’ll celebrate win

JERMAINE FRANKLIN has beef and a trip to Buckingham Palace  on the menu if he beats Anthony Joshua on Saturday.Since his points defeat to Dillian Whyte in November, the American swapped red meat for fish and fruit smoothies — and lost almost two stone.

And if the underdog can cut down Joshua as impressively as his waistline, he has a very British way to celebrate on Sunday.
Franklin, 29, said: “I stopped eating red meat and cut down on sugar and lost 22lb.
“The things I miss most are probably ribs or steak. I used to love steak. I’d feel really bad — if I smell it, I instantly get hungry!
“Once I win I will have a good pile of ribs and steak and I want to go to see the city a little bit. See Buckingham Palace.

“We went past the Tower of London already but I like to stay in my room and focus before a fight, so I will try to go probably after the fight. After I win, not if I win.”
Joshua refused Franklin’s handshake at the Wednesday press conference as the trash-talk got spicy.
The Michigan man said: “I was going to shake his hand but he turned the opposite way.
“He might have been mad because I said I was going to knock him out.

“I just answered the questions how they asked them — I didn’t mean no disrespect.
“I didn’t disrespect the guy but if they ask me what I think I am going to do, I am going to tell them. I’m not going to sugar-coat it.”
Despite a decade of Olympic and world title wins, in some of Britain’s biggest stadiums, AJ has failed to sell out the 18,000-seat O2.
And that might let the Franklin family fan club overpower Team Joshua and urge their man on to the upset.

He said: “My mum and  sister are coming over. You’re going to see my little sister, she’s a character, she’s a lot of action, a lot of the time.
“You might hear her over a lot of people. They’re going to have to tell her to sit down.”
Franklin’s  godmother, nicknamed Boobut, died at the start of the week and the American admits he will not even start trying to grieve until he can get back home.
He said: “She was struggling with some health problems.
“We were very close. She’d always been around, always wished me the best. We always spent a lot of time together, since childhood.

“It was hard to take. I didn’t think it was real. I thought my mum was lying when she told me.
“I have had to put it to the back of my mind until I get back home and can start to process it.” More

John Fury calls on Tyson to SACK SugarHill Steward after Usyk fight collapse for ‘denying him like Judas denied Jesus’

TYSON FURY has been urged to SACK “Judas” trainer SugarHill Steward by his dad John. The Gypsy King started working with Steward in 2020, with the duo since enjoying great success together.

Fury, 34, had been expected to take on Oleksandr Usyk in a historic heavyweight unification bout on April 29 at Wembley.
The fight fell through last week, however, after promoters failed to agree a deal.
Throughout talks the Gypsy King had appeared to be in training with Steward in the North West.
But the highly-respected trainer has since revealed that he was in the region to work with Lawrence Okolie for his fight with David Light – and that his flight home was also planned for March 28 – suggesting that Team Fury were never anticipating the Usyk bout to come to fruition.
    READ MORE BOXING NEWS
Steward’s comments have enraged John Fury, who has now called on his son to SACK his trainer.
John told Metro, via Freebets.com: “Tyson knows my opinion and that is all those people wrapped around him want sacking. The full lot.
“If they talk about loyalty, that’s not loyalty as far as I’m concerned. If you are stood by your man, shoulder to shoulder, you take it all.
“You’re not going to pass the blame or distance yourself from him. Tyson is my son and I will stand with him until the day I die.

“That thing with SugarHill the other day, what the hell was that about? “I’m only here for Okolie.” What was he talking about?
“When I have seen him training Tyson, he was living in Tyson’s house, he had his missus there, he was using the gym and I have seen him working Tyson out.
“And all of a sudden denied him like Judas Iscariot denied Jesus Christ? What the hell was going on there?
“For me, that is a sacking offence. He will be down the road for that charade. It was upsetting.
“Tyson just falls in love with these people and finds out they are not who they seem to be. It is all about pound signs and he has put SugarHill where is.
“He give these guys a chance like the others he has put around him and it has ended in tears. Get rid of them, clear the board. How does the heavyweight champion need all this?
    ‘GET RID OF THEM ALL’
“It would be easier if he did it all himself and he has got capable people around him to help him do it. Not just me. With sound people around him we can make the right decisions and get on with it.
“Get rid of them all. They all want to be his best mate but as soon as things get a bit sticky and he gets a few bad comments, people want to distance themselves from him.”
John Fury also sought to place the blame for Tyson’s Usyk bout falling through at the hands of promoters Frank Warren and Alex Krassyuk.
The Gypsy King lowballed Usyk with a 70-30 offer… only for the Ukrainian to accept.
But the bout STILL failed to be agreed.
On where the blame should lie, John said: “I’m confused, the country is confused, the world is confused.

“But the only ones not confused are the handlers. The promoters.
“They always seem to put a spanner in the works. But we are where we are. If it is meant to be, it will happen.”
