Oleksandr Usyk reveals why he stopped Tyson Fury negotiations and what purse split REALLY was as talks collapsed

OLEKSANDR USYK has revealed why the negotiations for his fight with Tyson Fury broke down. The Ukrainian had been due to fight Fury in a heavyweight unification bout before negotiations collapsed.

In an interview with Volodymyr Kobelkov, Usyk lifted the lid on negotiations, saying: “I see that nothing is going on, he is trying to play us, and I said, ‘That’s all, bye’.”
Usyk’s agent Egis Klimas insisted Fury kept making more demands which made reaching a compromise impossible.
This is despite a reported 70-30 split in the purse, something Usyk has now confirmed.
Usyk revealed the real split in the purse before brutally putting down Fury’s claim of being “king”.

He added: “He says, ’70/30, I am the king. It’s all thanks to me.’ I don’t respond to that. I understand that this is a mental game.
“The king is the king. And the king does not need to shout that he is the king.”
Despite the collapse, Usyk has kept his eye on the British boxing scene, revealing both the opponent and location of his next fight.
He said: “It will probably be Daniel Dubois at the end of the summer… I will go to Britain, I love it very much.

“My first big achievements were in Britain. Then Anthony Joshua. I like this place, I like the fans, the people.”
Indeed, a WBA statement on Monday confirmed they had ordered the fight, with a negotiation period starting on April 4 and finishing on May 2.
It also comes after a savage comparison he made between Fury and boxing legend Muhammad Ali.
On Fury, Usyk declared: “He is trying very hard to copy the great Muhammad Ali.

A proposed fight between Usyk and Fury fell through in March with the two parties unable to agree a deal.
It is believed Usyk was even prepared to agree a 70-30 purse split in Fury’s favour to make the fight happen.
But according to Usyk’s agent Egis Klimas Fury kept making more demands which made reaching a compromise impossible.
Since the collapse of the fight the fighters have been quiet, and now Usyk has made his dig at the Gypsy King.

The Welshman had an agreement with the IBF that the winner of the bout with Ogawa would face Rakhimov by September this year, in a mandatory title defence.

Whilst many considered it an extremely harsh decision, Rakhimov went on to stop Zelfa Barrett to win the vacant belt.
Cordina will go into the fight as the favourite for most people as he looks to reclaim the championship. But both fighters are undefeated and Rakhimov will be looking to cause an upset by defending his title in the Welshman’s home country.

Fuming Kell Brook breaks silence as Amir Khan is BANNED after testing positive for illegal substance

KELL BROOK has raged at Amir Khan for his “disgusting” positive drugs test.Khan, 36, who retired after losing to Brook by stoppage last year, has been handed a two-year doping ban after the banned substance ostarine was found in his system following the loss.

Brook slammed Khan after finding out about his failed drug testCredit: iFL TV
And Brook, 36, did not pull any punches in his assessment of his long-time rival.
Speaking to iFL TV, he said: “I heard about it today, when everyone else heard.
“I’m disgusted, it’s been over a year since we boxed, it makes me feel sick.
“I’ve got three beautiful kids. He’s gone in there to try and hurt me. It’s a f***ing joke.”

Khan has claimed ingestion of the banned substance was not intentional.
Ostarine is a drug designed to have similar effects to testosterone, used by athletes and bodybuilders to boost muscle mass and performance.
However, it has also been used to treat muscle-wasting diseases and osteoporosis.
The result of Khan’s fight against Brook has now been wiped out.
    Most read in Boxing
His ban has been backdated to start immediately after the 2022 fight and will run until April 2024.
Khan has broken his silence on the matter, telling Sky Sports: “I’ve never cheated.
“I’m a retired fighter… you can see by my performance. My performance against Kell Brook wasn’t the best.
“I lost the fight… if I’d gone in and knocked him out if would be different.
“I’ve never cheated in my life… I was the one who wanted testing on the fight.
“The amount that was in my system could have been from shaking hands.”
Khan continued: “I didn’t know what the drug was in my system.
“I’ve never cheated in my life… I’d never cheat.
“Like I said, I am a retired fighter. I’ve got a two-year ban now which is quite strange and funny that they’ve banned me… I’m already retired anyway.”
On a potential return to the ring, Khan added: “[I’ve got] no comeback plans at all.
“But, like I said, I’ve never cheated and never will. That’s just not something I would do.”
UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) earlier confirmed the news in a statement.
It read: “Professional boxer and Olympic medallist Amir Khan has been banned from all sport for two years following Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRVs) for the presence and use of a Prohibited Substance.
“On 19 February 2022, UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) collected an In-Competition urine Sample from Mr Khan after his fight against Kell Brook at the Manchester Arena.
“Mr Khan’s Sample returned an Adverse Analytical Finding (AAF) for ostarine.
“UKAD notified Mr Khan of the AAF on 6 April 2022 and that he may have committed ADRVs under the 2021 UK Anti-Doping Rules (ADR).
“UKAD issued him with a Provisional Suspension from all Code-compliant sport on the same date.
“On 20 July 2022, UKAD charged Mr Khan with the commission of two ADRVs: Presence of a Prohibited Substance and Use of a Prohibited Substance.
“Mr Khan accepted the violations charged but maintained that his ingestion of ostarine was not ‘intentional’.”
UKAD went on to reveal the case was referred to the National Anti-Doping Panel – with the charges upheld.
The statement continued: “As a consequence his case was referred to the National Anti-Doping Panel to be considered by an independent tribunal.
“Mr Khan’s case was heard by the independent tribunal on 24 January 2023 and in its written decision dated 21 February 2023, the panel found both violations proved, concluded that Mr Khan had established that they were not ‘intentional’ within the meaning of ADR Article 10.2.3 and imposed a two-year ban on him.
“The panel also disqualified Mr Khan’s result from the bout against Mr Brook.
“Mr Khan’s two-year ban is deemed to have commenced on 6 April 2022 (the date his Provisional Suspension was imposed) and will expire on 5 April 2024.”
In the weeks leading up to the Brook fight, Khan revealed he was yet to be drug-tested and that he was chasing officials to get it done.
He called the whole experience “a bit strange” as he was desperate for a “fair fight”.
Khan retired in 2022 with a record of 34-6 following defeat to Brook, bringing down the curtain on an illustrious career.

The Bolton star was catapulted into the spotlight after bagging silver at the Athens Olympic Games in 2004.
Khan won his first 18 fights but lost the biggest fights of his career against the likes of Canelo Alvarez, Terence Crawford and Brook. More

Inside KSI’s controversies from his ‘rape joke scandal’ to racism storm that’s seen him take social media break

KSI recently hit the headlines again after being embroiled in a racism storm that has seen him take a social media break. The YouTuber-turned-boxer said the word “p***” in a Sidemen video – the group he founded alongside six other creators.

The British rapper, real name Olajide William Olatunji, made the slur during a video with his YouTube group, where they were playing a Countdown challenge.
From his selection of letters, KSI caused outrage by creating a four-letter derogatory word for people of South Asian origin.
The video has been taken down and he issued an apology for an offence he may have caused.
However, fans have criticised the 29-year-old despite his apology, claiming he should have known better.

And this isn’t the first time the popular YouTuber has found himself in hot water, having courted headlines for a number of wrong reasons over the years.
    ‘Rape jokes’
KSI was accused of trivialising rape by making what was referred to as “rape faces” in a series of his online videos.
The clips show the star in a variety of settings, turning to camera with a menacing expression and making sexually suggestive gestures.
Many said pulling his “rape face”, which would regularly appear in his videos, trivialised sexual assault.
    Most read in Boxing
He apologised for his past content in 2020 after a backlash from women’s charities and social media users.
    Sexist behaviour
KSI sparked controversy in 2012 when he asked women at Eurogamer Expo what STIs they have.
He asked one woman what was her “favourite STI”, to which she reluctantly replied “chlamydia”.
KSI then asked her: “Is that because you have it?”
Another part of the clip saw him quiz a woman at the gaming conference about the size of her breasts, stating: “I can’t see them?”
That video has seen been removed from YouTube, with KSI later expressing his regret over the incident.
He said: “I’m in shock. I can’t believe I was like that. People enjoyed that video?!
“I can see now why I got into a lot of trouble. I was such a virgin back then.
“I think if I do anything remotely close to this again, I will change my whole outfit so I can show people that I’m a different character.”
He was banned for life from Eurogamer Expo events.
    Microsoft axing
In 2013, Microsoft severed all ties with KSI after the company was criticised for employing him to promote the launch of Xbox One.
KSI had performed a song with three other artists but Microsoft faced backlash from fans.
Widespread anger and concern over his involvement saw Microsoft vow not to work with him again at any point.
    Offensive remarks
In another YouTube video, uploaded in August 2014, KSI asks a Page 3 model about her sex life, while repeatedly calling her a sl*t in the voiceover.
He has also since apologised for his behaviour with a spokesman saying he had made a “mistake as a teenager”.
While in 2021, KSI issued an apology after being accused of being transphobic something he strongly denied.
    Suicide controversy
In 2018, KSI released a new diss track music video with a Logan Paul look-alike ahead of their boxing fight.
The video was made in reference to Logan’s scandalous Suicide Forest footage which landed his fellow YouTuber in very hot water.

Despite how controversial that video was for his Prime drink partner – who was then a rival – KSI decided to make light of the situation.
KSI’s representatives have been contacted for comment. More
