But the American boxer hinted he could also stand out at heavier divisions when he proved he can punch harder than BOTH Wilder and Joshua back in 2019.
The then 24-year-old appeared on the Inside PBC Boxing show where he tested his mettle on the punch machine.
Wilder had already stepped to the plate to register a record 927 with his weaker left hand.
But Davis delivered a thunderous left of his own to surpass the Bronze Bomber and register a staggering 939.

The southpaw also beat Joshua, although technically the British superstar tried his luck on a different machine.
AJ appeared on the BBC’s Graham Norton Show in 2017 alongside actor Martin Freeman, academy award winner Rachel Weisz and comedian Greg Davies.
All four of them tried their luck on the punching bag, with the actors going up first.
Weisz, Freeman and Davies recorded 182, 594 and 632 respectively in front of an impressed Norton.

Anthony Joshua reveals Deontay Wilder fight is ’95 per cent done’ as he teases huge Saudi tournament with Tyson Fury

Rumours have been rife since that he is in line to face former WBC champ Wilder, who beat Robert Helenius in his comeback fight in October.
The American’s manager, Shelly Finkel, recently confirmed the Bronze Bomber was “willing to fight” AJ – and the Brit has revealed discussions have already begun.
Speaking to The Metro about Wilder, who demolished Robert Helenius inside one round last October, he said: “He is good, I respect him, I don’t undermine him. That will make me raise my game.
“I respect what he has done and what he has done in this division. It is hard to become a champion and he did it so I have to respect that.

“It’s going to be a tough fight but I am confident in myself. I’m a better, more well-rounded athlete, a better, more well-rounded fighter.
“In terms of it getting delivered [from my side], I honestly believe it is 95 per cent there.”
Joshua had earlier told an audience at the Under Armour store located inside Battersea Power Station: “In December potentially there is a big fight that should be cracking with me and Wilder. It has been a long time coming.
“There are a lot of moving shapes at the minute, so one step at a time. But it has been a long time coming, for sure.”

However, reports have also been mounting that a potential Christmas cracker would be part of a blockbuster Middle East evening that would be headlined by the long-awaited heavyweight unification bout between Fury and Usyk.
AJ told Sky Sports News: “Have you ever heard of anything like that before? Two heavyweight clashes on the same night.
“The rumours that are circulating, there might be some truth behind it.”
Despite eyeing up that potential showdown at the end of 2023, Joshua is also planning for another bout before that this summer.
He added: “I’m preparing for that big fight, when it comes. I’m just taking it one fight at a time and building, so that by the time I get to that finish line, I’ve got something in the tank. That’s how I’m getting on with this year.
“I’ve had my first fight; I’ve spoken to my coach, hopefully I can fight in July or August – keep that momentum – and then by December, there’s rumours going around that I’m going to be in a big showdown – and I can’t wait.”
Discussing the prospect of that potential blockbuster evening in Saudi, his Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn said: “From our side Anthony Joshua is ready to sign to fight Deontay Wilder or Tyson Fury, subject to contract, which has never been a problem for us in Saudi because we’ve always found a deal.
“It looks like – and I can’t tell you until I go – they want to do this huge night of Usyk against Fury and Joshua against Wilder.
“It sounds bizarre, it sounds mad, but it’s the kind of place where that could happen. We’re all in and we’ll go next week, look them in the eye and we’ll see where we get to.

“We’re up for it. I’m going out to Saudi next week to have those conversations, to start the process to see if it’s real or not. I know it’s real because I’ve dealt with those guys before.
“There’s four fighters they are going to have to sign, but we’re happy to fight Deontay Wilder or Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia in December.” More

Tyson Fury announced to fight bizarre opponent on KSI card after teasing ‘monster’ bout

TYSON FURY’S next opponent appears to have been announced with a bizarre fight lined up on KSI’s Misfits Boxing card.Fans have been left very sceptical by the reveal which would see Fury take on a man few would have guessed.

The heavyweight champion has been close to securing big fights against the likes of Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua in recent months.
But with those potential bouts falling by the wayside, the Gypsy King was on the prowl for another big clash.
Misfits Boxing, KSI’s crossover fighting brand, has tweeted that Fury will take on American Football player Chase DeMoor in a May 13 clash at Wembley Arena.
Their ‘announcement’ comes as Fury teased fans yesterday with news of a “massive, monstrous fight”.
    READ MORE IN BOXING
Fury, 34, has been expected to fight again in July and December this year but with the negotiations for clashes against AJ and Usyk halted, it was unclear who he would take on next.
The Morecambe fighter has no mandatory challenger for his WBC belt so is free to handpick his next opponent.
Fans have been left divided over the claim he is to fight DeMoor with many insisting it is a joke but others unsure.
One said: “No way this is real. Right… right!?”

While another fight fan said: “This is a joke right?”
Meanwhile, a cheeky tweeter said: “Such a mismatch… how are you gonna put one of the best heavyweights of our generation against Tyson Fury.”
Another fan joked: “Fury won’t take that fight, too much of a risk.”
Even KSI got in on the reaction as he tweeted: “I hope this is fake. Putting Fury’s health at serious risk making this fight, smh.”
Despite their social media post, Misfits have still yet to release an official statement confirming the fight.
If it was proven to be real, it would one of the most high-profile showdowns that crossover boxing has seen.
And incredibly Fury could theoretically go through with it even though Misfits boxing is not sanctioned by the British Boxing Board of Control.
As Fury holds a Nevada licence he could not be punished by the BBBofC for taking part.

DeMoor, who has appeared in Netflix dating series Too Hot To Handle, has got limited experience in crossover boxing.

Iron-chinned Joe Joyce is his own worst enemy and should RETIRE before he suffers a life-changing injury

JOE JOYCE’S nearest and dearest should be eternally grateful the gruesome swelling beneath his eye meant his fight with Zhilei Zhang was halted before the halfway mark. For more than five rounds, Joyce’s head was unmercifully pounded with sickening force by his near-20-stone Chinese rival.

Joyce should think long and hard about his career and the damage he may takeCredit: REUTERS
Because of his courage, if Joe’s right eye had not been shut tight he would have continued to take a non-stop barrage of dangerous blows until the end of the 12th and final round.
In Joyce’s 16-fight career, his teak-tough chin has been a source of wonderment – but it has probably been his own worst enemy.
Fight folk have been in awe at the way Joe manages to soak up heavy punches like blotting paper absorbs ink — he has always seemed impervious to pain.
He doesn’t help himself the way he walks forward in a straight line without seeming to think it is necessary to move his head.
Zhang, like so many before him, found it impossible to miss, constantly catching him with his best shot — a heavy-handed southpaw left.
I felt uneasy watching Joyce take such a battering and found myself wondering if, at 37, it would be wise to continue his ring career.
There’s no doubt the punters love him because he gives them full value for their money — he never takes a backward step and always comes to fight.
At his time of life, there’s not much chance of him changing his style.

Which can only mean plenty more punishment lies ahead.
On last Saturday night’s evidence, it’s highly unlikely Joe will ever become world heavyweight champ.
It may sound harsh but because he is so easy to hit, Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury would simply use him for target practice.
Yet despite my fears for his health, Joe has already committed himself to invoke the return fight clause in his contract and have another go at Zhang.
The Juggernaut may have been severely damaged in a head-on crash but the repair job is already underway.
Joe defiantly said: “Before you write me off I’m OK.
“I’ve just got a bruised eye. I think I’m OK — as fights go I’m in good health.”
    Forget BS, be DAZzled
Saudi Arabia are reportedly plotting a heavyweight tournament involving Tyson Fury and Oleksandr UsykCredit: Reuters
It has been suggested Saudi Arabia is willing to spend £325million to stage a mammoth December double-header — Usyk against Fury and Deontay Wilder against Anthony Joshua.
Where have we heard that before? We are led to believe negotiations will begin next week.
But it didn’t take long for Fury to describe the grandiose plan as “absolute BS”.
I will only believe it if contracts are signed.
Forget the big boys. If fans want a mouth-watering treat they should tune in to DAZN in the early hours of Sunday to see the long-awaited clash between three-time world champ Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia in Las Vegas.
    Both American lightweights are unbeaten.

Davis has won 26 of his 28 fights by KO and Garcia has blasted out 19 of his 23 opponents.
This could be 2023’s Fight of the Year. More

Social media superstar Garcia enters the Sin City showdown on the back of a vicious sixth-round knockout of former two-time champion Javier Fortuna.
And he plans to inflict a similar fate on the WBA (regular) 135lb champion Davis in double-quick time.
When asked for his prediction, ‘The Flash’ told Showtime: “In a blink of an eye, it’ll be finished.
“That’s what’s gonna happen April 22nd. In the blink [of an] eye, it’s gone and everybody will be shocked.

“Nobody will have anything to say. No words will be spoken.
“We just have to watch and see. That’s what’s gonna happen April 22nd.”
Hard-hitting Baltimore bruiser Davis is hellbent on adding Garcia’s name to his record – which boasts 26 knockouts.
And the 28-year-old’s former protege Floyd Mayweather reckons he’ll put Garcia to sleep until ‘NEXT YEAR’ if he lands flush on the chin.

I fought Floyd Mayweather and Amir Khan but my toughest bout was with a boxing legend who could KO a donkey

BOXING legend Zab Judah named famed body puncher Micky Ward as his toughest ever opponent. Judah held titles in two weights during his career and faced the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Amir Khan and Miguel Cotto.

But it was Ward – who inspired the Oscar-winning film The Fighter – who Judah rated as the most gruelling.
And the American’s trademark body shots still live long in the memory for Judah, who won the fight on points.
He told OLBG: “Micky Ward was my toughest opponent because I was 15-0, fighting a legend, and he had a body punch that would stop a donkey.
“He was no joke. I never had to use my mind capacity the way I had to use it in the Ward fight.

“That was hard. I’ve been fighting my whole life, there’s nothing physically hard for me.
“But I never had to use my brain and mind capacity as I did in the Micky Ward fight.”
Judah, now retired, was beaten by boxing icon Mayweather in their 2006 IBF title fight.
The bout will forever be remembered for the all-out brawl during round ten following a low-blow from Judah.

Mayweather’s uncle and coach Roger – who sadly died in 2020 – stormed into the ring sparking the mass melee.
Judah went on to lose on the cards but what is not as well remembered is the phantom knockdown he scored in fight.
As Mayweather leaped in with a lead right hand, he was met with a check hook and his glove touched the canvas.
It should have been ruled a knockdown but instead the referee deemed it a slip.
Judah, 45, later patched things up with Mayweather, 46, and they became training partners and friends, as he let the knockdown go.
He said: “It was a knockdown, but it doesn’t bother me because people know what they saw.
“I don’t care what the scoreboard or stats say, you cannot fool people’s eyes.
Floyd Mayweather after defeating Zab Judah in 2006Credit: AP
“The world knew what they saw. Floyd was tremendous and is in a great situation in life right now.
“He can take that perfect Mayweather unbeaten record and run it up with celebrity fights. He’s doing a brilliant job with it.
“Floyd is one of the top guys I’ve had the opportunity of sharing the ring with; fast, great defence, ring smart and it was a great night, but we showed up that night. Team Judah.”
It was a body shot from Khan that crippled Judah in 2011, but the New Yorker still protests that it was low.
And despite losing all four of the rounds on the official scorecards before the KO, Judah believes he was in control.
He said: “I feel like the fight was a cheat, I got hit in the balls and I went down. I was winning the fight. I think I was cheated out of that fight.

“Amir Khan acted like a swell gentleman after the fight, he did nothing wrong and performed and behaved as he should. He won the fight and moved on.

How YouTube star AnEsonGib went from morbidly obese gamer to ripped boxer with stunning SEVEN STONE body transformation

YOUTUBE star AnEsonGib went from obese gamer to ripped boxer with a stunning SEVEN STONE body transformation. Gib – real name Ali Loui Al-Fakhri – shot to fame online playing Fifa and developed an unhealthy diet of junk food and fizzy drinks.
AnEsonGib was an overweight gamer before turning to boxing

He even admitted he was “morbidly obese” with a “belly and t**s” before he first walked into the gym.
But the rise of celebrity boxing matches gave ‘Gib’ the chance to complete a stunning body and career transformation.
He was first trained by cruiserweight boxing prospect Viddal Riley and introduced to strength and conditioning coach Leon Wills.
Wills has been with Gib for every fight since and helped mastermind a sensational weight loss.

He told SunSport: “Gib was very overweight for his height and size, I think his max was probably about 110kg.
“But mentally, funnily enough he was always strong. He’s always had a strong mind, strong willpower so he’s one of those clients that will always say yes to whatever.
“He doesn’t moan about the exercise, he doesn’t moan about the workout and he gets it done. He’s well driven.”
At Gib’s heaviest, he weighed over 17 STONE but his boxing return will be at 11st 8lb, meaning he has shifted almost seven stone.

Wills said: “He’s fighting now at 75kg, so it’s about 45kg [he’s lost]. And the most important thing is his physique has changed, his body composition.
“A lot of fat loss, muscle gain, he’s looking like a proper gentleman now, a proper man.”
Gib is now coached by Abdul Yaseen – with Riley focussing on his own fight career – working alongside Wills.
He has four or five strength and conditioning sessions a week, lasting for an hour, with warm up and stretches included.
Wills works on strength, explosiveness and speed to help aid Gib’s performances in the ring.
And having come down in weight, he also has a nutritionist on board, like he did in his 2020 loss to Jake Paul, to help instead put on size.

Wills revealed: “We’re in constant communication.
“She’ll ask me what type of sessions he’s having this week and I’ll explain to her whether it’s like a high impact session, or a demanding or light session, so we can balance the calories and X, Y, Z.”
Wills has worked with big stars from the crossover boxing world, including KSI, 29, and his brother Deji, 26.
But he is also part of Riley’s camp, who continues to improve as an 8-0 prospect with five knockouts.
Gib has trained alongside all three and Wills said: “He’s a workhorse, very competitive.
“If I make him train alongside someone, he’s going to make sure he’s beating him or doing the workout faster etc.
“But they’re all good. They’re all different in their own right. Some can’t do certain exercises, some can, so everything is tailored to that specific athlete.

“And that’s the thing with S&C, it’s not one size fits all. It has to be tailored, they all fight different.”
Gib was stopped in one round by Paul in his professional debut.
But he has bounced back with two wins since, against Americans Tayler Holder and Austin McBroom.
And after six months out of the ring, Gib announced he had signed onto KingPyn’s eight-man winner-take-all tournament.
Amazingly, he drew McBroom in the quarter-final with the rivals rematching on Saturday at Wembley Arena.
And Gib enters the knockout tournament as a favourite to win it all.
Wills said: “He has experience now, he’s been doing it for probably the longest. He’s got power, he’s got the best engine in the game – in the game totally.
