Has Dillon Danis pulled out of the Logan Paul fight?
Dillon Danis has astonishingly hinted that he’s pulling out of his fight with Logan Paul.
30-year-old Danis started training in ji jitsu at the age of 15 and is a black belt under Marcelo Garcia, as part of a generation of grapplers produced by the respected Alliance New York Academy.
In 2016 he was invited to become a coach and main grappling training partner of Conor McGregor ahead of the Notorious’ fight against Nate Diaz for UFC 202.
Danis has been friends with McGregor ever since.

He hasn’t competed in many fights as an MMA fighter, but has an unbeaten record of 2-0 — winning both of his bouts by submission.
He was set to make his boxing debut later this month in a fight against Logan Paul, until his unexpected online activity called the match-up into question.
The MMA fighter tweeted a clip of  talking about the pair’s ongoing legal battles, saying: “Logan bragging about lawsuits again he isn’t built for the fight game, this p**** doesn’t deserve me I’m out.”
In response, Logan said on his Impaulsive podcast: “I’m convinced he’s not going to show up.

“The clause is this: If he pulls out because of some sort of injury that he fakes, a doctor of our choosing has to verify the injury.
“And then if he is indeed faking it, he has to pay $100,000. There is a pull-out clause.”
Paul added: “He’s broke. This guy sucks. He’s a parasite of the MMA and combat world.
“That’s why I took the fight initially. If he does show up, I get to be the one. I get to be the one to take an eraser and remove him from existence.
“His name will never be uttered again. He’ll die that night, twice.”
Danis’ stand-in, UFC legend Mike Perry, added to the speculation by tweeting a video of himself saying: “It’s official guys, I’m in.”
SunSport understands Danis is yet to officially withdraw, despite his cryptic social media post and Perry’s claim.
Danis subsequently followed up with another post on X — the platform previously known as Twitter — saying: “Sheesh you all take everything so seriously.”
He later tweeted a picture of himself training along with the words: “I’ll be there fight night everyone can calm down”
And yet another follow-up tweet said: “See you October 14th p**** boy”.
The final post heavily implies that the fight will in fact go ahead as originally planned, despite all the drama.
When is the Dillon Danis vs Logan Paul fight?
Danis will face Paul on the undercard of KSI vs Tommy Fury on Saturday, October 14.
The fight will take place at the AO Arena in Manchester.

The pair face off in a crossover fight that will see MMA star Ngannou make his boxing debut against the world heavyweight champion.
But despite Ngannou’s relative novice status, it would seem that boxing legend Mike Tyson still thinks he could pull off a HUGE shock.
The former undisputed world heavyweight champion is helping Ngannou with his training and after keeping a close eye on him, he seems convinced of his ability.
But not only does Tyson think Ngannou can win the fight, he reckons that he will be able to knock The Gyspy King out too.

Speaking to the Mail Online, he said: “I am helping Ngannou. I am learning what he is able to do. He’s able to do so much more than I anticipated.
“He has what it takes to knockout anything or anybody standing in his way. Once he lands a punch on Tyson Fury’s jaw he is going to knock him out too. Nobody can survive that.”
And even Fury seems aware that the fight will be tougher than most people are anticipating.
The undefeated champ said: “I think he’s going to be a bit of a bigger, tougher challenge than these other guys. These other guys are just boxers, this guy’s more than that.”

I sparred champ with 100% KO ratio… his punches felt like being hit with a POLE and he left gym-mates black and blue

WHEN Dan Azeez was picked up in Toronto to spar with Artur Beterbiev he could not believe what he got himself in for. The WBC, IBF and WBO champion called on Azeez’s services last year and brought the Londoner out to his Canada training base.
Dan Azeez with light-heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev
But when Azeez caught a lift from the airport with one of the sparring partners already out there, reality set in.
He told SunSport: “I jumped in his car and he turned around to look at me and he was black eyed, lips huge, everything.
“I said, ‘Surely you weren’t sparring Beterbiev?’ He goes, ‘Yep.’ I was like, ‘Oh no! What advice would you give me?’
“He said, ‘Just keep your hands up.’ I said, ‘What kind of advice is that?’ But that was funny.”

Beterbiev is not only one of the best fighters in the world but also one of the hardest.
He currently reigns as boxing’s only champ with a 100 per cent knockout ratio having stopped all 19 of his opponents.
And Azeez can attest to just how heavy-handed the Russian is.
He said: “Oh, it was horrible. It was like getting hit with a pole. It was horrible.”

Beterbiev cuts a stoic look when he fights, wearing all black and rarely cracking a smile.
But Azeez – who fights Joshua Buatsi next – revealed behind the Terminator persona is actually a puncher with personality.
He said: “It was weird because he doesn’t speak too much English, he comes in and just smashes everybody up!
“But as the weeks went on with him, he’s got a sense of humour, he’ll make jokes and what not.
“It’s weird he reminds me of Buatsi, very devilish in the ring, he’s got that spite but outside of the ring such a nice, humble, respectful person.
“Beterbiev is the exact same person. In the ring, mate you don’t even want to spend one second in there but outside he’s funny, give you advice, nice guy.”
Azeez, 34, prepares to put friendship aside with Buatsi, 30, for their London derby at the O2 Arena on October 21.
And the winner will be next in line for the WBA belt held by Dmitry Bivol, 32, currently the only title not held by Beterbiev, 38.
A win for Azeez over Buatsi puts him next in line for Bivol and he is full of confidence thanks to his gruelling rounds in North America.
Azeez said: “It gave me a real confidence boost because if I can spar and be in there with him and as the weeks went on, I was getting better and better with him, I could take his shots and power.

“It really let me know, I’m not too far off that level. Don’t get me wrong, I won’t mix my words they’re at that top elite level. But I know I’m not too far.”

Andy Murray told me to f*** off after late night request at Beijing 2008 Olympics, reveals Billy Joe Saunders

BILLY JOE SAUNDERS was told to “f**k off” by Sir Andy Murray after asking him for a cheeky game of FIFA.The pair were unlikely Team GB team-mates at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, in which the nation took home a total of 51 medals.

Unwinding and not spending every waking moment thinking about their upcoming outing is key for any athlete, let alone those cooped up in the Olympic Village.
Saunders looked to take one of his welterweight matches off his mind one night with a game of FIFA, which he invited Murray to play.
But he was met with a hostile response from the Brit Tennis legend.
“Another example of how immature I was happened in the Olympic Village, where obviously all of the athletes from every sport stay together,” Saunders said during an appearance on Up Front with Simon Jordan.

“One night I knocked on Andy Murray’s door at midnight asking if he wanted to play FIFA, when he had a match the next day.
“That’s how childish I was mentally. Andy basically just told me to f**k off really.
“I can’t remember exactly what was said but it was along those lines.
“It was basically just, ‘What are you doing?’ Then he slammed the door shut.”

Saunders’ self-confessed “childish mentality” almost saw him kicked off the team before the tournament had even started.
The former WBO super-middleweight champion revealed: “I actually nearly never ended up going to the Olympics.
“I almost got sent home before it started in my training camp.
“It was me and Frankie Gavin and he was struggling to make weight, so we weren’t allowed out of the training camp.
“Me and Frankie decided to steal two jet skis outside of the hotel.
“We thought two people were chasing us when we were using them out at sea, so me and him started doing ‘moonies’ to them.”
Saunders, 34, hasn’t fought since losing his 168lb title to Canelo Alvarez over two years ago but is eyeing a December return to the ring.

I could have fought for Floyd Mayweather after he tried to sign me… but I rejected boxing legend to finish uni degree

JOSHUA BUATSI had the offer of a lifetime to sign for boxing legend Floyd Mayweather – but education came first. Mayweather was blown away by Buatsi’s performances in the 2016 Olympics in Rio, where he won bronze for Team GB.

Buatsi studied Management with Sports Science at uniCredit: News Group Newspapers Ltd
At the time, the light-heavyweight had amazingly juggled his elite amateur boxing career with studying at St Mary’s University in Twickenham.
And he had just one year left to finish by the time Mayweather offered him the chance to put pen to paper on a massive deal.
But Buatsi – who also wanted to announce himself to the British boxing fans – made the call to turn down Mayweather’s approach.
He told SunSport: “Firstly, I had to go back to uni, so I didn’t turn professional straight away and I didn’t at that time fancy going to America like that.

“I wanted to turn pro in England and box in front of English fans but it’s true, Floyd gave me a number and said, ‘If you want to make money, call this number.’
“I said, ‘Thanks.’ As I was walking away again he said, ‘My man, if you want to make money, call this number.’
“But I was in my last year of uni and I didn’t want to waste it. So after the games I went back to uni. I knew that I didn’t want to be in the States that early in my career.
“And there were things that I had to do, for example finishing my degree, before making the move so that was quite important for me.

“I’m not saying it was an easy decision but it wasn’t particularly hard for me to say, ‘Let me complete my degree then make the move.’”
Brains and brawn Buatsi later celebrated a 2:1 degree in Management with Sports Science before turning pro with Eddie Hearn in 2017.
And he has been touted as one to watch ever since, racing to a 17-0 record ahead of his next fight – which will be his biggest to date.
Buatsi, 30, prepares to put friendship aside on October 21 to fight good pal Dan Azeez, 34, in a London derby at the O2 Arena.
The winner will be next in line for the WBA title held by Dmitry Bivol, 32, meaning there is more than local bragging rights on the line.
Buatsi said: “It’s my next fight so that makes it the biggest one for me.
“Dan is someone I know but also someone that is in very good form so I need to show up to beat a very good guy.
“I’d say it’s the biggest one yet.”
