Matchroom Boxing chief Hearn doubted his golden boy’s second grudge match with Whyte would sell out the North Greenwich dome, revealing his scepticism in a recent interview.
It didn’t take long for Whyte to get wind of the clip, on which he commented: “What a c**t.”
Hearn revealed his doubts about the selling power of the fight in an interview with Boxing UK, saying: “‘I made a mistake.
“I started looking at Twitter and I started to let people dim my light.

Former two-time heavyweight champion Joshua will bid to pick up his second win on the bounce in his domestic dust-up with Whyte.
A multi-million-pound December dust-up with former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder will await Joshua should he get past Whyte again.
But Hearn admitted to talkSPORT: “I don’t know how the Whyte fight goes.
“But we’ve been told categorically that the deal on the table is not the deal if he loses to Dillian Whyte.

“They didn’t want him to fight Dillian Whyte.
“It was almost like, ‘Please, don’t fight Dillian Whyte.
“‘You don’t need to. We’ve got this fight in December.’ But AJ was like, ‘No. I want to fight.'”

The Saudi showdown was booked just months after The Gypsy King’s proposed undisputed title fight with pound-for-pound king Usyk fell through.
And undefeated Ukrainian Usyk has derided Fury’s decision to face the MMA man by jokingly calling out McGregor – the biggest name in the history of the sport.
He told SecondsOut: “I have no ambitions besides one ambition – it’s to fight Tyson Fury.
“I saw that Conor McGregor put some significant weight on his body.

“Hey Conor, why don’t we make a fight at Wembley?”
The mouthwatering showdown between Usyk and Fury fell through after very public negotiations.
An end-of-year showdown was mooted but is now up in smoke as Fury has opted to fight Ngannou on October 28.
Usyk will now defend his unified heavyweight titles against Fury’s stablemate and fellow Brit Daniel Dubois in Poland on August 26.

When pressed further on Fury’s latest outing, Usyk told Sky Sports: “This is a great opportunity for Francis Ngannou.
“For Tyson Fury, it’s definitely not.
“Doesn’t it seem strange that instead of choosing a top 10 guy, Tyson Fury’s choosing a guy who has never boxed before?”
Usyk, 36, believes Fury’s decision to throw down with Ngannou was driven by fear of losing their undisputed clash.

He said: “Of course [he’s afraid of me[. Of course.
“Greedy belly is afraid of me.”
Fury’s clash with Ngannou will be a ten-round affair but the Brit’s WBC title will NOT be on the line.
The fight will be under Queensberry boxing rules, although it’s unclear whether or not it will go on both men’s professional records. More

But her coach Tibbs believes Brooke has the ability and attributes to one day cross over to the pro ranks.
He told SunSport: “She’s a natural athlete for sure. She’s strong, she’s agile and when you give her an instruction she carries is out.
“It’s not always perfect straight away but she works at it and it comes.”
The pair were introduced to each other by IBF bantamweight champion Ebanie Bridges.

Tibbs – a well-schooled amateur boxer – had to build Brooke from the ground upwards as she walked into the gym a raw novice.
He said: “You have a look, you bring in certain sparring partners that you can work with and not have fights.
“You work on tactics, you work on footwork and placing the shots so it’s all broken down like that.
“Each and every fighter is different, every trainer has a system and according to who your client or fighter is you have to tweak that system to get them to the places you think you can get them to.

“It’s been a bit of a fast track but we’re doing it, we’re not there yet but it’s an ongoing process, even for me as a trainer.”
Tibbs has trained the likes of Dillian Whyte and Billy Joe Saunders but kept an open mind when celebrity Brooke came into his gym doors.
He said: “To be honest with you, I look at it a little bit different, I look at the client who I want to get ready for the fights.
“And as long as I’ve got a rapport and I feel they can get somewhere in the sport that’s all I focus on.
“I focus on getting them ready for a fight. I always have an open mind, I’m enjoying it and she’s a pleasure to work with.”
“When you’re working with a novice it’s alway hard work but if that novice wants to work with me, we’ll get them to places she could only dream of.

Carl Froch reignites Conor McGregor feud as he calls his whiskey ‘s***’ and reveals what would happen in crossover fight

CARL FROCH has reignited his feud with Conor McGregor by calling Proper 12 whiskey “s***” and warning him off a crossover fight. The bad blood goes back to 2017 when Froch was a commentator for McGregor’s blockbuster bout with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather.

Conor McGregor has feuded Carl Froch in recent years
He criticised the UFC star’s punch power and it sparked the rivalry which is still brewing to this day.
Froch told Betting Sites: “Conor McGregor was talking s***, wasn’t he? Talking nonsense about me and piping up.
“Then I think he realised that actually, if he takes me on in my discipline in boxing, it’s going to be even worse than what happened to him when he fought Mayweather.
“Mayweather is a quality fighter, but he’s small, he’s a light boxer. I’m quite heavy and I’m even heavier now.

“Been retired for nine years and I keep myself in shape. So I think he realises that you don’t want to be getting in the boxing ring with me which is fair enough.”
Froch, 46, retired in 2014 after knocking out George Groves in front of 80,000 at Wembley Stadium.
Meanwhile McGregor, 34, is yet to return to the UFC for over two years and has not boxed since defeat to Mayweather.
And Froch added: “Conor McGregor, I’ve got to be honest, I’ve got loads of respect for him because he’s smashed it.

“He’s had some real tough and brave fights. He’s had his leg snapped, his head smashed in and he’s been choked out.
“He’s made himself a fortune. I’ve got a lot of admiration for him.
“But if a crossover fight between me and Conor McGregor could happen and people wanted to see it, that’s the important thing, then I’d happily participate in a boxing match.”
Froch addded: “Whatever McGregor’s got, if he’s blowing it and spending it and buying Lamborghini boats and being frivolous with it by gambling, I hope he isn’t.
“He’s earned his money the hardest way. He’s got his whiskey brand too but everyone says that whiskey tastes like s*** by the way.”

Oleksandr Usyk not bothered about Tyson Fury’s world title any more as Ukrainian says ‘we just need to fight’

OLEKSANDR USYK doesn’t even care about Tyson Fury’s WBC world title any more – he just wants to beat him up.The 34-year-old Gypsy King turned down a mega-money Saudi Arabia offer to fight Ukraine’s WBA, IBF and WBO champ last year, to decide an undisputed ruler.

The Ukrainian is not even bothered about taking Fury’s belt – he just wants to fightCredit: AP
And when they tried to renegotiate for a Wembley showdown Fury made so many demands for purse splits and rematch clauses that the 36-year-old walked away and accepted on August 26 mandatory defence against Daniel Dubois instead.
London 2012 gold winner Usyk has always dreamed of replicating his four-belt cruiserweight dominance up in the blue-riband division.
But Fury will instead face MMA giant Francis Ngannou in a ten-round crossover exhibition in Saudi Arabia.
Usyk said: “I don’t think about Fury at all, I just need to meet him in the ring.

“I don’t care about the belt any more. I need him. The WBC title is just a little extra motivation but the people and the fans just need to see us fight.
“We need to fight, we need to fight. People will talk about this fight for 20, 30, 40 years so we need to have the fight.
Usyk has been called almost every possible expletive by the Morecambe showman, with “gap-toothed rabbit” the least offensive.
But the moustachioed mastermind is too cool to hurl insults when he would much prefer to throw his fists in Fury’s direction.

“He’s beautiful,” Usyk said about the undefeated 20st superstar. “He’s funny.”
Team Usyk won the purse bid and are holding the bout in the Polish city of Wroclaw, where around 200,000 Ukrainians are believed to have taken refuge from the Russian invasion.
It is the closest the southpaw can get to fighting in his ravaged homeland and it sounds like he is keener than ever to put on a show for his people, on the weekend of their annual Independence celebrations.
“I think highly of Dubois,” he grinned in traditional Cossack clothes.
“He’s a nice guy and a good athlete.
People will talk about this fight for 20, 30, 40 years so we need to have the fightUsyk on facing Fury
“I have all the respect for him and his team but we need to finish talking and see each other on August 26.
“I am going to destroy my enemy and bring peace.”
Dynamite Dan is a 9-1 longshot with some bookies – after losing to Joe Joyce in 2020 and getting dropped three times in the first round of his December win over unknown Kevin Lerena.
But he wants to upset the applecart and odds with a destructive changing of the guard.
“Usyk has been a great champion but the belts will come home with me,” he said.
“I need to outdo him at everything, I need to unleash hell on this guy.

“I was born for this. Everything has led to me getting here. I am different and you guys will see that.
