Tyson Fury thinks it’s ‘sad’ Mike Tyson is ‘going against him’ after being named after boxing legend

TYSON FURY thinks it is “sad” that Mike Tyson is coaching against him for his fight with Francis Ngannou. The unbeaten WBC world champion was named after the Baddest Man on The Planet by his dad John.

But they will be in opposite corners on October 28 in Saudi Arabia when Tyson corners Ngannou against the Gypsy King.
And Fury hit back to Sky Sports: “I think that it’s sad, actually.
“The man that I am named after, a legend, has to go against me and then come out as a loser, having lost to a man who was named after him.
“I think that it’s sad and I think that he should be in my corner, not the opposing corner, but business is business and I understand that it’s strictly business.”

The two heavyweight superstars will collide in a massive crossover clash in the boxing ring.
It comes after Ngannou, 37, walked out on the UFC to pursue the mega-money boxing switch.
But Fury, 35, insisted no matter who will be on his coaching team it will matter little to the outcome of the fight.
He added: “No matter what he teaches this fella, no matter how much boxing training he does, everyone has got a plan until they get punched in the face.

“And I’m not sure who said that, but that is true. They’ve all got a plan until they get smacked in the mouth.”
Fury guessed that his career is so legendary it has led Tyson to plot his downfall by coaching against him.
He said: “I must have said something to offend him.
“I haven’t spoke to him, but it must be that I’ve outdone him, longer-reigning champion than he was. Maybe he’s upset about that. I don’t know.”

Social media sensation KSI – real name Olajide Olatunji – goes into his showdown with Tommy as a huge underdog.
But to say he’s brimming with confidence ahead of the Manchester melee would be an understatement.
During a live stream with the controversial Adin Ross, he said: “I’m trying to put a million down on myself.”
KSI quickly revealed that bookmakers will allow him to bet on himself, just not the eyewatering figure he wants to lay down.

Former Love Island star Fury goes into his punch-up with KSI on the back of a split-decision win over Jake Paul in February.

He told Sky Sports: “That’s my plan for this year.
“I want to end YouTube boxing within twelve months. So that’s my plan. So we’ll see.”
He continued: “I don’t know. I take it one fight at a time. All these guys are the same to me.

Tyson Fury blasts Anthony Joshua as ‘big bum-dosser’ and sends him to ‘back of the queue’ as he says megafight is ‘dead’

TYSON FURY insists a historic Battle of Britain with Anthony Joshua is “dead” in the water until his rival proves himself worthy of another world title shot. The Gypsy King has twice been close to locking horns with his Brit rival but the mouthwatering showdown has, so far, failed to come to fruition.

British boxing fans are still eager for the pair to settle their feud, although Fury currently has no interest in the once-in-a-lifetime domestic dust-up.
The WBC heavyweight champ, 35, told The Daily Mail: “I don’t really care what he says. He’s a bum in my opinion.
“He’s just one big bum-dosser that has been knocked out three times.
“He’s been knocked out twice and had three losses. He can’t even compare in my league any more.

“It’s not even a fight I am thinking about any more. I’m not even interested.”
Fury and Joshua were on course to take part in a two-fight series before Deontay Wilder won his arbitration for a trilogy fight with the former.
AJ went on to suffer back-to-back defeats to unified heavyweight champ Oleksandr Usyk after the fight collapsed.
Fury said of the Watford warrior’s recent woes: “That bubble has been burst.

“His virginity has been taken away so it’s not interesting for me any more.
“He’s been spanked by Usyk twice and been beaten by a fat man.
“So it’s not in my interest to beat him.”
Fury has held up the division by taking a controversial crossover clash with former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, who he meets in Saudi Arabia on October 28.
And he insists the Predator poses more of a threat than AJ ever would, saying: “I am fighting a guy who is in his prime, who is a champion.

“Who is bigger than him, who is stronger than him and who is a bigger knockout puncher than him.
“He needs to get to the back of the queue. That fight is gone, it’s dead.

Shock Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk date revealed by Gypsy King’s promoter who insists Ukrainian star ‘wants the fight’

TYSON FURY’S long-overdue undisputed heavyweight title fight with Oleksandr Usyk could take place as early as December.Fury’s constant moving of the goalposts during negotiations earlier this year laid waste to the pair’s proposed April Wembley war.

That paved the way for the Gypsy King to throw down with former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou in a controversial crossover clash next month.
Team Fury are treating the lucrative Saudi showdown as a potential warm-up fight and aren’t ruling out a quick turnaround for an end-of-year straightener with boxing’s former pound-for-pound king.
When asked for a potential date for the fight, Fury co-promoter Bob Arum told Sky Sports: “Probably be early next year, but it could happen as early as December.”
Arum expects both sides to come to a quick and amicable agreement when talks eventually resume – despite the farcical public negotiations that took place earlier this year.

The 91-year-old Top Rank chief insisted: “It won’t be hard to make. I know the Usyk people, they’re nice people.
“His manager, his promoter, they’re terrific people. Usyk himself is a terrific guy. I think he wants that fight.
“I think that fight’s going to happen and hopefully it will happen sooner rather than later.”
Should Fury become the first undisputed ruler of the heavyweight division since Lennox Lewis 24 years ago, Arum expects him to have “two more fights” before calling it quits.

The veteran promoter said: “I would like to see him (Fury) fight Usyk.
“I think once he fights Usyk, and assuming he beats Usyk, then I think he’ll do a victory lap, maybe two more fights, and let the younger guys take over.”
Arum’s hopes to have Fury unify the division once and for all, however, could be scuppered by the Wythenshawe warrior himself.
Fury, 35, recently told The Daily Mail: “I am not interested in fighting Usyk, he’s a little Ukrainian dosser.
“That’s all he is to me. No interest in unifying the division. It doesn’t mean s*** to me.

“All that stuff about unifying and whatever, it really doesn’t mean anything to me.
“I am looking for the biggest payday. Most of the time, Usyk doesn’t cut it.
“He’s just a foreign person who doesn’t speak good English, so you can’t really sell him.

Tyson, 35, has only been in trouble a handful of times in his title-laden run, being knocked down in his 2013 clash with Steve Cunningham and in two of his three fights with Deontay Wilder.
Paris has seen her hubby have his hand raised after each of his pro fights, but that doesn’t stop her from fearing the worst when he goes into battle.
The Gypsy King told The Daily Mail: “It must be horrible knowing your husband can be killed in a fight.

Fury has been open about his desire to keep fighting until he can no longer maintain his high levels in the gym and in the ring.

The finances have been agreed but promoter Eddie Hearn is struggling to find a new venue for the fight after Saudi withdrew their interest.
There are now serious doubts over the heavyweight barnburner coming to fruition, which has prompted rival promoter Frank Warren to pitch a domestic dust-up with Dubois to AJ,
The Queensberry Promotions chief told iFL TV: “I’ll tell you what would be a good fight if that one doesn’t happen, a good fight in the UK.

I’m a deaf boxer dubbed ‘Quiet Storm’ – I was beaten up by bullies but now I’ll be a champion with Jake Paul

A DEAF boxer who was beaten up by bullies as a kid is fighting back after signing with influencer Jake Paul. American Julian Smith, 32, boasts a 7-2 record in his short career so far – but his talent is undeniable.

Dubbed “Quiet Storm”, the 5ft 9in welterweight recently signed with social media megastar and one of the new faces of boxing, Jake Paul.
But Julian went through hell to end up in the boxing ring as a deaf competitor.
He smashed his way to success without hearing any words from his coaches or any corner advice during rounds.
The boxer can’t hear the referee’s instructions – or the ringing of the bell when the fighting ends.
    READ MORE IN SPORTS
His coach, Rafeal Ruiz, told The Sun how he came up with creative ways to communicate while Julian was in the ring – such as using coloured towels.
“Julian has to consistently adjust during the fight,” he said.
Fighting out of City Club Hills in Illinois, Julian first learnt to box with his brother Brandon Smith – a boy seven years older and a whole world wiser back when they were teens.
Brandon gave Julian a pair of red boxing gloves and taught him how to take a punch – and not be afraid to give one back.

His mum was his biggest source of encouragement after she found him being bullied and brutally beat up regularly by kids for being deaf.
The boxing star contracted meningitis when he was six-months-old – leading to a serious hearing impairment that left him unable to hear.
As a young child growing up in Chicago, many kids his age didn’t understand the issues Julian faced every day – meaning he was picked on and singled out.
Using sign language with the help of his mum, Julian told The Ring: “I was very much teased and picked on. It was ignorance.
“No one could understand a kid who is different.
“There were no deaf people around. They may have heard about deaf people, but never came in contact with deaf people.
“They just jumped me because I was different. I went to a special school so the kids in the area didn’t know me. I only had friends at school.”
Julian’s brother Brandon – who had been a huge source of support – tragically died in 2012 due to gun violence.
Julian was left even more determined to fight for a living – and prove to his brother that he was a warrior.
The boxer recalled being told to keep fighting until you can’t fight anymore by Brandon in the gym.
Rafeal is Julian’s cut man and coach, but he considers himself a friend, mentor and protector after knowing the boxer for 10 years.
Julian first came to Rafeal’s attention when the young man came into the gym looking to achieve his goal of winning world championships.
The gym’s head trainer at the time, Perry Scott, asked for Rafeal’s help as he hadn’t trained a deaf fighter before.
When Julian was an amateur fighter, Rafeal and the team used colour-coded towels to communicate with Julian when he was in the ring.
“We couldn’t shout commands, but by waving a coloured towel Julian would see the towel and know what to change up,” Rafeal told The Sun.
“Each colour had its own meaning whether to throw an upper cut, go to the body, or come forward.”
But since turning professional, they’ve evolved their methods.
“We have increased Julian’s boxing IQ, and we train him repeatedly on what to do with little or no instruction until he comes back to the corner,” Rafeal said.
“Julian has to consistently adjust during the fight.
“In addition, Julian now has a professional sign language interpreter to assist in the corner between rounds and at each match we inform the referee that Julian is deaf, and he needs assistance that the round has ended.
“The referees are usually pretty good at stepping in between Julian and the opponent when the bell rings.”
Julian communicates through sign language and often has his mum by his side to help translate his feelings and thoughts to others.
On the official Julian Smith website, he credits his beloved mum for the success he’s found in life.
“She would not allow my disability to stop me from manoeuvring through life’s obstacles,” he said.
“My mum persisted to never give up without a fight.”
Now he fights for a living, appearing on shows as the main event – and signed with Jake Paul.
Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions banner signed Julian on May 26 this year – causing a social media frenzy of support after his story was told throughout fight week on DAZN.
He’s gone on to fight twice on Jake Paul’s cards, winning one and losing his debut.
His career has already seen major success – not only by normalising deaf athletes, but also in the ring where he has an impressive 84-7 amateur boxing record.
He’s a two-time Chicago Golden Gloves champion and has won five belts as an amateur including a WBC version.
Julian said: “People assume I’m dumb because I can’t hear.
“I always want to prove to other people that we’re all the same.
“I want people to respect me.
“Hard-of-hearing people do have issues communicating, but you always have to respect people that have disabilities.”
Julian said being deaf has its advantages, such as tuning out pre-fight trash talk from his opponents and crowd noise that could be distracting or nerve-wracking.
Like Julian, deaf Mexican fighter Luis Gerado Castillo and his coach have come up with creative a way to communicate with each other during fights.
The boxer knows when to change game plans and tactics by his coach moving the ring ropes and hitting the mat.
