Fury has been an advocate of mental health amid his own battle which saw him lose his world titles and balloon up to nearly 30 stone.
But it inspired one of sport’s greatest ever comebacks after the Gypsy King returned to boxing to win the belts again.
Now the heavyweight hero is encouraging others to speak out and hailed Volkanovski for his post-fight admission.
Fury, 35, told The Mac Life: “I have been in that situation all year.

“I’ve not boxed since last year, early-December of 2022 and there was a lot of uncertainty [about] if I would even box again.
“Out of the blue, all of this has come, and I’ve not got one fight but two fights lined up.
“What I would say to Alexander is keep going. You know, he’s a very good professional athlete and you win some, you lose some.
“Dust yourself off, get back in there and kick a***.”

Volkanovski filled in for Charles Oliveira on just 11 days’ notice to rematch lightweight champ Makhachev in Abu Dhabi.
Volkanovski, 35, had been beaten by Makhachev, 31, on points in his initial 155lb title challenge in February but beat Yair Rodriguez in July.
And the Australian legend revealed the mental battle he had fought during the three months of not being in training camp.
Volkanovski said: “It is hard. It really is hard for athletes.
“I never thought I’d struggle with it but for some reason when I wasn’t fighting or in camp…”
Volkanovski had to pause to gather his thoughts before adding: “F***, sorry. It (not being in camp) was just doing my head in.
“So when this opportunity came up, I’ll be honest I wasn’t training as much as I should’ve, but I thought I had to do it.
“Had to take it. I thought it would be… I was telling myself it was meant to be. I was doing my head in not fighting.

“Don’t know why. I’ve got a beautiful family. I think you just need to keep busy. So I ask the UFC to keep me busy.
“I need to be in camp or I’m gunna do my head in. I’ll leave it at that.”

Tommy Fury lays out two brutal demands for KSI rematch as brother Tyson claims Love Island star should get paid DOUBLE

TOMMY FURY has laid out his demands to rematch KSI – while brother Tyson claimed he should be getting paid DOUBLE this time around. Love Islander Tommy walked away with a controversial points win over YouTube, music and crossover boxing star KSI.
Tyson Fury said brother Tommy deserves to be paid double in a rematch with KSI
Tommy Fury is open to rematch KSI
But the six-rounder proved to be a scrappy affair with little to separate the celebrity pair.
Tommy slammed KSI for his unorthodox tactics but insisted he is ready for a rematch – so long as he adopts a more conventional style.
Tyson, 35, asked: “Are you ready for the rematch?”
Tommy, 24, replied: “If he stops the star jumps and stops the hugging we can get it on.”

Tyson followed up: “How many weeks notice do you need?”

And, according to big brother Tyson, the WBC heavyweight world champion, he has done so while making millions.
In fact Tyson claimed Tommy raked in over £8MILLION from this month’s fight with KSI alone.
Tyson, 35, said on The MMA Hour: “Well, I can be brutally honest because we always are.
“The fact that Tommy made $10million in his fight, he’s 24-year’s-old, he’s probably made $25-26million [£20-21m] out of his ten-fight career, it’s unbelievable.
“I’m very, very proud of where he’s come from. In 2018, Tommy didn’t have $10 for a bus pass.
“Today, Tommy’s got a hell of a lot of money in his account. Millions of dollars in his account so I’m very proud of him.
“He can buy what he wants, he’s got a $5millon mansion, G-wagons, Lambos, Rolexs, the guy’s flying.

Fury was a guest on reporter Helwani’s MMA Hour
And he took exception to the host having a signed Ngannou glove on his desk.
Fury said: “I’m pretty p****d though that you’ve got a Francis Ngannou boxing glove right there but you don’t have Tyson Fury anything.
    “So f*** you!”
Helwani went onto explain that Ngannou’s team had sent him the memorabilia and asked why Fury’s hadn’t.

But the Gypsy King fumed at the fight being announced before he shares the ring with Ngannou, 37.

He said: “It wasn’t my choice. I would never in a million years do that.
“But the people who are putting these fights on, who are paying the money, they’re in control. They’re the promoters of the event.
“So the paymaster does what the paymaster wants, basically. But if it was up to me, I would have never, ever, ever done that. Ever. Because I never count chickens before they hatch. Ever.
“I wasn’t happy at first, for them to announce it, but there was a lot going on in the background.
“For me, I don’t concentrate on any other fight other than Saturday night. What happens in the future stays in the future. I’m living for today and this moment.
“My moment now is to fight Francis for the baddest man on the planet title, and when I’ve won that, only after I’ve won that — I won’t even think about my next until I’ve had a week off and spent some time with my family.
“I’ve been in camp 12 weeks — I’ll think about what’s happening next.”

WORLD Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury is a man of many talents. As well as being a master of the art of boxing, the Gypsy King has also been known to belt out a song or two.

Why does Tyson Fury sing American Pie?
Tyson Fury likes to sing American Pie because the song’s verses “perfectly articulate Fury’s comeback story”, according to NME.
In October 2016, with an anti-doping case hanging over his head in relation to his use of cocaine and nandrolone, Fury vacated his WBA, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles and admitted he came close to ending his life.
He has since made a remarkable comeback, going on to become a two-time world heavyweight champion by defeating Deontay Wilder for his WBC belt and defending it on three occasions.
Speaking about his fightback in 2018, Fury said: “If I can come back from the brink of defeat, I can do anything.

“I’ve shown what life is like on the other side of having no hope, nothing.
“But I know now it’s about being in a good place and the good is so much better than the bad.
“I’m sat here in a great frame of mind, and that’s worth anything that money can buy.
“At one stage I thought I would end up in a padded room never mind boxing, I didn’t think I was going to survive, I was on the verge of committing suicide.”

When did Tyson Fury first sing American Pie?
Tyson first sang American Pie at a press conference in the build-up to his first fight against Wilder.
Following that match-up with the Brown Bomber in December 2018, which ended in a controversial draw, Fury celebrated his performance by singing McLean’s song again at the post-fight press conference.
The heavyweight world champion has previous experience duetting with a singer too, appearing on Robbie William’s song Bad Sharon in 2019.
In 2019 Fury sang American Pie twice more — at a Nordoff Robbins charity event and during a Q&A style event in Glasgow.
Naturally, the Brit also sang American Pie when he reclaimed the world title by beating Wilder in 2020.
He has gone on to sing it a great many times, including on stage with Towie star Arg in Marbella, at a wild party in Las Vegas, while training on a beach in his hometown of Morecambe, after knocking out WWE start Austin Theory, and also at a glitzy charity event — to name but a few.
Have Tyson Fury and Don McLean collaborated on the song in the past?
Ahead of defending his heavyweight title against Dillian White in April 2022, Tyson joined forces with legendary singer-songwriter Don McLean to record a version of American Pie.
McLean’s famous hit, which has nearly 500million listens on Spotify, had a new spin put on it with Fury joining in on the chorus.
His duet with McLean concided with the 50th anniversary of the song and first aired on BT Sport — it was shown live at Wembley ahead of his successful title defence against Whyte.
What other songs is Tyson Fury known to sing?
Although his crooning may not be at the level of his pugilism, Fury doesn’t limit his repertoire to American Pie.
The other song he is most famous for singing is Neil Diamond’s Sweet Caroline, which Tyson even released as a charity single to raise money for a mental health charity.
The heavyweight champ sang Aerosmith tune I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing to wife Paris beating Tom Schwarz in 2019, belted out Oasis’ Don’t Look Back In Anger with a busker, serenaded promoter Bob Arum with Happy Birthday, sang with Robbie Williams on a festive duet, and performed We Are The Champions with a busker in Latvia.

He even sang an X-rated song to taunt Anthony Joshua in 2021.
But he did spark outrage by singing the N-word while rapping along to Notorious B.I.G’s Juicy at his 32nd birthday party in 2020. More

Jake Paul appears to debunk KSI vs Tommy Fury PPV sales and claims his bout with Love Island star sold MORE

JAKE PAUL has appeared to debunk the pay-per-view sales of KSI’s fight with Tommy Fury. Fury controversially beat KSI on points in a huge influencer boxing card which also held Logan Paul’s win over Dillon Danis.

According to Happy Punch promotions, who had several of their fighters on the card, the event sold 1.3million PPVs.
But Paul has spoke out to refute this and claimed it did 100,000 LESS than the 800,000-plus his loss to Fury in February brought in.
Responding to a clip of Fury predicting Paul to beat KSI, the American responded: “Hahahaha. KSI is going to appeal this interview.
“700K buys globally they did. Great number. Less than Tommy and I but still a great outcome thanks to Logan being on the card.”

Esteemed wrestling reporter Dave Meltzer said the DAZN PPV sold just 100,000 buys in the US.
So if Paul’s estimations are correct, that would mean only 600,000 box office receipts came in from the UK.

Despite the American’s claim, KSI’s manager Mams Taylor, co-founder of Misfits Boxing who staged the event, hit back.
Taylor posted on X, formerly Twitter: “First of all you and Tommy did 550k Globally (most from UK).

John is still hellbent on sharing the ring with the former undisputed heavyweight champion, so much so that SunSport thought it’d be right to break down an unlikely fight between the duo.

Father Time is well and truly on the side of boxing icon Tyson in this showdown.
Iron Mike, who has seemingly poured cold water on talk of lacing up his gloves again, celebrated his 57th birthday in June.

John also boasts a four-inch reach advantage, with his limbs extending 75 inches compared to Tyson’s 71 inches.

“But clever people and strong people mind and body can adjust and I adjusted early on saying right, ‘I’m not going to get out of this but I thought it’s better than being dead.”
Asked if he got into trouble whilst he was serving time, Fury said: “No no, I didn’t.
