      GEORGE GROVES has predicted Tyson Fury will either rematch Francis Ngannou or RETIRE without ever fighting Oleksandr Usyk. Fury faced ex-UFC champion Ngannou knowing he had already signed to face Usyk in a title unification eight weeks later.

      But the Gypsy King’s expected routine return against boxing debutant Ngannou, 37, in Saudi Arabia turned into a horror show.
      He was dropped in round three and fortunate in the eyes of many to walk away with a split-decision win.
      Having been left battered, bruised and his ego dented, the December 23 Christmas cracker with Usyk faces the KO.
      And former super-middleweight champion Groves fears the heavyweight super-fight may never happen after all.

      He said on Sky Sports:”There is not a chance the Usyk fight is happening on that date.
      “It is not Usyk on December 23, I don’t think it’s Usyk next. I think it’s either Ngannou or that’s the last of Fury.
      “He tells everyone he is the Gypsy King, that he is the man, no fighter can ever beat him.
      “There is someone right now who can beat him and it’s Usyk. A lot of people will think the same.

      “He doesn’t need to roll the dice and get beat off the little gap-toothed Ukrainian guy. He’d rather just sail off into the sunset.
      “He is an interesting character and there are lots of avenues he can explore after boxing. Doors that might be shut on him or not the same if he loses to Usyk.
      “I think he is going to either rectify the last fight against Ngannou, which he will get paid a lot of money for and a lot of people would be interested in.
      “He will train better and show up and perform. Or he might retire.”
      Fury, 35, has refused to confirm the date of his undisputed title decider against Usyk, 36.
      But his promoter Frank Warren has insisted it must be backdated until the new year in order to allow the WBC champ to rest.
      Usyk on the other hand is adamant it must go ahead on December 23 or never as he pours the pressure on Fury before the first bell has even sounded.

      And the Congolese fighter managed to beat his rival in the fourth round via knockout despite some shockingly hard conditions.
      The 30-year-old had to work through the pain dished out by his French opponent.
      But the heavyweight also had to manage some extra agony as a wasp flew in the ring and stung him inside his mouth before being swallowed.

      Bakole told iFLTV: “I can’t believe it, I’m surprised. I’m still coughing until now.
      “It stung me in the ring, then I was surprised it was in my mouth.
      “It started from [my ear], went to my eyes, then I was surprised when I opened my mouth and it went in.
      “I was vomiting in my changing room. I think it’s still here [in my throat], but I think I will be okay. I can feel it, it’s crazy.

      “I think if it continues, I’ll just go to the hospital, because I can’t continue coughing like this.”
      Bakole, though, is still keen to return to the ring for another major heavyweight clash.
      The Congolese star called out Deontay Wilder, who has been in talks to box Anthony Joshua.
      Bakole said: “He’s No 1, I’m No 2, why not have the fight?
      “If he’s not ready, they should take him out of the rankings. I need that fight, maybe in December, maybe in January next year.” More

      Now, though, Cordina is IBF super featherweight champion once again and will face the unbeaten Vasquez in Monte Carlo this weekend.

      Conor Benn predicts when he’ll ‘flatten’ Chris Eubank Jr as Eddie Hearn reveals target date for grudge fight

      CONOR BENN has predicted he will “flatten” Chris Eubank Jr as Eddie Hearn revealed a target date for the grudge match. The pair were due to meet in a 157lb catchweight clash last October but it was cancelled just days before due to two failed Benn tests.

      So now it looks as though the welterweight must accept Eubank’s terms to fight at middleweight.
      And according to Hearn, a deal is imminent for the new year, having previously been eyed for December 23.
      He told talkSPORT: “The beef and the bad blood is very real between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr and I would expect it to be after what happened.
      “We want to close that fight in the next seven days. I believe you’re going to see Benn vs Eubank in January, it’s going to be a massive stadium fight in the UK.

      “We’ve still got to get the contract signed and see the ink dry. But that’s the fight we want to make, it’s the only one we’re interested in.
      The two were set to fight nearly 30 years on from their dads’ famous rematch, which ended in a draw.

      Following a video-call hearing with the National Anti-Doping Panel, his provisional suspension was lifted, freeing him to fight again.
      But Benn was forced to do so in America as his row with the BBBoC raged on, as he beat Rodolfo Orozco in Orlando.
      Hearn has teased that talks with the BBBoC could see them finally come on board for the bitter bout between Benn and Eubank.
      Despite the fight nearing the finished line, Eubank Sr actually called for his nephew Harlem, 30, to carry on the family feud.
      And Benn responded: “When I flatten @ChrisEubankJr in 3 rounds the nephew can come in for the encore and I’ll flatten him afterwards for banter.”

      However, the former UFC champion shocked fans as he knocked down the WBC belt holder on his way to a controversial split decision loss.
      Reflecting on Ngannou’s performance, Hearn told talkSPORT: “I can’t believe I’m even saying this, but Francis Ngannou vs Anthony Joshua becomes a huge fight…
      “If I’m Francis Ngannou I’m looking at it saying give me the biggest fight possible and that’s two fights, it’s Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder.
      “They’re the two massive fights for Ngannou, two huge men. But, we’ll see, I can’t even believe we’re talking about this.”

      Joshua is currently without a fight booked after talks to face Deontay Wilder in Saudi Arabia in January collapsed.
      Whilst both camps are said to be looking into a new location, Hearn has tipped a clash with Ngannou in the coming months.
      “AJ wants to fight in December or January,” added the Matchroom Boxing chief. “We have also spoken very briefly to the Ngannou camp to say we’d be willing to look at that fight.
      “I love that fight in Africa, the ‘Rumble in the Jungle 2’ out there would be incredible between two heavyweight giants.

      “But, AJ wants to win the world heavyweight title, that’s the main focus, so whatever route will get him there the quickest, that’s what he wants to do.”

      Meanwhile, Ngannou has also been tipped for a potential bout with Wilder.
      There have even been claims the two could meet in either an MMA or mixed rules bout.
