And Ngannou, 37, called on the help of heavyweight icon Tyson for what will mark his boxing debut.
But Tyson has been quick to reaffirm that he is coaching the Cameroonian powerhouse but is not his lead trainer.
He told GQ: “I’m not a trainer. I’m a coach. A trainer can be bought by anybody. ‘Train this guy. Hey, train this guy,’.
“I’m a coach. I’m loyal to my guy. When he gets beat up, I feel the punches.

Fury was named after boxing’s youngest ever heavyweight champ.
So he was left fuming with the news his idol will be in the opposite corner against him.

“The man that I am named after, a legend, has to go against me and then come out as a loser, having lost to a man who was named after him.
“I think that it’s sad and I think that he should be in my corner, not the opposing corner, but business is business and I understand that it’s strictly business.”
But in response, Tyson said to TNT Sports: “This is business, and he understands.”

Roy Keane had to explain blasting heavyweight boxing as ‘irritating’
He said: “I don’t like any of them. The heavyweight stuff it’s irritating me. So much talk.
“None of them, they both irritate me. I’m not picking anyone.”
Keane ended up coming face to face with Joshua’s promoter Hearn on an episode of The Overlap.
The Manchester United legend stood his ground and said: “That’s right.”

And even Hearn admitted: “I think he’s right. That is the danger of the public going, ‘I’ve had enough. How difficult can it be?'”
Hearn is adamant the great British rivals will share the ring before they leave the sport.
And with the emergence of Saudi Arabia offering huge sums to prise stars over to the Middle East, Hearn predicts a handsome earner for both.
But it would be dependant on Fury beating Oleksandr Usyk and Joshua doing the same against Deontay Wilder.

Hearn said: “They’d make £100million each.
“If Fury beats Usyk and AJ beats Wilder, they’d make over £100million each.”
Hearn has been negotiating a deal for Joshua, 34, to fight Wilder, 37, but it collapsed when Saudi backers pulled out.
It means AJ could instead return in an interim bout before talks with the American can be revisited for the first third of 2024.
Meanwhile Fury, 35, faces ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou, 37, next weekend in a crossover clash in Riyadh.
But he has already signed for a historic first ever four-belt unification bout against Usyk, 36, after.
It leaves a Battle of Britain between Joshua and Fury shelved but Hearn still holds out hope one day getting a deal done.
He said: “It has to be a fight. Even if AJ loses to Wilder, even if Fury loses to Usyk, we have to see that fight.

“She did not sign up for this. I mean she did, she did of course but she didn’t know and neither did I.

Now she has set her sights on more fights, including a scrap with Brooke.
Carla told SunSport: “She’s in Misfits, so I’m sure we will fight each other somewhere along the way.
“We’ve already had our differences. After my fight against Tasha, she came up to me and congratulated me for my win and called me by my name.
“But she’s been saying since she doesn’t know who I am, so I think she’s becoming a bit obsessed with me.

“Online she also said ‘ everybody knows ring girls f*** for free’ about me.
“Well, firstly she’s a porn star. Secondly, none of my personal life is online.
“Ebanie Bridges is her best mate and she was a ring girl. If I was Ebanie, I’d tell Elle to shut her little trap.”

“I just don’t think she’s very skilful boxer,” Carla continued.

“It was more that everyone was talking about her and saying she was really good.
“Then I’m looking at her and I’m thinking she’s not that great. She’s got a good jab and looks the part, but her last performance wasn’t amazing.
“I think she’s begging for fights at the moment just to redeem herself after her defeat to Jully Poca.
“It probably won’t be my next fight, there’s other people to fight first, but I would like to get in the ring with Elle.”
