Wallin has only lost one fight in his 28-bout career with the defeat coming at the hands of Tyson Fury via an unanimous decision in 2019.
The Gypsy King’s father believes Joshua can win this weekend but the decision to fight the man nicknamed All In is a mistake.
John thinks the Brit faces an “uphill battle” and one of the toughest bouts he has ever had.
Fury Sr told Boxing Social: “I’m not so sure again about the people around him, the managing side, picking a man like Wallin.

“He would give anybody a problem, he’s a 6ft 5in southpaw, a good game kid and has one of the best trainers in the world in his corner in Joey Gamache.
“At the end of the day, it’s an uphill battle let’s put it that way.
“Can AJ pull it off? He can. But he’s going to get tested like he has never been tested before.
“I think if I was looking after him I wouldn’t have picked Wallin, no.

🥊ANTHONY JOSHUA VS OTTO WALLIN: ALL THE DETAILS YOU NEED AHEAD OF THRILLING SAUDI CLASH🥊
“When AJ is like he is, he’s on a comeback trail, he’s had a few setbacks, you want a confidence builder.
“And this ain’t a confidence builder, this is a bloody hard fight.”
Despite the criticism of AJ’s team, John praised his decision to work with Ben Davison ahead of the encounter.
The trainer worked with Fury prior to his victory over Wallin four years ago.
On Wilder vs Parker, John admitted it’s a “dangerous” clash for New Zealander but the money even made him jokingly want to fight the American.
However, he was left unsure on how much the Bronze Bomber has in the tank due to him getting in the ring for just one round since losing to Fury in October 2021. More

I KO’d a boxing world champion – then I went to jail for assault and had to hang out with heroin addicts

FORMER boxer and rugby league star Garth Wood has detailed his experiences in prison after being sentenced for assaulting his partner’s ex-boyfriend.Australian Wood, 45, played rugby for South Sydney and Balmain Tigers between 1997 and 2005, before turning his attention to the fight game.

He had his first professional bout in February 2007 and went on to accrue a record of 12 wins, four defeats and one draw.
Most famously, he knocked out former super-middleweight world champion Anthony Mundine in the fifth round of their first fight in 2010.
The pair rematched in 2011 as Mundine secured a unanimous points victory.
Then, after hanging up his gloves, Wood was incarcerated for an attack he carried out on his partner’s ex in June of this year.

Now a free man once more, he has opened up about the drug problem in prison.
Speaking on the I Catch Killers with Gary Jubelin podcast, he said: “I was expecting it [prison] to be more of a man’s man experience where everyone is a tough guy.
“I thought I’d be confronted with guys who wanted to fight me, but a lot of it was drug addiction and mental health.”
He went on to add: “There were seven blokes in Parklea who were all on the heavy s*** [heroin].

“They all shared the syringe. Yet there was one bloke who had AIDS. He was the last one who was supposed to blast it.
“It just shows you what they are willing to do for the addiction.”
Wood also explained how he developed a way of staying in shape while behind bars alongside some of his other inmates.
But while he did grow close to some of them, he also insists he came into contact with some dangerous people.
He said: “I got with a gang of people – not a gang, people who wanted to train – and I tell you what, I did some of the hardest training sessions in there.
“We did a lot of burpees, bear crawls, squats, push-ups. It was like a big circuit which went for nearly 40 minutes and the first couple of sessions I couldn’t walk for the next couple of days.
“I met some really good people in jail, but there’s also some evil f***ing people as well, which I wouldn’t care to run into ever again.” More

I’m a new man after taking South American psychedelic drug, says Deontay Wilder ahead of Saudi fight card

Wilder, 38, has fought just twice since losing his WBC heavyweight belt to Tyson Fury in February 2020, being defeated again by the Gypsy King before bouncing back with a routine win over Robert Helenius last October.
The former champ appears to be on a collision course for fellow dethroned heavyweight star Anthony Joshua, should both win on Saturday night.
And the Bronze Bomber is expectant going into his clash with Parker, having had a life-changing experience with South American psychoactive brew ayahuasca .
The drug comes from stewing the leaves and stem of a jungle vine that grows in the Amazon rainforest, and it is usually drunk as a tea.

Ayahuasca takes 20 to 60 minutes to kick in, and its effects can last up to six hours.
Typical effects include visual hallucinations, euphoria, paranoia, and vomiting.
It contains dimethyltryptamine – or DMT – which is deemed a Class A drug in the United Kingdom, making it illegal on these shores.
Ayahuasca is also banned in the UK, but can be taken legally elsewhere.

Actress Megan Fox and boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly have claimed to have taken ayahuasca.
While NFL star Aaron Rodgers is a big proponent.
Speaking to The Telegraph ahead of his return to the ring, Wilder gushed over his experience with ayahuasca, claiming that wife Telli Swift has even seen a positive change in him since.
He said: “Ah, man, ayahuasca has been… Man, it’s been one of the top things in my life that I’m glad that I’ve experienced.
“One of the best journeys to experience, it’s been a beautiful thing for me, and if you ask my wife, she’ll say that it made me more sensitive.
“And she’s probably right, but it also made me happier as well. I find myself appreciating even the smallest of the smallest things – and not saying that I didn’t before – but the appreciation level has increased.

“Ayahuasca has done some beautiful things for a lot of individuals, not only just including myself, where they brought affirmation to their life or some type of understanding of the path that they are running in their life.
“I’m looking forward to doing it many, many more times. I’m actually looking to do it after this fight as well.
“They made the medicine on site, the DMT, and it was just a beautiful experience. I highly recommend everyone to try it out, I really do, it really has helped me in my life.
“I am one of the happiest people I know in life, and God is good.”
Ayahuasca is made from the leaves of the Psychotria viridis bush, which provides the DMT.
The Bronze Bomber is expecting to produce an early stoppage against Parker this weekend, telling TMZ: “It’s a Deontay Wilder fight, guys.
“When he’s fighting, he always keeps you on the edge of your seat because you don’t know when it’s gonna happen but when it happens, bam, baby! Goodnight!”
With the help of coach Andy Lee and Fury, however, Parker believes that he can cause an upset.
He told ESPN: “I feel very confident with the game plan that Andy’s come up with. We’re getting good advice from Tyson.

“He’s the only man who’s been in the ring with him three times and beaten him twice [with one draw].
“I have a really good set up in Ireland and in Morecambe Bay. One of [my] fights I used Tyson’s house, which he gave me to use for camp. I have an apartment which I stay in when I’m in Morecambe.”

AJ will fight Otto Wallin on the same card, dubbed the Day of Reckoning, which is set to be one of the richest cards in boxing history.
Here is everything you need to know about the former WBC heavyweight world champion who is famed for his ferocious power.
What is Deontay Wilder’s net worth?
According to Forbes, Wilder made a massive $46.5M (£33m) in 2020 alone – despite fighting just once.
That made him the third wealthiest boxer behind Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Anthony Joshua.
Wilder took home $2 million when he faced Luis Ortiz in March 2018 and made $20 million in their 2019 rematch.
He made $10 million for his knockout victory over Dominic Breazeale in 2019.

The trilogy fight against Tyson Fury meant a huge increase in Wilder’s salary.
He earned $10 million (£7.8m) in the first bout and around $28 million (£21.9m) in the rematch.
For the third fight, Wilder took home a guaranteed purse of $10 million, including a share of the pay-per-view revenue.
Wilder has only fought once since that trilogy ended in October 2021 – destroying Robert Helenius inside one round in New York City.
The Bronze Bomber earned a reported fortune for his 2 mins 57 seconds of work that night, earning an estimated purse of $20 million (£15.68m).
According to Forbes, Wilder has earned approximately $500,000 (£292,000) through endorsement deals.
He has partnered with Everlast Boxing, PureKana CBD and Raising Cane’s.
As of December 2023, Wilder has more than 3 million followers on Instagram.

He owns a number of luxurious cars and expensive jewellery and plans on focusing on music once he retires from the ring.
Whether that proves to be a massive money-maker for Wilder is yet to be seen.
While the exact figures for his fight with Parker are not yet known, Wilder reiterated how lucrative this Saudi Arabia deal will be for Joshua – leading to claims that Wilder will also make out big.
The American claimed AJ will make more than £50 million over his two-fight Saudi deal, which will see the Brit face Wilder should he beat Otto Wallin.
Wilder said: “Everyone will get in the ring for the right price, especially when there is over $50m on the table.
“Everything is going in the right direction now and the fight will happen.
“The time is finally here and people are going to get what they have wanted for years.”
What is Deontay Wilder’s boxing record?
From 2015 to 2020, Wilder held the heavyweight title and successfully defended the belt on 10 occasions.
In 2015, Wilder became the first American world heavyweight champion since 2007.
This marked the end of the longest period in which an American had not held a heavyweight title.
Wilder’s record today stands at 43-2-1 – the two losses and one draw all from his trilogy with Tyson Fury.
He suffered his loss against Fury via 7th-round TKO on February 22, 2020, which ended his 42-fight win streak.
Both of Wilder’s losses came via stoppage.
Aside from Fury, Wilder has beaten every other man that he’s stepped into the ring with.
He entered the professional boxing scene in November 2008 at the age of 23, securing victory in his debut with a 2nd round TKO.
Following this, he embarked on an impressive streak of 39 more consecutive wins, including 38 via stoppage.
Wilder’s first world title fight came in January 2015, when he faced Bermane Stiverne for the heavyweight WBC title.
He defeated Stiverne in round 12 in a unanimous decision to become the heavyweight champion of the world.
Some of his notable victories include winning against Robert Helenius, Dominic Breazeale, Luis Ortiz, Gerald Washington, Artur Szpilka, and Éric Molina.

Despite his successful career, Wilder has faced criticism for his fighting style, with some commentators arguing that he heavily relies on his right hand and lacks versatility in his boxing approach.
However, his fans appreciate and applaud his raw power, which has earned him the nickname “The Bronze Bomber.” More
