Former heavyweight champ fears Jake Paul could put Mike Tyson, 57, in a ‘COMA’ and tarnish boxing legend’s legacy

DEONTAY WILDER fears Jake Paul could put Mike Tyson in a “COMA” and tarnish the boxing legend’s legacy. The YouTuber-turned-boxer and heavyweight icon are to collide in a controversial clash on July 20 in Arlington.Mike Tyson has not fought professionally since 2005Credit: ReutersJake Paul and Mike Tyson facing offCredit: @jakepaulTyson will be 58 by the time of the bout and almost 20 YEARS removed from his last professional bout. But he will put his illustrious record on the line against 9-1 Paul following the news it is to be officially sanctioned. There will be revised rules, with the pair fighting in bigger 14oz gloves opposed to 10oz and over eight, two not three minute rounds. Still, former WBC heavyweight world champion Wilder, 38, slammed the Texas commission for giving the green light to sanction it. READ MORE IN BOXINGHe told Sportsbook Review: “I think it’s bad the commission has licensed Mike Tyson because he hasn’t been active in 20 years.”So they should not just licence him because of who he is, that’s how people get hurt, god forbid he gets hurt. “People can get hit in the wrong place and at the wrong time, there’s lots of examples where guys have been hit into a coma. “It’s easy to do. He’s too old for this. At the end of the day, no one gives a f*** about Mike. Most read in BoxingCredit: The SunCASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO WELCOME OFFERS”We can talk about the pros and cons, but at the end of the day, they don’t give a f***. “I don’t think anyone cares about Mike because if they did they wouldn’t sanction the fight. Jake Paul reveals awkward reason why he can’t copy Mike Tyson’s sex ban before fighting boxing legend”They may say they’ve done tests and all that, OK, but as long as you’re willing to suffer the consequences if something bad goes wrong.”Paul, 27, has been beaten only once in his ten bouts, losing a split-decision to Tommy Fury, 25, in Saudi Arabia last year. But he has won three since, while Tyson was last in the ring for a 2020 exhibition with Roy Jones Jr which ended in a draw. His boxing career officially ended in 2005 following dismal defeats to Danny Williams and Kevin McBride, who is now a tree surgeon. But Wilder reckons losing to prankster-gone-prizefighter Paul would be even more sole crushing than his last two losses. He said: “His power may not have left completely but you still need to set it up, your stamina needs to be a certain way, or it’s going to look like a clown show. “I don’t want to see it to be honest. I don’t want to see one of my legends fight a YouTuber. “If he goes in there and he knocks Mike out, that’s going to tarnish the reputation of Mike. Deontay Wilder hopes to revive £100m Anthony Joshua fight and says September blockbuster at Wembley ‘turns me on’

DEONTAY WILDER hopes to revive his super-fight with Anthony Joshua behind enemy lines. The American blew his £100million deal to face AJ in Saudi Arabia in March following a shock defeat to Joseph Parker just months earlier. And Wilder hopes to redeem himself so he can put years of rivalry to bed by finally sharing the ring with his Great British rival. He told Sportsbook Review: “F*** yeah, it turns me on. “I’ve been in situations like that when I fought the gold medalist in Moscow. We were right there in the lion’s den. That’s an amazing feeling, so I have no problem coming to London. “It would be amazing for me, but the only thing that would be different in coming to Russia than the UK is I actually have major fans in the UK, and I think they’re going to show up and represent me, even though I’m fighting their countryman.” Joshua, 34, beat Otto Wallin, 33, in December to keep his side of the bargain. Most read in BoxingCASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO WELCOME OFFERSBut just moments beforehand, Wilder, 38, fell to defeat to Parker, 32, to blow the super-fight. AJ instead went onto knockout replacement Francis Ngannou, 37, while Wilder now returns on June 1 against Zhilei Zhang, 41. Anthony Joshua makes Deontay Wilder No1 choice for interim fight as he draws up four-man shortlistAnd the plot thickened after he was selected by Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn to represent him in the 5v5 tournament against Frank Warren’s selects. Wilder has refused to take his eye of a blockbuster away day against Londoner Joshua but first he must avoid another interim defeat. He said: “I want it. I’ve never ran from a fight, I never shied away from the fight, no matter what you’ve heard over the years. “I’ve never run from anyone, I’ve never dodged anyone, I’ve taken the short end of the sticks just to make fights happen, that’s the God’s honest truth. “I’m here, and when I’ve done what I’m supposed to, let’s get this fight on. “I want the biggest fights possible that can be made, but it all relies on June 1. I will pack my bags and come to Wembley happily. “When I come to the UK I am welcomed with open arms, it’s amazing to see the people and to get the gratitude and hospitality I get. It makes me feel like it’s my second home.”Zhilei Zhang facing off with WilderCredit: GETTY More

Jake Paul reveals awkward reason why he can’t copy Mike Tyson’s sex ban before fighting boxing legend

JAKE PAUL revealed the awkward reason why he cannot copy Mike Tyson’s sex ban before their fight. The YouTuber-turned-boxer and heavyweight icon are to collide in a controversial clash on July 20 in Texas.Jake Paul with girlfriend Jutta LeerdamCredit: @jakepaulMike Tyson is refraining from sex before fighting Jake PaulCredit: GettyAnd Tyson admitted to giving up weed and sex in the build up to help install discipline ahead of his shock comeback. It would follow the old boxing myth that avoiding sex helps performance by building up testosterone. And Paul said on his podcast: “Yeah, he’s going to be like really angry and on edge. That’s pretty scary. “Wow, he’s going to be like a caged animal just p****d the f*** off.”READ MORE IN BOXINGPaul, 27, himself used the abstinence method during training until running into bedroom problems. He revealed: “If I didn’t have sex for like… if I restrain myself for like two weeks I start having wet dreams because my body’s like, ‘Get this out!'”It’s not weird, it just means that I’m normal.”Paul, who is with speedskater Jutta Leerdam, revealed the nearest to a fight he has had sex is four days, adding: “That’s like a good amount.”Most read in BoxingCredit: The SunCASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO WELCOME OFFERSThe American infamously blamed a wet dream on impacting his performance over Tommy Fury, which stands as his only boxing loss. I literally woke up in a panic, like, ‘f***, f***, f***, f*** I was like, ‘Oh my god.'”You have two weeks of testosterone built up and so the reason a wet dream happens is because your body needs to release that energy, it knows in your mind, ‘This is not good’. I f***ed myself.”But yeah it makes your legs weak. For the viewers, that’s why it’s bad, it makes your legs weak.” Paul has returned with three wins since losing to Fury meanwhile Tyson was last in the ring for a 2020 exhibition with Roy Jones Jr. But the boxing icon – who will be 58 by the time of the bout – prepares for his first pro contest in almost 20 YEARS. And despite weighing over 19 STONE, chef Lockhart revealed Fury is not “a big eater”. He said: “Tyson’s very steady. Whether it’s an intense day or a light day, he’ll wake up and be almost the exact same weight, no matter what. “He has a little bit more of the higher fats.
