AMIR KHAN has revealed the two factors that cost him his grudge match with Kell Brook.The Brit looked slow as he succumbed to his bitter rival in Manchester.

After the fight he admitted that he ‘didn’t feel right’ in the ring – and that it could be time to hang up his gloves aged 35.
He told Radio Rahim: “I think the timing wasn’t there. More than anything – and my reactions were kind of slow.
“Obviously I thought my speed was there, but reaction on shots he was throwing at me were not there.
“And that’s a sign to me. I’ve got a beautiful family and I’ve made tons of money in the sport of boxing.
“I think it’s time where I need to spend time with my loved ones.
“I don’t want to get hurt anymore, like I say you’re always one punch from getting hurt.

“I’m glad that me and Kell came out the ring safely.
“I don’t know… there’s no point in risking it now. And like I said… I think it’s maybe time to call it a day.”
On what he took from the grudge match, Khan graciously said: “Just wish him all the very best for the future. Like I said, he made me realise that maybe… it’s tough on me, you know?

After the thrilling encounter, a delighted Brook, 35, said: “I can live at peace with Amir Khan on my record,.
“My mojo is back and I love this game. We will listen to loved ones and see, but I’m back, baby.
“I can walk away but I could fight [Chris] Eubank [Jr]. I don’t like Eubank. If the fight is right I will fight – I’m a prize fighter.”

KELL BROOK wants to sit down and enjoy a coffee with Amir Khan after ending their ten-year rivalry in brutal fashion. The 35-year-old pair of ex-world champions at last put bragging rights and reputations on the line.

In truth, their feud goes back almost two decades as young schoolboys on the England team.
But it was Brook who stayed true to his words after all these years, stopping Khan in six one-sided but thrilling rounds.
The pair then embraced in the ring, which could signal the latest British rivals turning pals overnight.
Brook told Behind The Gloves: “I said, ‘Listen, you’ve got the heart of a lion’. He took some big shots.
“I said, ‘Listen, let’s just put that to bed now’. We both said we’re going to put that to bed and maybe have a coffee one time.
“Whoever gets in that ring, you have to give them that respect. He put up a fight, he just came second tonight.
“But I knew that was happening.”

Khan admitted afterwards his love for boxing may have faded out as he contemplated retirement.
But bullish Brook ensured, if he chooses, that he earned another big money payday in the ring.
He said: “Everyone knows that I’m not a young spring chicken anymore.
“I’m going to sit down with my family, because me personally as a fighter, I’ve got plenty more left.
“But I’m going to sit down with my immediate family and just see if I should carry on or not.”

Similarly, Brook tried but failed in attempts to get his British rival in the ring and looked to have missed out forever.
But they finally agreed terms which set up a thrilling night in the Manchester Arena, where Brook at last proved himself right.
He dominated Khan to win in six rounds and talk at the post-fight press conference soon turned to what – or who – is next for the ex-IBF champion.
But it was long-time coach Ingle who threw boxing legend Mayweather’s name out there.
He told promoter Ben Shalom: “Wherever there’s any more fights, whether he needs to do any more is another matter.
“Because you’re always remembered for your last fight. But on this performance, they’re both 35, they’re not spring chickens.
“There’s got to be some good fights out there. I’m thinking maybe get Mayweather out of retirement and we’ll get that fight.”

Mayweather, 44, hung up the gloves officially in 2017 after his cash-grab win against UFC superstar Conor McGregor, 33.
But the richest fighter of all time has twice returned to the ring, both in exhibition bouts.
The first was in Tokyo on New Year’s Eve in 2018, beating Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa, 23, in one round.
Then last June he was taken the distance by YouTube star Logan Paul, 26, who weighed TWO STONE more to make up for the farcical skill disparity.
Mayweather in December held a press conference to say he would fight on top of the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah hotel HELIPAD.
Middle East vlogger Money Kicks – real name Rashed Belhasa – was in negotiations to be the opponent but talks have broken down.
So Brook’s trainer has offered the Brit as a replacement, even if it is an exhibition opposed to a crack at the American’s 50-0 record.
Ingle said: “He seems to want to fight everybody that’s not a boxer. But why not? If it can be made, Ben you’re the man, apparently.
“You’re the new man on the block, so get in touch with Floyd and whether it’s an exhibition or a fight, it’s probably something we can do.”

Sheffield’s former IBF welterweight world champion looked to roll back the clock, breathing new life into his career.
But for Khan, he is starring retirement in the face, having been unable to box to same brilliant standards he once set.
Devastated Khan told Sky Sports: “I need to sit down with my family, but it is more towards the end of my career.
“The love of the sport isn’t there any more. That is a sign for me that I should maybe be calling it a day.”
Brook insisted for over ten years that he was the superior operator, despite Khan’s Olympic silver medal and Stateside success.
And his performance inside an electric Manchester Arena can lay claim to that.

And after Brook dominated Khan in six rounds to ensure bragging rights for life, he unknowingly set up another domestic dust-up.
Eubank Jr, 32, told Sky Sports: “”He’s proven tonight that he still has the spice.
“Now I wanna see how spicy he can get with me because I’m not Amir Khan.
“We have history, he’s the reason I didn’t fight Gennady Golovkin and I’ve never forgiven him for that.”
Their feud dates back to 2016, when Eubank Jr saw talks to fight middleweight king Gennady Golovkin collapse.
Brook would jump two divisions to face GGG – losing in five rounds and suffering a fractured eye socket in the process.

Eubank Jr mocked the loss for years and Brook has not forgotten it, opening the door to a fight in the near future.
He said: “I’ve got three daughters, and they need these millions.”
For Khan, he has been left considering retirement after the brutal loss.
He admitted: “I need to sit down with my family, but it is more towards the end of my career.

KELL BROOK dominated Amir Khan to make their long-awaited grudge match one-sided – with the punch stats to prove it. Brook bashed Khan all around the ring over six rounds, the referee finally stopping the action in round six inside the Manchester Arena.

Overall, according to CompuBox, he threw 224 shots in total, landing with 79 to finish the fight with a 35 per cent success rate.
For Khan, he threw 151, with 34 connecting to end the fight with 23 per cent accuracy.
In the end, it was Brook’s sheer pressure and punch power that finally earned him bragging right over his great rival.

Khan, who was wobbled from the start of round one but battled till the last bell, hinted are retirement.
He said: “I need to sit down with my family, but it is more towards the end of my career.
“The love of the sport isn’t there any more. That is a sign for me that I should maybe be calling it a day.”
Khan added: “I’m very upset. I just couldn’t get it going. I have fallen a little bit short. Obviously he was the best man today.
“I was catching Kell with some good shots, but I’m not blaming anyone. I had a great training camp but couldn’t get going.
“I was falling short and missing a lot. Kell was on his A-game today.”
