Anthony Joshua claims he stopped Joe Joyce in ONE ROUND and warns he will do the same today

ANTHONY JOSHUA insists he would stop Joe Joyce on the first round once more if they cross paths again.Joshua was set for a rematch against Oleksandr Usyk, who dethroned the British superstar of the WBA, IBF and WBO unified titles in September.

However, Usyk has bravely taken up arms to defend Ukraine in the war against Russia, who invaded his country, and that could see their fight being shelved.
Both AJ and his promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed they will be open to an interim bout in the meantime with various names being thrown into the mix.
Among them is fellow British boxer Joyce who is a WBO mandatory challenger and has a good shot of stepping in.
Joshua would have no problem facing the Juggernaut but warned he would knock him out in just one round like he did in the past when they were youngsters.
A fan claimed on Twitter the 32-year-old wouldn’t take on Joyce, who was knocked back due to a ‘lack of credibility’ in 2019, as he would have the tools to beat him.
Joshua responded: “‘Rolls Eyes…’ You really think I wouldn’t fight [Joe Joyce]?”

Wallin is also ready to step in and fight Joshua if Usyk is out of the equation.
The Swedish bruiser’s promoter Dmitriy Salita has already put his name forward to Hearn and the heavyweight believes he resembles the Ukrainian champ far more than lefties Charles Martin and Luis Ortiz.

Wallin told SunSport: “I think if you look at us three, I’d be the best option.
“I had that really good fight with [Tyson] Fury, sent him to the hospital with 47 stitches and was probably Fury’s hardest fight so far.
“If you look at Usyk and you’re trying to find someone that’s similar to him, obviously I’m the best option.

But the Mexican superstar opted for Eddie Hearn’s proposal, which starts with a return against Dmitry Bivol, 31, on May 7.
Canelo, 31, is then in line for a trilogy bout against Gennady Golovkin, 39, in September.
The four-division champion is also eyeing another fight in December – but super-middleweight Berlanga claimed retirement will follow after.
He told EsNEWS: “He ain’t never going to take that fight with Benavidez. I don’t think he’s going to take it.
“To be honest, he signed a three-fight deal, right? So, it’s May, September, and December.
“I think he’s going to retire after those three fights. I think he’s going to hang it up.”

Berlanga, 24, went on a run of 16 consecutive first-round knockouts but has since been taken the distance twice.
He has also backed light-heavyweight Bivol to hear the final bell against Canelo, but lose his WBA light-heavyweight title by decision.
Berlanga said: “I think it’s going to be a decision. I don’t think it’s going to be a stoppage.
“Bivol is a big boy, so I feel he’s going to box. I don’t know. Canelo is different now, and he might stand toe-to-toe with him.”

Joshua, 32, has been linked with a bout with Otto Wallin, amid uncertainty over Oleksandr Usyk’s status.
Responding to rumours, AJ wrote: “Lol ok … I’ve shared this ring with most people you see in the heavyweight division today!
“I boxed Otto Wallin twice as youngsters & I boxed Joe and stopped him in 1 round. I’d do the same thing today! Ain’t nothing changed.”
A Twitter user replied: “You got scared from Wilder though 🥴🥴🥴”
One of AJ’s fans hit back with three shushing emojis, alongside a screenshot of an old Wilder tweet.
In that tweet – dated November 20, 2020 – Wilder revealed that Joshua had offered him more money for a fight, but he has stuck to his word and given Tyson Fury a rematch after their controversial draw two years earlier.

“I respect Wilder he’s a good fighter. He just wasn’t ready to fight me! If you don’t believe me. See below.”
Joshua has also opened up on accusations that he’s become more cautious since his defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr in June 2019.
He wrote: “I wanted to be a slicker boxer. Boxing 1.0.1 – hit & don’t get hit.
“I was told if I love fighting & want to go on 4 years try not to get hit a lot. A loss or a beaten shouldn’t make you scared of boxing.
“It made me work on my weakness. Hard 2 explain but make of it what u can.”

It was his debut fight under Canelo Alvarez’s coach Eddy Reynoso and first since defeat to Anthony Joshua.
Ruiz, 32, stunned Joshua, 32, in June 2019 but lost the rematch six months later in Saudi Arabia.
Now back to winning ways, Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions are lining up the former champion with Cuban Luis Ortiz, 42, this year.
Ruiz felt unfortunate not to have fought Tyson Fury next after Dillian Whyte got his shot at the WBC belt.
But he is eyeing the winner of Wembley’s all-British grudge match on April 23.
Ruiz told EsNEWS: “I definitely want the winner of the fight. A lot of people wish it would have been Fury and me.
“But you know, I think that Whyte deserves his shot, so we are going to see what happens. I think it’s going to be a hell of a fight.”

But after a fan claimed he’s not ‘the same since’ being stopped by Ruiz, 32, AJ uncharacteristically took to Twitter to fight hs corner.
Joshua was also accused of being ‘more cautious now’ and failing to ‘attack fighters like you used to’.
In response, AJ replied: “I wanted to be a slicker boxer.

Joshua adopted similar tactics against Oleksandr Usyk in September despite having over a stone advantage.
It backfired as Usyk, 35, outboxed the Londoner to snatch the unified heavyweight titles on points.
Joshua has since promoted Angel Fernandez from assistant trainer to head coach, seemingly replacing Rob McCracken.
He told Behind The Gloves: “I’m working with Angel Fernandez right now.
“He’s been in my camp for the last three years anyway. He’s been at the last three of my world championship fights.”
Joshua was recently filmed body sparring with former lightweight Luke Campbell, 34, in Fernandez’s gym.
And while Campbell is giving away around EIGHT stone, the pair of 2012 London Olympic gold medalists took turns drilling straight body shots.

    What has been said?
“I do rate and respect him as a fighter, making sure I’m doing everything I need to do to win. He is quite tricky; we’ve looked at him in great detail,” Wood said.
“Social media wise, it seems like he’s got all of Team Conlan trying to rattle me, but it is what it is, I give what I get.
“He can do what he wants to try and throw me off, but I just see it as a weakness, trying to get any advantage he can – it’s not going to work one bit but do that opposite.”
Conlan has said: “I have the utmost respect for him as a person and fighter but f**k all that until after the fight. Let’s get the fight done.
“I’ve been in with big punchers my whole life, I’ve had over 250 fights in the amateurs and sparred numerous rounds with big punchers – Oscar Valdez.
“I have answer for anything Leigh does, I know what type of fighter he is, he punches hard yes but slow feet and curly head. I’ll punch ahead of him.”

Tana Mongeau was one of Paul’s many girlfriends through the years
From models to a fellow social media influencer he faked a marriage to, and even his first love, SunSport wades through his ex-list.
Now newly-single after splitting from latest beau Julia Rose, you can bet the 25-year-old won’t be on the market for much longer.
    SAXON SHARBINO
Actress Sharbino was Paul’s first high-profile romance back in 2014.
They met before he started his YouTube channel, so not much is known about their romance – or how long it lasted.
However, the pair still appear to be friends.
In 2017, they filmed a video together talking about where their relationship went wrong and how they’ve managed to stay on good terms.
Sharbino has since gone on to have a successful career in Hollywood – starring in the 2015 remake of Poltergeist, as well as various US TV shows.

    ALISSA VIOLET
Perhaps Paul’s best-known girlfriend, Alissa is a model who appeared on the catwalk at Milan Fashion Week in 2020.
They began dating in 2016, but a year later their romance came to a sticky end when Paul accused of her cheating on him and they exchanged nasty messages on social media.
Later it came out that Jake believed Alissa cheated with his elder brother, Logan.
Logan Paul then released a diss track aimed at his sibling called The Fall of Jake Paul that featured Alissa in the video.

They started seeing each other in 2017 and were soon inseparable – filming vlogs together for each other’s YouTube channels.
The couple also released merch and recorded a song called Chitty Bang together.
But after a year their love fizzed out and Paul released a statement confirming the break-up saying, “it is the healthiest thing for both of us”.

It was a romance that benefitted both parties.
YouTubers Jake and Tana began their courtship in 2019, and it was all lived out online.
Paul popped the question and the pair ‘married’ – only to separate a few months later.
He later revealed the marriage was staged and wasn’t legal.

    JULIA ROSE
Paul’s most recent girlfriend was Julia Rose, who has overseen his epic rise in the boxing world.
In fact, Rose was ringside when he knocked out Nate Robinson in 2020.
The Instagram model, best known for flashing Gerrit Cole during Game 5 of the World Series, had been dating Paul for over two years.
But reports emerged on March 8 that the pair had split up, leaving the YouTuber ‘devastated’.
He had previously suggested they were engaged and that the loved-up couple had been planning to marry.
Paul had hinted at the split by tweeting “Alexa play ‘I’m single'” – a nod the relationship was over.
