Fury and his fans bashed the Brixton banger for his absence, which Hearn believes is rich considering the defending WBC heavyweight champ went AWOL for his pre-fight clash with Klitschko in September 2016.
The Matchroom Boxing chief told iFL TV: “Everyone is very, very quick to forget that Tyson Fury didn’t turn up the Wladimir Klitschko press conference.”
When it was put to Hearn that Fury may have been going through some mental health problems at the time, he replied: “He chose not to turn up.
“He’s still at fault, he chose not to turn up to the press conference. So what’s the difference?

“It was for a fight and he chose not to [attend]. He said that his car broke down on the way down. It didn’t.”
Veteran promoter Hearn was quick not to make light of Fury’s well-documented struggles with his mental health.
He continued: “You don’t know what anyone is going through. But it’s one rule for one, one rule for the other.
“At the end of the day, Tyson Fury didn’t turn up to the Wladimir Klitschko press conference, Dillian Whyte didn’t turn up to the Tyson Fury press conference.

“Let’s hope everything gets resolved and let’s hope they get in the ring.”
Whyte has maintained radio silence over the last few weeks, which prompted Hearn to explain why he missed the presser.
He told Fight Hub TV: “I saw Tyson Fury say, ‘I told him not to go to the press conference’ — absolute rubbish.
“There’s still a lot of stuff that’s still to be resolved, that he hasn’t had answers for. I don’t want to go into it too much but, you know, tickets for the fight, escrow for the money, he wanted a plane to bring him in, he didn’t want to just go on a low budget airline because Covid still exists.
“Some people want to buy Rolls Royces but they can’t afford the petrol. And this is a problem.
“If you want to spend $42 million on a fight, are you going to bring in a guy from Portugal and you want to put him on an airline? There’s other stuff, they don’t want to give him tickets for the fight.
“So under a purse bid agreement there’s things he does and doesn’t have to do, like it’s not a commercial agreement as per normal. So it’s his own decision.

The heavyweight legend made a stunning return in November 2020, more than 15 years after he announced his retirement from boxing.
Tyson drew in an eight-round exhibition with fellow American great Roy Jones Jr, 53, on a Triller pay-per-view which sold a reported 1.6million packages.
The Sun Sport reported earlier this year that Tyson was in advanced negotiations for a mega money fight with YouTuber Logan Paul.
Those negotiations broke down and nothing has been reported since now regarding the icon stepping back in the ring. 
But he has teased his fan base about another comeback by posting a picture of himself in his prime with the caption: “Ready of not, here I come…”
Then a video clip was posted by the official ESPN Ringside account showing Iron Mike back in training with his coach Rafael Cordeiro.

George Carpentier, the handsome debonair French idol was European light-heavyweight champion when World War 1 broke out.
He immediately joined the French Air force and quickly became one of its ace pilots. There’s no record of how many German planes he shot down but he must have been something special.
Known as the Orchid Man throughout his boxing career George won the Croix de Guerre and the Medaille Militaire – France’s two highest military honours.
When the war ended Carpentier won the world light-heavyweight title and in July, 1921 he challenged Jack Dempsey for his world heavyweight crown.
He was KO’d in the 4th round but the fight in Jersey City made history – it was boxing’s first million dollar gate.

Barney Ross, world champion at lightweight, light-welterweight and welterweight enlisted in the US Marine Corps, in April 1942.
Ross, son of a Chicago Rabbi escaped being court martialled for hitting an NCO for making an anti-Semitic remark and instead was sent to the Pacific to fight the Japanese.
During the Battle of Guadalcanal, Ross and three comrades were trapped under enemy fire.
They were all wounded but Ross was the only one able to fight on.

Barney gathered up his comrades rifles and grenades and fought nearly a dozen Japanese soldiers single-handed throughout the night . By sunrise Ross had killed every one of them.
Two of his fellow Marines had died from their injuries and Barney carried the third one – who weighed six stone heavier than him – on his shoulders to safety.
Ross for his incredible exploits received the Silver Star – America’s third highest military honour and President Roosevelt gave him a special citation as one of America’s greatest celebrity war heroes.
President John F. Kennedy said “Great crisis produce great men and great deeds of courage”.
