Chris Eubank Jr has brother Sebastian watching over him as he vows to KO Conor Benn and secure nephew’s financial future

CHRIS EUBANK Jr has tragic brother Sebastian watching over him as he bids to secure a win over Conor Benn and his nephew’s financial future. The 33-year-old fighter’s sibling —a fellow boxer, mixed martial artist and charity campaigner — died from a shock heart attack last year, aged just 29.

Sebastian’s son Raheem was only a month old when his father lost his life, so Chris Jr has unofficially adopted him as his own.
And Jr hung a giant portrait of Sebastian in his Hove gym to inspire him ahead of a catchweight O2 clash with Benn a week today.
This fight may have caught the imagination following the two iconic bouts their fathers shared — but for Eubank Jr it means so much more.
In his beachside training bunker, he said: “I was going to have the picture in my house but my gym was the perfect place.

“My brother has a son who now grows up without a biological father — but he has a father in me.”
Chris Jr will help raise Raheem with regular trips to his Dubai home.
When the career middleweight talks about why he decided to delay his world title efforts and dehydrate himself to a career-low, he gives a new meaning to the term prizefighting.
He said: “For the rest of Raheem’s life I’ll look out for him and provide for him — and that takes money.
“So I have to make enough to get him everything he needs as he grows to be the man his father would have wanted him to be.
“Raheem is now my son and the reality of that is he is another mouth to feed.

ANTHONY JOSHUA won’t sign up for a short-notice domestic dust-up with Tyson Fury as he doesn’t want to commit “financial suicide.”That’s according to the Gyspy King’s dad, John, who doesn’t believe Joshua’s team will allow him to take the fight.

WBC heavyweight king Fury threw AJ a shock championship lifeline earlier this month after his Brit rival’s second consecutive defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.
Despite Fury publicly claiming the deadline for their December domestic dust-up has passed, negotiations for the biggest fight in British boxing history are still ongoing.
But Fury’s old man cannot see it happening.
The 58-year-old told The Daily Mail: “I can understand why [they are stalling on the contracts]. He is their Golden Boy.

“A defeat to Tyson Fury, financially… it would financial suicide for them wouldn’t it. That’s why they don’t want it.”
John insists Team Fury would understand if Joshua declined the fight in order to spend time with his family following his long and gruelling training camp for his August rematch with Usyk.
He said: “You know what. If he came up with a viable explanation saying that, ‘You know what I’m not ready for it.
“‘I just come off a defeat and want some time out to spend some time out with the family.’

“We’d understand that if he just says the truth – which is the truth. He said somewhere else he’s just come off a bad defeat.
“He’ll be a bit depressed over that, you know, and we can understand that. Why, don’t he just say that.”
Fury and Joshua were set to do battle last year after agreeing a blockbuster two-fight deal in March 2020.
But former WBC heavyweight champ Deontay Wilder scuppered the undisputed bout when he won his arbitration for a trilogy fight with Fury.
Joshua is seemingly champing at the bit to get his hands on Fury, although John believes the fallen champion is having serious “doubts” about the fight.

He said: “I think Joshua’s sort of like getting doubts about fighting the Gypsy King.
“You know they’ve had that contract now, for well over a month. Nothing’s happened.
“But what they want, you see, is a to and fro for next two years or twelve months.
“Twelve months or two years back and forth, like they did with Deontay Wilder. We don’t want that.

He’s heading into the fight off the back of two losses to WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, with the last coming in October 2021.
Despite this, Wilder is more determined than ever to exact revenge on the Gypsy King, while he is also keen to go toe-to-toe with unified WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champ Oleksandr Usyk AND Anthony Joshua.
Wilder told the Daily Mail he’s “here to make nothing but great fights”.
And once he’s done competing, Wilder with then focus on making music.

Wilder says a fourth fight with Fury is ‘”inevitable”, a showdown with Joshua “will get done when it’s time” and a meeting with Usyk has already being called for by the Ukrainian.
Joshua had offered Wilder a large sum of money to fight him instead of taking a rematch with Fury a number of years back.
However, Wilder decided to take the rematch, which Joshua says puts the “ducking” narrative to bed, after the Brit faced taunts from fans.
The American, who has won 41 fights via knockout, is returning to boxing a new man.

He’s “in a different mindset” and insists “people don’t know me”.
Wilder continued: “I wouldn’t say it’s a new start. I’d just say I’m in a different mindset. I’m soaking in my peace and happiness.
“I’m in a great place in life. In spirit. And in heart, man. I can’t explain it.
“People don’t know me. They see me in the ring and they judge me off that.
“The saying for me is: to love him is to know him. I’m always at peace, I’m always happy.

Fury, 34, said in reaction: “Get up there @jakepaul. Man knows his stuff.”
Paul, 25, revealed his list on his podcast and explained his decisions in a statement.
He said: “First and foremost, Tyson Fury has just been so dominant in the heavyweight division for so long.
“He beats every heavyweight by KO/TKO including Usyk and there hasn’t been a heavyweight in the history of the sport who hasn’t fallen off eventually and Tyson Fury has remained on top and I think he will retire on top.

“However, what Usyk has done from cruiserweight to heavyweight has been impressive and his dominance, versatility, and boxing ability is second to none.”
Paul’s mutual respect with Fury comes despite his feud with half-brother Tommy, 23.

The boxing rivals have TWICE signed for a celebrity grudge match but both times Tommy was withdrawn.
Firstly, he suffered a rib injury last December before running into US visa issues ahead of their rescheduled August date.

It means Paul will have to cross enemy lines to get his hands on Fury, who recently FaceTimed with the YouTuber-turned-boxer.
And they both agreed to see if three really is the lucky number and try for a hat-trick of times.
Paul revealed: “Had a call with Tommy Fury. Yeah, they’re saying we’re going to fight in February.
“I think he actually can’t come into the United States. So if I fight him in the UK…”
He added: “I think parts of it are shady, I don’t think we’re getting the full truth on everything.
“But regardless, it’s a great matchup and I really want to knock him out.”
