World Cup 2022 preview: Betting tips, predictions, latest odds and FREE BETS – winner, Golden Boot and specials

THE 2022 World Cup in Qatar is less than 20 days away as Gareth Southgate’s England look to secure their first major trophy since 1966.And here, SunSport takes a closer look at the latest betting odds, tips, predictions, bonuses and special offers ahead of the winter tournament.
England are available at 15/2 to win the 2022 Qatar World Cup with Betfair
    When and where?
The opening fixture between Qatar and Ecuador takes place at Al Bayt Stadium on Sunday, November 20.
There will be four fixtures each day for the first 12 days of the competition — all taking place at 10am, 1pm, 4pm and 7pm UK time.
The final group matches will be played simultaneously at 3pm and 7pm.
It’s the first time that the tournament has been held in the Middle East, and domestic leagues will have to pause to allow it to be played in cooler temperatures.
The last Premier League fixture will be played on November 13, giving England’s players just eight days to prepare for their opener against Iran.
It’s a similar story in Spain, Germany, Italy and France.
The knockout stages begin on Saturday December 3, with the final due to take place at the Lusail Stadium in Doha on December 18.
World Cup 2022 – winnerBetfair odds

    Brazil – 4/1
    France – 11/2
    Argentina – 13/2
    Spain – 15/2
    England – 15/2
    Germany – 9/1
    Netherlands – 13/1
    Belgium – 16/1
    Portugal – 16/1
    Denmark – 30/1
    Uruguay – 50/1
    Croatia – 50/1

    Who are the favourites?
Five-time winners Brazil are currently favourites at 4/1.
The South American heavyweights haven’t tasted World Cup glory since 2002 but boast a stacked squad that features Neymar, Vinicius Junior, Alisson and Richarlison.
Holders France are well fancied at 11/2 and have the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Paul Pogba at their disposal to become only the third side in history to defend their crown.
Lionel Messi’s Argentina are further behind at 13/2, just ahead of Spain at 15/2.
England, who are also 15/2, have been inching closer to international success having reach the semi-finals in Russia before losing to Italy on penalties at Euro 2020.
2014 champions Germany are available at 9/1, ahead of the Netherlands (13/1) and Belgium and Portugal (16/1).
Our tip — Spain to win the World Cup: 15/2 – Back with Paddy Power here
    Golden Boot winnerSky Bet odds

    Harry Kane – 7/1
    Kylian Mbappe – 8/1
    Karim Benzema – 12/1

    Romelu Lukaku – 16/1
    Lautaro Martinez – 25/1
    Memphis Depay – 25/1
    Richarlison – 25/1

    Golden Boot winner
England talisman Harry Kane leads the way in the battle for the coveted Golden Boot at odds of 7/1 with Sky Bet.
Kane, 28, won the award at the 2018 World Cup after netting six, and could fill his boots in the group stages against Iran and the USA.
Superstar Kylian Mbappe is next at 8/1 after scoring 39 goals in 46 appearances for PSG last season, while he’s already notched 17 times this term.
He also boasts 28 goals in 59 games for France, and could do damage against Tunisia, Denmark and Australia in Group D.
It’s no surprise to see Mbappe’s compatriot and Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema next at 12/1, along with global superstar Lionel Messi.
Ronaldo finished as the top scorer at the European Championship with five goals — that’s despite Portugal’s elimination in the Round of 16.
He’s offered at 16/1, along with Romelu Lukaku and Neymar. Richarlison, Diogo Jota and Lautaro Martinez are tied with several other players at 25s.

Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor 2 – latest odds: Mayweather heavy favourite to conquer UFC star again

FLOYD MAYWEATHER has confirmed that he’s entered talks to fight Conor McGregor again. And Paddy Power have revealed the latest odds ahead of the potential showdown, with the former five-weight world champion a heavy favourite.

Bet £20 and get it back as CASH if it loses*
It’s been over five years since the pair clashed in Las Vegas in one of the richest bouts in boxing history.
Mayweather extended his perfect career record to 50 fights unbeaten when stopping the UFC icon in the 10th round at the T-Mobile Arena.
The 45-year-old has had three exhibition bouts since, not officially sanctioned or affecting his 50-0 record.
But this rematch could be a professional fight, according to Mayweather.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Mayweather confirmed that negotiations were ongoing ahead of of a potential clash in 2023.
He said: “I have another exhibition in Dubai in November and me and Conor McGregor in 2023.

“We don’t know if it’s going to be an exhibition or a real fight. But there’s been talks of both. I would prefer an exhibition.
“I am not into fights where I am going to take any real punishment.
“So, guys like Conor McGregor and guys that don’t really hit hard such as YouTubers or UFC guys, I don’t really mind colliding with those kinds of individuals but nothing where I am going to put myself in a position where I am going to harm myself or hurt myself.”
McGregor has been absent from the Octagon after breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier — but is interested in returning to boxing.
He recently said: “Boxing is my first love in combat sports. I had such a great time the last time I was out there.
“Obviously, my return will be in the octagon for UFC – that story is far from over, in fact it’s just being written, it is just the beginning. But, boxing, for sure I will grace the squared circle again in the future.”
Paddy Power have installed Floyd Mayweather as the 1/7 favourite but the American isn’t being as strongly backed compared to their last fight in 2017.
Spokesman Paddy Power said: “This fight was a bit of a non-contest last time out, so it’s great to see the pair back to make a mockery of boxing once again.”

Lucky football punter scoops £63,000 from £5 bet thanks to FOUR last-minute goals in amazing turnaround

A LUCKY football punter turned £5 into £63,000 on Saturday thanks to four late goals in the National League. The Ladbrokes punter had backed Over 2.5 Goals/Over 3.5 Goals/Over 1.5 Goals in no less than 18 matches across the National League, National League North and National League South.
Effiong scored the winning goal for AldershotCredit: Louis Wood – The Sun

And while 15 of those games landed with relative ease, the customer was incredibly lucky with the remaining three.
The clash between Aldershot and Barnet looked as though the points were to be shared with the score at 1-1 until Inih Effiong scored in the 90th minute to put Aldershot ahead.
The hosts then went on to extend their lead to 3-1 before the full-time whistle.
Elsewhere, Chippenham Town’s Jordan Young found a last-gasp winner against Dartford in the 92nd minute to keep the bet alive.

And Slough Town earned all three points against Hampton and Richmond courtesy of a 90th minute winner from Imran Kayani.
The lucky punter landed a whopping £62,896.69 in what has been dubbed “one of the most dramatic bets of the season” when Kayani’s decisive goal hit the back of the net.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Our plucky punter has shown there’s value in the lower leagues, landing a whopping acca at odds of over 12,500/1 in what has to go down as one of the most dramatic bets we’ll likely see this season.
“We can only assume some of the winnings will be spent on a Slough Town shirt with Imran Kayani’s name on the back!”

World Cup 2022 preview: betting tips, predictions, latest odds and FREE BETS – winner, top Golden Boot and specials

THE 2022 World Cup in Qatar is less than 80 days away as Gareth Southgate’s England look to secure their first major trophy since 1966.And here, SunSport takes a closer look at the latest betting odds, tips, predictions and special offers ahead of the winter tournament, which kicks off in November.
England are available at 13/2 to win the 2022 Qatar World Cup with BetfairCredit: GETTY

Five-time winners Brazil are currently favourites at 5/1.
England have been inching closer to international success having reach the semi-finals in Russia before losing to Italy on penalties at Euro 2020.
The Three Lions are offered at 13/2, while Argentina and Spain follow closely behind at 13/2 and 15/2 respectively.
2014 champions Germany are available at 9/1, ahead of Belgium (11/1) who will feel this is their last shot at a World Cup with their golden generation.

    Harry Kane – 7/1
    Kylian Mbappe – 8/1

    Golden Boot winner
England talisman Harry Kane leads the way in the battle for the coveted Golden Boot at odds of 7/1 with Sky Bet.
Kane, 28, won the award at the 2018 World Cup after netting six, and could fill his boots in the group stages against Iran and the USA.
Superstar Kylian Mbappe is next at 8/1 after scoring 39 goals in 46 appearances for PSG last season.
He also boasts 27 goals in 57 games for France, and could do damage against Tunisia and Australia in Group D.
It’s no surprise to see Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo third in the betting at 12/1.
Ronaldo finished as the top scorer at the European Championship with five goals — that’s despite Portugal’s elimination in the Round of 16.
Real Madrid hotshot Karim Benzema, who keeps getting better, is locked together with Lionel Messi at 14/1.
Romelu Lukaku (16/1), Neymar (18/1) and Raheem Sterling (20/1) follow, while Diogo Jota, Memphis Depay and Vinicius Junior all share odds of 25/1.
