Liverpool have one week to complete Thiago transfer from Bayern Munich with two clubs £7m apart in valuation

LIVERPOOL are to try and seal a deal for Thiago Alcantara in the coming week after talks with Bayern Munich.
Reports suggest the Premier League champions are around £7million apart from Bayern in their valuations of the midfielder.

Personal terms are said to have already been agreed after discussions opened following the Champions League final.
According to Argentinian outlet Varsky Sports, Liverpool will allow themselves another week to find a solution with Munich.
The Reds’ favoured route to completing the deal is reported using additional bonuses and clauses to bump up the money.

Thiago, 29, said goodbye to his teammates earlier this month with the transfer set to cost in the region of £27m.

Having previously recommended a move to England for the Spaniard, Bayern coach Hansi Flick stated that Thiago’s next destination remains up in the air.
The German said: “I just thanked him for our time together, just like I did every other player.
“I don’t know and he doesn’t know yet either.
“Because we all focused on this Champions League final. I think we will have to wait for what the following days will bring.”

Liverpool’s title defence begins next month with a game against Leeds at Anfield.
And worries that Manchester City will be too hot to handle if Lionel Messi arrives are not universal, with Wayne Rooney suggesting Thiago would be a better addition than the Barcelona ace.
He told talkSPORT: “I think it is City or Liverpool [for the title].

“Manchester United have a lot of potential in the players they have got but I still think they are a year away. Chelsea with the new signings will possibly need a year to get everyone on the same song sheet.
“So I do think it is between City and Liverpool. And if Liverpool get Thiago from Bayern Munich, I think it is done.
“That is a better signing than Messi going to Man City.”

PSG to steal Thiago Alcantara from under Liverpool’s nose with £27m transfer offer for Bayern Munich ace

PSG are reportedly attempting to steal the transfer of Thiago Alcantara from under Liverpool’s noses.
Midfielder Thiago is ready to move on after seven years in Germany with Bundesliga kings Bayern Munich.

PSG are reportedly attempting to steal the transfer of Thiago Alcantara from under Liverpool’s noses
And after snubbing a contract extension, the 29-year-old was given just a £27million price tag.
Premier League champions Liverpool appeared frontrunners to sign the ex-Barcelona playmaker.
But according to Le 10 Sport, PSG are prepared to match an offer to sign Thiago.
They are looking to bolster their midfield for next season and have also been linked with Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, AC Milan’s Ismael Bennacer and Chelsea flop Tiemoue Bakayoko.

But Thiago emerges as another alternative for the Ligue 1 winners, following another stellar season in Germany with 36 appearances.
His contract expires next summer meaning Bayern will have to act fast to demand a higher transfer fee.
They have already secured the £55m signing of Leroy Sane from Manchester City.
And Liverpool target Thiago provides the perfect opportunity for Bayern to recoup funds.

But Anfield boss Jurgen Klopp would not be drawn into confirming his interest in the midfielder, or anyone else.

Klopp told Sky Germany last week: “I have no idea who will play for me next year, there is nothing to say at the moment.
“Thiago Alcantara is a great player, but also a Bayern Munich player.
“That’s actually all there is to say. There’s nothing to say.”

Philippe Coutinho’s agent confirms he wants Premier League return with Arsenal and Tottenham linked with transfer

PHILIPPE COUTINHO wants a returns to the Premier League, according to his agent.
Kia Joorabchian confirmed the news that the former Liverpool star is eyeing up a return to England, with both Arsenal and Tottenham linked with a move.

He told talkSPORT: “Because the Champions League is going to run all the way until August 23, I think it will be difficult for players like Coutinho to make any commitment or move until that date.
“He has the Champions League at the moment and they have to qualify for the next round [against Chelsea], and then he could play Barcelona, believe it or not.
“After the Champions League, it’s not been a secret that he wants to come back to the Premier League if he can; he loves playing in the Premier League and is adored in the Premier League.
“It is one of his priorities… but he is also not against staying at Barcelona, so it is very much open.”

It was previously reported that the Barcelona flop was likely to sign for one of Arsenal, Leicester City or Spurs this summer.
On the subject of which clubs were in the frame, he added: “There is much genuine interest in Philippe because he is a great player and a big success. There is always interest.”

Joorabchian fuelled talk of a return to the English top-flight last month.
He discussed Coutinho’s future on talkSport: “We’re still waiting until the season finishes before we start talking about anything in terms of transfers.

“I’ve always said he loves to play in the Premier League.
“He enjoyed his time very much and if the opportunity arises to come back to the Premier League, whether it be this year or in the future, he’s definitely looking at that.”
The Brazilian playmaker has spent the 2019/20 season on loan at Bayern Munich.
He has signed a deal to remain with the German giants for the conclusion of the Champions League in August.

But it appears he has not done enough to secure a permanent move.
The ex-Anfield No10 moved to Barcelona in a massive £142million deal back in January 2018.
But he failed to deliver at the Nou Camp before being shipped out on loan last summer.
And it is unlikely that he will be able to force himself into Quique Setien’s plans and is assessing his options elsewhere, with a return to England high on his wishlist.
Coutinho bagged nine goals and assisted a further eight in 34 Bundesliga appearances this campaign, showing glimpses of his former self.
After Leicester and Spurs both secured Europa League qualification on the Prem’s final day, they are thought to be realistic potential destinations for the 28-year-old.

Reports suggested Coutinho initially turned down an approach from Arsenal over fears they would not stump up his desired wages.
But a move to join Mikel Arteta’s side remains on the cards ahead of the FA Cup final against Chelsea this weekend.
Former Inter Milan man Coutinho is believed to be taking time out to consider his next move before making a decision after the end of Bayern’s European run.

Man City eye transfer for Bayern Munich star David Alaba with Pep Guardiola wanting to link-up with defender again

MANCHESTER CITY are reportedly eyeing a move for Bayern Munich star David Alaba.
The Mirror claims that Pep Guardiola is interested in reuniting with the Austrian as he looks to mount a title challenge next season.

The City boss has identified left-back as one of the key areas to improve his squad and Alaba’s current contract stand-off is said to have alerted the club to his potential availability.
The 28-year-old’s deal does not expire until next summer but Bayern will likely sell at the end of this season to ensure they get some money in.
Talks have been ongoing over a new contract at the Allianz Arena for more than a year but there has been no breakthrough.
Although still regarded as one of the best left-backs in Europe, Alaba can also play in midfield and centre-back.

It is this versatility that has made Bayern so keen for him to sign a new deal despite the emergence of Alphonso Davies.
Inter Milan, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have all been alerted to Alaba’s situation.
Yet Guardiola’s close relationship with his former charge may give him the edge in negotiations this summer.
The Spaniard is reportedly watching developments closely following concerns over the consistency of Benjamin Mendy and his deputy Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Alaba, who has been at Bayern since 2008, could still command a hefty fee and his age may put off clubs forking out for his wage demands.

He has made an incredible 380 appearances for the Bundesliga champions, winning nine league titles and the 2013 Champions League.
City meanwhile are ready to back Guardiola in the market this summer as they look to win the Premier League back from Liverpool.
The Etihad outfit are understood to be leading the race for Wolves star Adama Traore but face competition from the winger’s former side Barcelona.
