      ‘That was very hard work’ – Robert Lewandowski reveals summer turmoil over Barcelona transfer from Bayern Munich

      ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI admitted it took a lot of hard work to join Barcelona – but he is delighted to have finally signed.The striker, 34, has dreamed of playing for Barca and his wish came true after Bayern Munich agreed to a £42.5million sale.

      Pavard joined Bayern from Stuttgart in 2019 for £31.4m, so the German champions are keen to recoup almost all of that fee.
      He has made 119 appearances for Bayern, scoring five goals and providing 11 assists.

      Lewandowski is set to pen a three-year deal before flying out for Barcelona’s pre-season tour of the US.
      The quick turnaround means Lewandowski will not be able to say a proper goodbye to Bayern – but he was spotted embracing Nagelsmann before leaving the training ground.

      Romano also revealed that Lewandowski was left upset with Bayern after they failed to offer him a convincing new contract offer.
      And this led him to seek an exit, where he agreed personal terms with Barca in February.
      He tweeted: “Robert Lewandowski’s intention to leave Bayern was clear in February, disappointed as he didn’t receive a ‘proper’ new contract bid.
