Randal Kolo Muani has been in red-hot form in the Bundesliga this season
Kolo Muani joined Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer from Nantes last summer, having helped Les Canaris win the Coupe de France last term.
His impressive form saw him earn his maiden France call-up last year, and he went on to be named in Didier Deschamps’ 26-man World Cup squad – coming off the bench in the final.
With Tottenham virtually out of the top four race, United are confident of sealing a deal for Kane in their striker hunt.
But they are keen to avoid a summer transfer saga and could look to other targets should Spurs drag their heels. More

The German tactician replaced Julian Nagelsmann, who appears to be the frontrunner to take over at Tottenham after his controversial departure from the Allianz Arena.
The 49-year-old has struggled to turn the reigning German champions’ fortunes around as he has lost three of his seven matches in charge and only won twice along the way.
The ex-Paris Saint-Germain boss also saw the Bavarians getting knocked out of the German Cup to Freiburg as well as the Champions League to Manchester City.
Bayern are currently second in the Bundesliga table with Tuchel’s former club Borussia Dortmund ahead by one point.

And Tuchel didn’t hold back as he lashed out at his side in frustration just minutes after the final whistle.
He said: “We seem exhausted. We look like a team that has already played 80 games this season.
“We are not able to play football without making mistakes. The games and the points go away and run through our hands like sand.”
The Bayern board is reportedly set to meet next month to discuss the futures of Tuchel, CEO Oliver Kahn and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic amid the club’s recent troubles. More

The Dutchman told VoetbaI International this week: “Training and playing at the top level for a year is beautiful and instructive. Although playing, it is mainly training.
“That has to change next season, then I really want to play weekly again. I haven’t spoken to the club management yet, so just wait and see what happens.
“But it is clear that this role does not match my expectations.”
With the player’s discontent growing, an escape route could soon be on the cards.

BILD reported that the central midfielder was unable to hide his smile when asked about the rumour of him joining Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp is desperate to revamp his ageing midfield with some new talent.
Liverpool have turned their attention on the midfielder, after dropping out of the transfer race for Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.
However, a move to Manchester United could also be a real possibility.
Gravenberch played under United boss Erik Ten Hag at Ajax, and was linked with a move to Old Trafford last year.
The starlet was a product of the Ajax youth academy, and played over 30 matches in both title-winning campaigns under Ten Hag.
The situation has also piqued the interest of Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta’s side have been linked to a host of central midfielders.
The club were close to signing Moises Caicedo from Brighton in January, and West Ham’s captain Declan Rice has been targeted.

Harry Kane is ‘too old and expensive’ for Bayern Munich claims club legend in boost to Man Utd transfer hopes

Bayern Munich and Manchester United are believed to be the frontrunners for the Tottenham star.
But the German giants have been urged to swerve Kane by one of their former players.
Matthaus, who won the league five times in his two spells in Bavaria, believes Kane is not worth the cost at the age of 29 and prefers 24-year-old Victor Osimhen of Napoli.
He also believes that Spurs’ record top scorer, who will likely command a fee north of £100m, is too expensive.

Writing for Sky Deutschland, the 62-year-old said: “I’m excited to see if a new striker comes along.
“Everyone is talking about Victor Osimhen for his sensational performance at Napoli. You never know if he can do that in Munich, but I think he would be a good fit.
“Randal Kolo Muani may need a little more room and space than a Bayern striker usually has, but he’s also good in the box and could work in Munich. Harry Kane would be too old and too expensive for me.
“The price-performance ratio could speak for [Werder Bremen striker] Niclas Füllkrug. He would probably be available for €20-25 million [£17.6m-£22m] and score 25 goals in Munich.”

If Kane does not sign a new contract at Spurs, he would be available for free in the summer of 2024.

“I never understood why we constantly talk about things we theoretically cannot have.

The Dutch youngster only joined Bayern from Ajax last summer for £16million.
But he has started just four games in all competitions this season and could already be looking elsewhere for game time.
Liverpool are said to have sought discussions with Gravenberch’s management ahead of a move for the Amsterdam-born star.
Speaking recently to Ajax Showtime about his first season with the German champions, he said: “Ideally, I would like to be successful at Bayern.
“But if that doesn’t work out and I don’t get a chance, then I might have to look around.
“At the moment I’m not thinking about it and I hope that I can change my situation at Bayern by training and playing well.”
He went on to add: “For me, this season is just the first season where I’ve been struggling and not being able to play much. As a player, you also get better through such experiences.
“I’m still very young and I’m glad I’m experiencing something like this now and not later in my career.”
Alongside his promising club career, Gravenberch has already been capped 11 times by the Netherlands.
However, he did not make Louis van Gaal’s squad for the 2022 World Cup.
