Aubameyang only joined the Catalan club in February and scored 11 goals in 17 LaLiga appearances last season, sparking interest from Chelsea and United.
Erik ten Hag is keen to add the forward to his squad and United have reportedly held talks with Barca about a move.
But if Barcelona do let Aubameyang leave the striker would rather join Chelsea, report the Daily Mail.
The Gabon international worked with Thomas Tuchel previously at Borussia Dortmund and he was a big hit in Germany, scoring 141 goals in 213 appearances for the club.

A move to the Blues would also allow Aubameyang to return to London – where he spent four years playing for Arsenal.
But in order for Chelsea to land the striker they must meet Barcelona’s asking price, which is believed to be around £21million.
And Aubameyang is not pushing to make a move happen given he is happy playing at the Nou Camp, despite the risk of less game time following the signing of Robert Lewandowski.
The news will come as a blow for Ten Hag and United as they urgently look to recruit a new striker.

There are several players reported to be on the club’s radar including Leicester star Jamie Vardy.
Most recently, the Red Devils were said to have had a £110m bid for Atletico Madrid striker Joao Felix turned down.
His team-mate Matheus Cunha is also thought to be of interest for United, who are looking at Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic too. More

Manchester United are currently the front-runners to sign him despite interest from the likes of Chelsea.
However, Dest has been warned his career could be derailed if the joins the ‘toxic’ environment currently present at Old Trafford.
Major League Soccer veteran Herculez Gomez told ESPN he would be better off staying at Barcelona to sit on the bench rather than joining United this summer.
He said: “There is no more toxic situation in all of world football like Manchester United.

“A career derailer if you will for most, no for all. Cristiano Ronaldo has his career derailed at this very moment, what hope does Sergino Dest have.
“I understand you have a centre-back playing your position right now if you’re Dest, but listening to Xavi it almost feels like he’s leaving the door open (to force his way back in).
“I don’t think it’s that grim for him at Barcelona compared to what it could be like at Man United.
“You may get paid better and you may all of a sudden play, but if things don’t go well where do you go from there.”

In order to do this, club officials are willing to offload three players, including Aubameyang.
Chelsea are known to be interested in signing the striker following the departures of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner.

Barcelona provided De Jong with an ultimatum of leaving the club or taking a huge wage cut after claiming the deal he signed in 2020 was illegal.
Fees have already been agreed with Manchester United and Chelsea but the former Ajax star is refusing to leave unless he is paid the £14million he is owed in deferred wages.
And Lineker, who played for Barca between 1986-89, said: “I feel for Frenkie a bit.
“He’s been treated a bit like a piece of meat in the whole thing for circumstances totally out of his control.

“He’s a gifted young player and it’s very important for him he doesn’t go somewhere he doesn’t want to go.
“He has the playing cards in his hand in that sense.
“He will have to be quite strong. It is so weird.
“Barcelona seemingly want him but something has to give and it just seems a shame for it to end up like this.”

Robert Lewandowski, Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen were only registered with La Liga hours before their first game of the season.
But despite the circus, LaLiga TV host Lineker believes his old club can win the title if their financial gamble pays off.
Lineker, 61, added: “I got a feeling Barca can do it.
“It has been a bit all over the shop but they have managed to bring in some top players.
“At some point Real Madrid will go over the top with their great players.
“Modric, Benzema and Kroos are all in their mid 30s and at some point father time is going to catch up with them.
“It’s a gamble what Barcelona have done but it might pay off.
“They were in a perilous position and only had two choices.
