The 31-year-old, who was targeted by the Gunners last January, will fill in for Marc-Andre ter Stegen between the sticks as the German star is set to undergo knee surgery.
Arsenal are reportedly looking to sell their No1 goalkeeper Bernd Leno in the summer following a series of high-profile mistakes in recent months against the likes of Everton, Wolves, Olympiacos, West Ham and Liverpool.
The same goes for back-up keeper Alex Runarsson, who has failed to impress as Leno’s No2 since his £1million move from Rennes in September.
The Iceland international has struggled to step up in the Europa League and had an absolute nightmare when the north Londoners lost 4-1 to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.

Based on these reports, manager Mikel Arteta will soon be in dire need of a new goalkeeper after recently selling Emiliano Martinez and Matt Macey to Aston Villa and Hibernian respectively.
Neto, who has only amassed a mere 16 appearances since joining Barcelona from Valencia in a swap deal that included Jasper Cillessen in 2019, is not the only Arsenal target.

The Gunners are also keeping tabs on Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Unai Simon, who has registered 43 appearances across all competitions this season.
Simon’s impressive performances in LaLiga has also attracted interest from West Ham, Borussia Dortmund and Monaco.
Arteta appears to have drawn an axe list ahead of the summer transfer window, which includes Leno, Hector Bellerin, Lucas Torreira, Sead Kolasinac, Ainsley Maintland-Niles and Matteo Guendouzi.
Arsenal are looking to raise at least £60m from player sales in order to fund their summer transfer bids as they are likely to miss out on European qualification for the first time in 25 years.

But first, the Blaugrana need to raise some funds in order to meet the star striker’s staggering €150million (£129m) asking price after the coronavirus pandemic’s financial impact.
According to Matteo Moretto, who works for Italian Sky Sports and Di Marzio, the Catalan giants will listen to offers for Griezmann at the end of the season.
The talismanic forward has failed to replicate his Atletico Madrid success at the Nou Camp ever since his €120m (£108m) move two years ago.
The France international has improved this season with 19 goals and 12 assists in 49 matches across all competitions.
However, Barcelona would be willing to let the 30-year-old go for the right price.

If Griezmann leaves Catalonia then that would open up a spot in Ronald Koeman’s attack.
Barca have joined the bidding war for Dortmund superstar Haaland along with Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid.
The Blaugrana have reportedly made their opening bid of £90m for the Norway international.
They are looking to beat rivals Real, who are said to have won the race to activate the £64.4m (€75m) release clause the 20-year-old Norwegian and the Bundesliga giants have agreed on for next year.

Ian McGarry of the Transfer Window podcast said: “Barcelona have made an initial bid that we understand to be €105m (£90.1m).
“I suspect that it’s not a bid that they believe will be accepted by Borussia Dortmund, given the valuation of the player is probably upwards of €150m (£129m).
“However, as all negotiations do they start with a whisper rather than with a shout.
“[Barcelona president Joan Laporta] has effectively made the opening shot if you like to Borussia Dortmund, with regards to trying to fund a deal.”

A move back to Spain has been on the cards since last year after Ronald Koeman failed to secure his services.
It has been claimed that Garcia has even agreed to take a pay-cut in order to link up with the LaLiga giants.
Despite being heavily linked with Barcelona, Arsenal and Chelsea were rumoured to be interested in the youngster.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta knows the player well having worked alongside Pep Guardiola at the Etihad, but Garcia has only ever had eyes on returning to Catalonia.
And according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, no other clubs besides Barca have been in talks with the Spain international.
He tweeted: “Eric Garcia has signed his pre-contract until June 2026 with Barcelona since December.
“No other club has been in talks – Eric only wanted to join Barca.
“[Barcelona president Joan] Laporta also approved the deal and it’s going to be announced at the end of the season.”

Garcia has been limited to just ten appearances in all competitions for City this term after falling down the pecking order.
Ruben Dias, John Stones and Aymeric Laporte are the preferred options, while Nathan Ake has also seen more game time.
Speaking of Garcia after City’s Carabao Cup final victory over Tottenham, Guardiola said: “There are players even who don’t play any matches.
“I think, for example, of Eric Garcia who is one of my favourite players.
“I would love to have 15 Eric Garcia’s for the way he conducts his behaviour. He is always thinking of the team.

“He’s always a good face in the good or bad moments. He helps the manager and the backroom staff all the time.”
Before adding: “He will go in an incredible team and when the people say they are unsatisfied if I don’t play, I think of Eric.
“Most of the time he’s not on the bench because he’s going to move to Barcelona, I hope so. It’s tough, but it is what it is.”

And Barcelona have been leading the race to sign the South American as he prepares to team up with countryman Lionel Messi.
But according to Mundo Deportivo Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman wants to bring in his own compatriot Memphis Depay instead.
Depay, 27, has scored 19 goals and assisted another ten in 35 games for Lyon this season.
Only Kylian Mbappe has netted more times in Ligue 1 in what has been another impressive campaign for the Frenchman.
Since arriving in Lyon at the beginning of 2017, Depay has scored a sensational 75 goals and laid on 53 assists in 176 games.
Meanwhile, Aguero has struggled to find any sort of form for Man City this season.
The Argentine has played just 18 times for Pep Guardiola’s side in the 2020-21 campaign, scoring four goals.
And last weekend he issued an apology to the Man City fans after a failed attempt at a Panenka penalty in his team’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are also keen to secure Messi’s future as his contract expires in the summer.
And it was reported earlier this month that they are preparing to offer him a new ten-year deal to keep him at the club until the end of his career.
The Catalan side have also been linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, although they will face stiff competition from the likes of Real Madrid, Man City and Chelsea if they wish to acquire him.

Juventus reject transfer approaches from Chelsea and Barcelona for defender Matthijs de Ligt and refuse to sell Dutchman

JUVENTUS have turned down offers from Barcelona and Chelsea for star defender Matthijs de Ligt ahead of the summer transfer window, according to reports.De Ligt has been among Juve’s most impressive players amid a rather turbulent season under manager Andrea Pirlo, which could even see them missing out on Champions League qualification.

A report from Tuttosport claims Chelsea were the first to show an interest for the centre-back, whose consistent performances have seen the Bianconeri conceding a mere 31 goals in 34 Serie A matches.
Barca also made an approach for the Netherlands international after their failed bid in 2019, which is when he moved to Turin from Ajax.
However, both transfer requests have been turned down by Juventus, who just recently conceded the Serie A crown to Inter Milan.
Barcelona have been courting De Ligt for two years now, ever since he and other young Dutch talents, like Frenkie de Jong and Donny van de Beek, burst onto the scene for Ajax.
The three of them shone bright under manager Erik ten Hag and led the Amsterdam giants to a domestic double as well as the Champions League semi-finals.

Barca had been hoping to bring back the old glory days by investing in some of Holland’s greatest talents like they did in the past with Johan Cruyff, Ronald Koeman, Patrick Kluivert and more.
The Blaugrana successfully landed De Jong but came up short with De Ligt, who opted for Juventus.
Barcelona have reportedly formed a bond with Juve, following the recent swap that saw Miralem Pjanic moving to Catalonia and Arthur going the other way.
However, that hasn’t been enough to force a deal between the European Super League partners over De Ligt.
The 21-year-old has amassed a total of 70 appearances at Juventus where he has also registered five goals and two assists.

Neymar leaves Barcelona feeling ‘betrayed and used’ by signing new PSG contract after holding talks over transfer return

NEYMAR has left former club Barcelona feeling ‘betrayed and used’ after signing a new contract with Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports. The Brazilian had been linked with a return to the Catalan giants four years after departing for a world record fee.

But those rumours were quashed earlier this week when Neymar signed a new deal with the French champions.
The contract extension, which will see him earn £500,000 per week, keeps him at the Parc des Princes until 2025.
And according to RAC1, Neymar’s decision to snub Barcelona for PSG has left those on the board of the Spanish giants feeling disgruntled.
They report that Barca feel betrayed – and after holding talks with the Brazilian ace they also think they’ve been used.
During his successful spell with Barca, he scored 105 goals in 186 games and was a part of the MSN forward trio which also included Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
But he has been equally as impressive since arriving in France, netting 85 times in 112 appearances.
Prior to signing the extension with PSG, Neymar told the media: “I have got time left on my contract here at PSG. We want to do what is best for everyone.
“I have already said that I am happy here and I feel much better than in the previous seasons.
“There are some aspects that I have improved here. I also went through difficult times with things that people know about.

“I have always worked hard and have always been professional, contrary to what some people believe.
“PSG have grown a lot, the club is more respected. When people talk about PSG, they know that we are in the last four, five or six teams in the Champions League.”
Neymar has won Ligue 1 in each of his three full seasons with PSG.
But the club face a major challenge if they are to clinch another league title this season.
They currently sit four points behind Lille with a game in hand, but are relying on their title rivals to slip up in one of their final two matches.
Meanwhile, PSG’s hopes of a second successive Champions League final were ended by Manchester City in the last four.

Earlier this month, the player’s dad and agent Jorge Messi landed in Spain in preparation for the talks.
And it has been mooted that Barcelona’s ambition in the transfer market will be a big factor in securing his commitment.
According to Eurosport, Messi will even accept a hefty wage cut if the savings are funnelled into improving the squad.
Borussia Dortmund star Haaland is known to be a top target of the LaLiga giants.
The Norwegian’s dad, Alf-Inge, and agent, Mino Raiola, recently flew into the city for transfer talks.
But the Bundesliga club will demand a fee north of £150m – which may be lowered if they fail to reach next season’s Champions League.
Barcelona were struggling under a ballooning wage bill before the pandemic, which has exacerbated their financial problems.
Rival interest in Messi is expected to come from Paris Saint-Germain with only two months to go until he is a free agent.

Ronald Koeman is hoping to bolster his squad with cheap deals for Eric Garcia, Memphis Depay and Georginio Wijnaldum rumoured for when their contracts expire at the end of the season.

The Catalans had the chance to reach the top of the table on Thursday but lost 2-1 at home to Granada, with leaders Atletico Madrid coming to the Camp Nou in a week’s time.

Barcelona return for Depay but offer Lyon star HALF original pay packet despite transfer interest from three Euro giants

BARCELONA have reportedly cut their salary offer for Memphis Depay by HALF amid the club’s economic turmoil. The upcoming contract negotiations with Lionel Messi will coincide with attempts to reinforce Ronald Koeman’s squad on the cheap.
Memphis Depay is set to become a free agent in the summerCredit: AFP
The Dutch coach has wanted to sign compatriot Depay, 27, for almost a year but will have to wait until he leaves Lyon as a free agent in the summer.
According to Spanish outlet Onze TV3, talks are underway with both Koeman and the player intent on reuniting at the Camp Nou.
However, as reported by Mundo Deportivo, the winger is not being offered the same terms as in previous talks.
Barcelona are said to have sat down with Depay’s camp in October in the hope of a January window switch to replace Ousmane Dembele.
French winger Dembele stayed put and therefore, given the club’s tight financial picture, their pay packet offer to Depay has reportedly been halved.
The former Manchester United flop’s desire to sign for the Catalans will be tested amid talk of rival interest.
Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Inter Milan are all described as keen on a move and would offer a bigger wage.
Depay has rebuilt his career in Lyon having left Old Trafford in 2017.
