Watch Harry Kane speak German for first time in Audi advert with Muller as fans say ‘does a Bafta count as a trophy?’

HARRY KANE showed off his German for the very first time as he starred in a new advert for Audi with two Bayern Munich team-mates.The England captain, 30, is preparing to face Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-final second leg tonight with the tie poised at 2-2.Harry Kane has shown off his German in a new advertCredit: AudiThe star was joined by Thomas Muller and Mathys Tel in the Audi adCredit: AudiKane has enjoyed a brilliant first season personally at Bayern, scoring 39 times in 39 games, but he could still end the campaign trophyless after Bayer Leverkusen sealed their first-ever Bundesliga title at the weekend. One of the major obstacles he has had to overcome in his new surroundings is the language barrier.Kane refused Rio Ferdinand’s request in December to speak German live on TNT Sports but did reveal that he was taking a couple of lessons a week. That was after fans were left in hysterics after spotting the awkward moment Kane realised he could not argue with a German referee shortly after his £104m move from Tottenham.READ MORE ON FOOTBALLHowever, the star showed off some of his newly-learnt lingo as he joined Thomas Muller and Mathys Tel in an advert for the club’s official partner Audi.Kane is behind the wheel driving the motor as Muller asks him: “Harry, where are we going?”He replies “Umleitung” as he follows a sign showing the word – which translates to detour – to the left..The ex-Spurs ace then does another manoeuvre through the Bavarian streets as pal Tel, who is sat in the back seat, asks Muller if Kane is serious. Most read in BundesligaCASINO SPECIAL – BEST CASINO WELCOME OFFERSHerman legend Muller then asks: “Harry, you know ‘Umleitung’ isn’t a place right?”To which Kane responds: “Thomas, I know. Maybe it was in the back of the mind, being released from a young age, and there’s always a point to prove.“But for me here, it’s a different chapter, a different moment. I don’t think specifically back to it now.”This one will have stung Kane the most… what’s the German for schadenfreude?, says Dave KiddOF all the trophies Harry Kane has missed out on, this one will have stung the most.
This was supposed to have been a dead cert. This was nailed-on.
Bayern Munich had won 11 successive Bundesliga titles, so when the England captain signed for the great Bavarian powerhouse last summer, we all said: “Well, at least he’ll finally win something.”
Yet on Sunday evening, there were Bayer Leverkusen — known in Germany as ‘Neverkusen’ because they hadn’t previously won the league thanks to several late implosions — cavorting around, 16 points clear, unbeaten in all competitions and confirmed as champions with five games to spare.
And so the greatest trophy curse in footballing history continues.
And this one really is freakish because Leverkusen’s story is almost as extraordinary as Leicester City’s miracle title in 2015-16 — the season when Kane won his first Premier League Golden Boot and Tottenham ended up ‘third in a two-horse race’ behind Arsenal.
Kane is always the runner-up, always the nearly man, always the fall guy, too often a figure of fun for those taking pleasure in the misfortune of others.
Does anyone know the German word for schadenfreude…?

New F1 team tipped to poach Brit driving ace dubbed the ‘Jude Bellingham of racing’

LANDO NORRIS has been dubbed the “Jude Bellingham of Formula 1” who can be the poster boy for Audi’s 2026 entrance into the sport. The Brit has starred for McLaren since entering the grid in 2019.

Jude Bellingham has had an amazing start to life at Real MadridCredit: Getty
Last year he penned a new £50million contract with McLaren running until the end of the 2025 season.
Contemplating Norris’ F1 future, Sky Sports’ Craig Slater said: “Lando Norris, he’s the Jude Bellingham of Formula 1 in transfer terms.
“If he were a footballer, I think he’d be in the 100 million category. He’s young, he’s talented, he’s marketable as well.
“Consider another couple of factors, he is McLaren’s senior driver now, he is in his sixth year at the team. Five years as an F1 driver, but he had been in development terms before that as well. He’s the leader of the team.
    READ MORE IN SPORT
“The other big question in terms of what his transfer value is, does he have a release clause in his contract? Not to my knowledge, to any great degree, which means anyone wanting to sign him up would have to pay top dollar for his services.”
McLaren chief executive Zak Brown addressed his star man’s future earlier this year, telling Sky: “He has zero exit clauses.
“Ultimately, when his contract is next up, if we are not performing and he doesn’t feel he can win races and can compete for the championship, then I think anybody, driver or team member for that matter [would be considering leaving], we are all here to win.
“He has got a contract with us and, most importantly, he is very happy here and he sees the progress that we are making, and he is a team player.”

Slater, however, reckons that Norris could sign up with Audi ahead of their 2026 arrival, as they aim to make a big splash upon their entry into F1.
He added: “Are McLaren ready to let him go? Absolutely not. Is there a team out there that desperately needs to sign Lando Norris? Well maybe not right now.
“Ferrari seem to be well enough covered, Mercedes look like they’ll continue to work with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell for the years ahead. And Max Verstappen is firmly ensconced at Red Bull.
“Audi could be interesting in a couple of years’ time. When they come into Formula 1, they will want a big name to be the face of their team.
“Might Lando Norris fit the bill in that regard? Might he link up again with this former boss at McLaren Andreas Seidl? But a lot of depends on where McLaren are at in a couple of years.”
Red Bull boss Christian Horner was coy when asked about Norris by Sky Sports this week.
He said: “Lando’s a great driver. He’s a big talent, big personality and of course he’s one of those drivers that you keep an eye on.
“But there’s many drivers that you keep an eye on as well. There’s a generation of drivers out there at the moment that have got a huge amount of talent.

“As you can imagine, there’s quite a bit of interest from certain sectors about driving a Red Bull car.”

Inside Alexis Sanchez’s amazing £750,000 fleet of supercars including monster £160k Bentley and £130k Audi he crashed

ALEXIS SANCHEZ had a less-than-desirable end to his Premier League career with Manchester United. However, this did not stop the Chilean from earning a pretty sum from his time at the club thanks to his £350,000-a-week contract.

Add his three-and-a-half years at Arsenal to his time at Barcelona, Inter Milan and Marseille, and Sanchez has earned well over £115million throughout his football career.
And Sanchez has not spared any expense on some of the nicer things in life.
The loves of his life, a company of four dogs including two golden retrievers named Atom and Humber, enjoy a lavish life with the forward.
But Sanchez’s splurges do not end there, as proven by a fleet of supercars worth over £750,000.
    READ MORE IN FOOTBALL
Not to mention the other modes of transport Sanchez has at his disposal – including the chartering of a private jet.
Although, Sanchez is far from a saint on the road.
He was once banned from driving in his homeland of Chile after being caught speeding at 96mph in a 75mph zone just outside the capital of Santiago.
SunSport has taken a look at Sanchez’s garage of supercars.

Bentley Bentayga Black Edition – £160,000+
In 2019 Sanchez opted to add an SUV to his collection.
Much like former team-mate David de Gea, who has an impressive car collection of his own, Sanchez added a luxury SUV to his collection.
However, unlike ex-club-mates Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku – who splashed £250,000 on a Rolls Royce Wraith – Sanchez went for a Bentley Bentayga.
The monster Bentley, capable of going from 0-60mph in just four seconds, could set punters back anywhere between £156,000 to £259,000.
This five-door 4×4 comes equipped with a V8 engine, – last used by F1 cars in 2013 – four-wheel drive and can reach a top speed of 180mph.
The Black Edition which Sanchez opted for came with a little juice up on both its performance and design.
Mansory, a luxury car modification firm from Germany, added some of their unique flare to the mix on the wheels and its diamond-polished rim surface.
In addition, the rework with Mansory saw the car given a power boost, with an extra 10mph of top speed and increased torque.
The luxury Bentley Bentayga can be sold for up to £259,000Credit: Eamonn and James Clarke
    Bentley Continental GT – £186,000
The Bentayga is not the only Bentley in Sanchez’s collection.
He also owns a Continental GT, another Bentley beast in its own right.
Like the Bentayga, the GT has a V8 engine.
However, the GT possesses more power than its sister car and can therefore reach a higher speed of 198mph.
It can also reach 0-60mph in just 3.9 seconds.
The price of the GT is also more than a match, with estimates placing it between £186,000 and £273,000.
Sanchez also has a luxury Bentley Continental GTCredit: Cavendish Press
    Range Rover Sport – £84,000
Keeping with the theme of British cars, Sanchez also has a Range Rover Sport.
The car is far slower than the aforementioned Bentley’s off the line, taking 6.6 seconds to reach 60mph.
It is also far slower with a top speed of 135mph – not that Range Rovers are typically designed with speed in mind.
Range Rover set the price of this model at £84,000, but that did not prevent Sanchez’s motor from seeing its share of bumps and bruises in 2018.
Following a meal at a restaurant, Sanchez returned to his car to find that his front wing had been scraped – an overall minor but nevertheless expensive to fix piece of damage.
Two weeks later the bad luck continued as Sanchez was struck with a fine from a traffic warden after parking his car on double yellow lines outside another restaurant in Wilmslow.

    Audi R8 – £135,000+
Talking of damage, Sanchez was fortunate to not be killed in a car crash when he was still at Barcelona.
Sanchez was driving his Audi following Barcelona’s Copa Catalunya final win over Espanyol in 2013 in the early hours of the morning.
However, at 2:30am Sanchez crashed into the central barrier on a motorway close to the city centre.
The incident saw Sanchez land in hot water with the law after he abandoned his mangled car in the road without notifying the police.
Sanchez had been picked up by an unnamed team-mate following the crash.
Local press shared pictures of the stunning incident and described Sanchez avoiding injury as a “miracle”.

    Lamborghini Huracan – £200,000
Lamborghini’s prowess in making supercars is matched by very few, so it would make sense that Sanchez would pick one up during a trip to Miami in 2016.
The Italian-made car is one of the fastest ever made, reaching 0-60mph in just 2.8s.
It is also capable of reaching speeds of up to 201mph – not that he would be able to reach such heights due to Miami speed limit laws setting highways at 70mph.
It is a common practice to grab a rental car when visiting another country, and this was likely the case for the then-Arsenal ace too.
Such activity is expensive, however, with renters charging between £483 to £2,421 a day depending on the model.
At retail, the Huracan can go for between £164,000 to well above £200,000 depending on the model.

Premier League star Odsonne Edouard caught driving with no licence in Audi RS Q8 after 5 speeding offences in 2 weeks

PREMIER League star Odsonne Edouard has been caught driving without a licence after raking up five speeding offences in two weeks. The Crystal Palace striker, 25, was snapped illegally behind the wheel of his Audi RS Q8, prompting police to seize the car.

Edouard first caught the cops’ attention while driving through London with a French number plate and “heavy” tinted windows.
The force ran a check on the car and found it had a list of speeding offences.
When the footballer was pulled over he couldn’t show a licence or insurance.
Edouard recently appeared in the Bromley magistrates court and was slapped with a fine of more than £1,000 – with points being added to his licence.

The Evening Standard reported Sergeant James Stead told the court: “My automatic number plate recognition system alerted me that the vehicle was known for speeding offences.”
Speaking about when the footballer was pulled over in August, the officer said: “He only had a picture of the front of a French driving licence, but had no sort of insurance.
“Mr Eduoard showed us a digital image of one side of a French driving licence, but did not have it on him physically, and could provide no other proof of having a driving licence.”
The Sergeant added that he had trouble explaining what was happening to Edouard as he “spoke limited English”.

A police database showed the car had also built up five speeding offences in just two weeks.
Edouard, who has landed 10 goals since a 2021 switch to the Premier League, did not enter a plea or engage with the court but was found guilty of driving without a valid licence and insurance.
He was given eight points, a £660 fine, and ordered to pay £100 in costs and a £264 victim surcharge.
A lawyer for the player told the Standard that Edouard was unaware of the court proceedings and said that a legal challenge is now being planned.
He was prosecuted through the single justice procedure, and sentenced in a behind-closed-doors hearing at the end of March.
Crystal Palace declined to comment on the striker’s court case. More
