      Ahead of the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, the South African star lost her appeal against World Athletics at the Swiss Supreme Court following a CAS decision.

      Two-time Olympic champion Semenya, 29, said: “I’m very disappointed by this ruling, but refuse to let World Athletics drug me or stop me from being who I am.
      “Excluding female athletes or endangering our health solely because of our natural abilities puts World Athletics on the wrong side of history.”
      Jake Wightman, runner-up at the British Champs on Saturday, has run the fastest 800m time by a Brit for eight years.
      The middle-distance runner, 26, smashed his personal best with a blistering victorious time of 1:44.18 in Ostrava, Czech Republic.

      This puts him 10th in the UK all-time rankings – one spot behind 1980 Olympic champion Steve Ovett.

      USAIN BOLT has contracted coronavirus just days after his birthday party, according to reports.
      The retired sprint king, who turned 34 on Friday, is understood to have taken a test a few days ago which returned positive today.

      It is believed the Jamaican star staged a massive bash with social distancing ignored
      The Jamaican is said to be have gone into self-isolation but, as reported by Nationwide Radio XJ, it is unclear if he has been displaying symptoms of the virus.
      Bolt celebrated his birthday with a surprise party and the report adds that Manchester City and England star Raheem Sterling was in attendance.
      Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey, cricket hero Chris Gayle and reggae singer Christopher Martin were also allegedly at the bash organised by Bolt’s girlfriend Kasi Bennett.
      Local media did express concern over Bolt’s party amid reports over a lack of face masks and videos appear to suggest safety precautions were not followed.

      Jamaica has had a confirmed total of 1,413 Covid-19 cases and 16 deaths on the island of around 3million.
      But there are fears it could be on the rise, especially in the capital Kingston, with 410 new cases in the last 14 days.
      The athletics superstar enjoyed his first birthday as a father this year after he and long-time partner Bennett welcomed their baby girl Olympia Lightning in May.
      He took to social media to post an adorable photo holding his daughter over the weekend.

      He captioned the post: “Best Birthday Ever.”
      Partner Kasi shared the same picture and wrote an emotional birthday message to the fastest man to ever live.
      She wrote: “On August 21, 1986, the world welcomed a future legend. He would go on to become the world’s fastest man and achieve the seemingly unattainable.
      “He captured the hearts of not only his fans but a one, Kasi Bennett.
      “They would then have the most beautiful child out of pure love, Olympia Bolt. And thus began his greatest journey yet…
      “Happy birthday to the man I am blessed to call my love. Olympia has the the world’s greatest daddy.
      “The way you love us is otherworldly and I hope we made this day the most memorable birthday you’ve ever had! We love you so much my baby.
      “I won’t do much writing (after that hella long letter this morning) but know that you are God-blessed and high favoured. I love you baby. My king forever.”

      Bolt retired from the track after the 2017 World Championships in London after suffering a hamstring injury in his final race.
      He won nine gold medals – in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m – across the Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympics, but had the Beijing relay medal stripped after team-mate Nesta Carter failed a drugs test.
      The 6ft 5ins hero – who tried to get into professional football after hanging up his spikes – also holds world records in the 100m and 200m events having clocked 9.58 seconds and 19.19 seconds respectively at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin.

      Gymnast Courtney Tulloch, para-swimmer Alice Tai and basketball player Dominique Allen have gone out of their comfort zone in recent months.
      The trio are set to be important members of Team England at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, which start on July 28, 2022.
      Tulloch, 24, said: “Gymnastics is a really difficult, if not virtually impossible, sport to replicate without access to all my usual equipment.
      “In an odd way, I’ve kind of enjoyed the challenge of finding new ways to train.

      “I’ve used my body more than ever and used household objects, or natural elements like trees in the park and outdoor spaces, to work on my strength and conditioning.
      “It’s a relief the restrictions are starting to lift though because I have missed my Team England teammates.

      “Despite the sunshine, it was still a shock to the system to get into the water and very different from my normal training environment.”

      The eight-time Olympic gold-medallist shared the first snap of his daughter earlier this month after she was born in May.

      Even though she has been named Olympia Lightning, Bolt will not force her into athletics.
      Speaking to Codelist, the Jamaican legend said: “I’ll try not to push her into athletics.
      “It is not for everyone.
      “Also, it will be more difficult for her, because she will be in comparison with me.

      “But if she wants to do it, I’ll support her.”
      Bolt welcomed his new arrival to the world with long-term partner Kasi Bennett.
      He has been dating Bennett since 2014, but the pair did not go public with their relationship until 2016.
      The sprint legend confirmed she was pregnant in January with a post on his Instagram page.

      And Bolt, who retired in 2017, admitted he has been enjoying his first few months as a father.

      AMERICAN sprinter Noah Lyles thought he was the fastest man on the planet after smashing Usain Bolt’s 200m record – but then realised he’s made a huge mistake.
      The 22-year-old had just clocked a time of 18.90 seconds at the Inspirational Games – significantly quicker than Bolt’s 19.19 he set in 2009.

      Lyles was racing in Florida, in a transatlantic virtual race against Churandy Martina in Holland and Frenchman Christophe Lemaitre in Switzerland.
      He blew away the rest of the field and looked almost in disbelief when he saw his own time show up on the clock.
      When he crossed the line, BBC commentator Steve Cram said: “That cannot be right.
      “Even he has got his hands in the air wondering what is going on.” 

      With a previous personal best of 19.50, it didn’t take long to determine why his time broke a world record.

      It then emerged that Lyles had been running in the wrong lane and had, in fact, only sprinted 185m.
      The world champion later tweeted: “You can’t be playing with my emotions like this….Got me in the wrong lane smh.”
      Lyles’ error meant he missed out on the £8000 winner’s cheque with Lemaitre taking the money with a time of 20.65.

      Meanwhile Bolt has been making his mark again after sharing pictures of his baby daughter Olympia Lightning.
