    Olympic legend Usain Bolt has ‘millions of dollars disappear’ from investment account as investigation launched

    OLYMPIC icon Usain Bolt has reportedly seen “millions of dollars disappear” as an investigation is launched into the matter.The manager of the eight-time Olympic gold medallist, Nugent Walker, has confirmed the Jamaica’s Financial Investigations Division and Financial Services Commission are looking into the investment firm, Stocks and Securities Limited [SSL].

    Bolt is a client of SSL’s, with the report stating the investment firm have also contacted police.
    Walker revealed to Jamaican newspaper The Gleaner that Bolt had identified an issue with his account on Wednesday.
    The same newspaper claims an SSL employee is being investigated for fraud.
    Walker said: “All the relevant steps have been taken to come to the bottom of this.

    “He’s been with this entity for over ten years. His entire portfolio is being reviewed.”
    A lawyer representing the accused employee at SSL claims she has been in discussion with the company’s legal team for a fortnight.
    The representative said: “My client is in discussion with SSL and the lawyers representing SSL.”
    Bolt, who is the highest-earning individual his sport has ever seen, retired from athletics in 2017.

    Forbes claimed in his final 12 months of competition alone he raked in more than £25million on and off-track earnings.
    Bolt won the 100m and 200m titles at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
    Four years later in London, the Jamaican retained those two titles and also scooped another gold in the 4x100m relay.
    Then in Rio in 2016, he won all three yet again to take his tally to eight gold medals.
    He retired after the 2017 world championships where he finished third in the 100 metres behind Justin Gatlin and Christian Coleman. More

    Taking to her Instagram story, Schmidt posted footage of herself and her training partners blasting an ab workout following an endurance session at the track.
    And the workout was gruelling, to say the least.
    Schmidt – who has been dubbed ‘the World’s Sexiest Athete’ – and her training partners kicked things off with bicycles before going into leg-raised Russian twists.

    She then performed individual single Supermans before going into some leg raises and reverse crunches.
    The workout didn’t stop there as cranked out a series of leg raises and v sit-ups before closing it out with leg-raised crunches.
    Recovery is just as important for athletes as the hard training itself.
    And Schmidt did hers by chilling by the pool and topping up her tan on a sun lounger.

    And she finished her series of story updates by filming her waking up in bed and going for a spot of brunch.
    Schmidt has set her sights on competing at Paris 2024 and plans to give everything she’s got to compete at the next Games.
    She told SunSport: “It’s an amazing thing about passion.
    “If you love something, if you have a strong passion for something, it will get you out of bed, and you make extreme measures to chase the goal.
    “Being on the track, trying to push my myself to the absolute limit, that’s the feeling I live for.
    “It means that I have to sacrifice a lot of things yes.

    Rosi Mittermaier dead at 72: Double Olympic ski champion dies after ‘serious illness’ as family pay tribute

    TWO-TIME German Olympic ski champion Rosi Mittermaier has died at the age of 72.One of the stars of the 1976 Winter Olympics, Mittermaier passed away after a “serious illness” surrounded by family.

    A statement released by her loved ones read: “We as a family announce the sad news that our beloved wife, mum and grandma passed away peacefully on January 4th, 2023 after a serious illness surrounded by the family.”
    Mittermaier is regarded as one of the greatest skiers in history, having made her World Cup debut aged just 16 in 1967.
    But her biggest success as a pro athlete undoubtedly came in 1976.
    Aged 25, she finally won her first overall World Cup title, plus the slalom and combined discipline titles.

    That same year, Mittermaier also dominated the slopes at the Winter Olympic Games in Innsbruck, Austria.
    She won gold medals in both the downhill and slalom events.
    And Mittermaier even took silver in the giant slalom too.
    Only Soviet Union cross-country skier Raisa Smetanina could match her achievements.

    And Mittermaier became a national icon in Germany as a result, earning the nickname ‘Gold Rosi’.
    But despite being at the peak of her career, and only nine years on from her debut as a teen, Mittermaier decided to retire from skiing.
    Finishing with 16 German national titles, she eventually married Christian Neureuther, himself a winner of six World Cup slalom races.
    And the couple’s son Felix is a former World champion skier who only retired from the spot in 2019.
    After leaving the world of skiing, Mittermaier became involved in charitable work while also commentating for German TV.
    And in 2000 she set up a charity to help children suffering from rheumatism. More

    Anthony Hughes dead aged 63: Welsh performance manager who brought through Team GB Paralympic icons dies unexpectedly

    PARALYMPIC athlete and performance manager Anthony Hughes MBE has died unexpectedly aged 63.The Welshman competed at the 1992 Paralympics in Barcelona for the shot put and the javelin.

    He also won World Championships silver for the shot in 1994 held the world record.
    Hughes transitioned into performance management in 1999 after retiring and was a key figure in advancing Welsh inclusive and Para-sport with his role at Disability Sport Wales.
    The organisation confirmed he suddenly sadly passed away on December 30.
    Disability Sport Wales tweeted: “Ant was a loving father and brother, our Performance Manager, friend, colleague, athlete, coach, and an absolute advocate, champion and ambassador for disability sport in Wales and across the world.

    “His reach and impact was unsurpassed.
    “His determination to ensure everyone achieved their potential through opportunity and equity was unparalleled, and made a difference to so many hundreds and thousands of lives.
    “There are no words to express the loss, sadness and disbelief this news brings. Ant will be missed always, but we will continue to fight for the legacy he so believed in – a Wales where sport has equity at its heart and everyone has the right to achieve their potential.
    “Ant taught us all so many lessons, inspired us, and gave us so much knowledge through his story telling, and we will honour him in the days and weeks to come with stories about his life, his impact and his legacy.

    Disability Sport Wales CEO Fiona Read said Hughes “was ahead of his time” and “we won’t ever see the likes of Ant again in sport”.
    Hughes worked with the likes of Aled Sion Davies, Josie Pearson and Hollie Arnold who all won Paralympic gold medals.
    Under his guidance, the number of Welsh Paralympians rose from 17 in Sydney 2000 to 38 at London 2012 – with 21 in Tokyo 2020 and 14 medals won.
    Hughes was named Sport Wales Coach of the Year in 2011, inducted into the UK Coaching Hall of Fame in 2012 and received his MBE from the Queen for services to sport in 2013. More
