Arsenal are said to have immediately informed Palace that the England international is not available.
The North London club are reportedly steadfast that a deal for Nketiah to leave the Emirates will not happen in January as things stand.
But it is yet to be seen if that may change in the near future depending on incoming business from Mikel Arteta’s side in the winter window.
Crystal Palace have been eyeing Nketiah for a long time and are in the market for a new centre-forward.

The 24-year-old is Arsenal’s top scorer in the Premier League this season with his five goals.
But he often falls victim of limited game time and is regularly chosen to play second fiddle to Gabriel Jesus.
Arsenal have also been linked with bringing in a new striker as they look to improve their chances in the title race.
Nketiah’s future with the club could depend on whether or not Arteta and Edu are able to bring in a new centre-forward in January.

The Gunners have been linked to Brenford’s Ivan Toney as well as Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
But it has been widely reported it will be difficult for Arsenal to bring in big money striker in the upcoming window.
However, if they are able to land themselves a game-changing forward then it’s much more likely Nketiah will be allowed to leave.
Should that be the case then Crystal Palace will be among a number of teams who could sign the Hale End graduate. More

Ian Wright names top level striker Arsenal ‘need to sign’ in transfer window after drawing a blank against West Ham

IAN WRIGHT has named the “top level” striker Arsenal need to sign in January following their 2-0 defeat to West Ham.The Gunners missed the opportunity to go back to the top of the Premier League table despite dominating and having 30 shots in goal during the match.

The front three of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli misfired with the Gunners wasting opportunities before Tomas Soucek’s 13th minute opener.
The Gunners rained shots down on West Ham’s goal in response, with Saka going closest by hitting the post.
But overall, Alphonse Areola did not have to do much to keep the Gunners at bay.
Mikel Arteta admitted afterwards that his side had been wasteful in front of goal and cited West Ham’s sharp finishing as the difference.

And Ian Wright says that if the Gunners are tow in the title this year, signing a striker is essential.
He told Premier League productions after the game: “The calibre of player Arsenal need right now i somebody who hits the ground running, a top end striker, like the [Victor] Osimhens of this world… that level of striker.
“If Arsenal want to do it now they’re going to need that level of goalscorer who will slot in straight away.
“That’s what they probably need now. I don’t think any Arsenal fan will look at the game and not see that we need a killer in front of goal.”

Arteta was asked about potential reinforcements in January and said: “What we have is the players that we have, it’s the players that I love the most.
“What we have to do is try to get better situations, and more training, put them there and raise their confidence and that’s it because they have done it.
“‘If we don’t score goals in thirty shots, we have to do fifty or sixty to try to score, it’s the only thing.
“I cannot imagine a game that you have more dominance, more touches in the box, less situations of the opponents against a really good West Ham side, but today wasn’t enough to win the game.”
Arsenal have been linked extensively with the £100million Brentford striker Ivan Toney – who is set to return from his betting ban in January. More

Newcastle could complete stunning Arsenal double-transfer as Eddie Howe ‘tracks two stars frozen out by Arteta’

NEWCASTLE are lining up a shock double transfer swoop on Arsenal, according to reports. The Magpies face a crucial January transfer window amid poor form, a depleted squad littered with injuries, Sandro Tonali banned and financial restrictions making money tight.

Sandro Tonali, Harvey Barnes and Tino Livramento all arrived for big money in the summer with Chris Wood and Allan Saint-Maximin the two significant departures.
But with the Toon already close to profit and sustainability rules limits, it is understood Eddie Howe is targeting loan deals and free agents for the second half of the season.
A versatile forward to add goals, a midfielder to cover for Tonali and a goalkeeper while Nick Pope is sidelined by his shoulder injury are among the key priorities.
And according to The Athletic, two of those holes could be plugged by Arsenal outcasts – Aaron Ramsdale and Emile Smith Rowe.

Ramsdale, 25, is warming the bench this season following David Raya’s arrival from Brentford and, despite Mikel Arteta’s promise to rotate his goalkeepers, the £30million England international is barely getting a look in.
Howe signed Ramsdale at Bournemouth and therefore the pair know each other well.
And if a loan move can be negotiated, it could suit all parties.
David De Gea has also been linked with a switch to St James’ Park.

But although a free agent, the Spaniard would demand big wages and be a direct threat to Pope as the No1 choice.
Sam Johnstone at Crystal Palace and Tottenham’s forgotten man Hugo Lloris are other targets.
Further forward, Smith Rowe could be lined up to inject some added creativity into the Newcastle team, especially with Tonali, Barnes and Jacob Murphy unavailable.
Smith Rowe, 23, has struggled for game time this season with injuries and selection – limiting him to just 116 minutes of Premier League action across six appearances.
His one assist came in his only start as the Gunners thumped Sheffield United 5-0 in October.
Chelsea and West Ham have also been linked with the three-cap Three Lions international this season.
    ‘NO ASSURANCES’
The Athletic report also names Athletic Bilbao ace Nico Williams, RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, Serhou Guirassy from Stuttgart and Boulaye Dia of Salernitana as other targets.
Toon target Kalvin Phillips looks set to join Juventus on loan while Conor Gallagher’s £40m price tag set by Chelsea is simply too much for a January deal.
Howe – who insists there will be no first-team exits from St James’ Park next month – is feeling the heat after six defeats in seven.
And asked about money available for the upcoming window, he said: “No we haven’t had those assurances.
“It’s a difficult month as we always say when January comes around, but it is a very difficult month to bring in quality players.

Mikel Arteta lifts lid on Arsenal’s January transfer plans with five stars set to miss crunch West Ham clash

MIKEL ARTETA says Arsenal are prepared to dip into the January market after admitting he has several “exposed” positions in his squad. The Gunners boss is wary that the outlook of his group of players could change in the coming weeks and wants to act quickly should an opportunity arise.

Ahead of their Premier League clash at home to West Ham tomorrow night, with a chance to regain top-spot, Arsenal have five players missing through knocks and suspension.
Midfielders Thomas Partey (thigh) and Fabio Vieira (groin) and defenders Jurrien Timber (knee) and Takehiro Tomiyasu (calf) are out injured while Kai Havertz is serving a one-match ban.
Partey and Tomiyasu could return for Arsenal’s FA Cup third-round tie against Liverpool on January 7 before heading off to the African Cup of Nations and the Asian Cup with Ghana and Japan respectively.
Mohamed Elneny is also set to depart for potentially a month with Egypt at AFCON. Vieira is expected to return by the end of January, and Timber by mid-February.

Arteta and technical director Edu have several gameplans in place to deal with gaps both in midfield and defence, but could be reliant on a big sale to fund any incomings – or focusing on the loan market – due to concerns over FFP after heavy spending last summer.
Aaron Ramsdale has been linked with move to Newcastle and Chelsea after being replaced as No.1 by David Raya, but Arteta has previously stated he wants to keep him this month.
And when asked about the January window, as Arsenal prepare for another hotly-contested title race, Arteta explained: “We are really short.
“We have positions that we have been very exposed in for the last six weeks and hopefully we are going to get players back. In what condition and when?

“That’s a question mark and as well because we have some long-term injuries still for certain players that give us a lot of versatility and that’s an issue.
“We have certain targets, ideas if things happen. As well, we don’t know how the squad is going to look in two weeks’ time and you have to be always prepared for that.
“But it is a very, very tricky market that shifts quickly and it is quite unpredictable as well. You have to be prepared. We will be prepared and we will try to make the right calls.
“If there is something that we can [do to] improve the squad and that appears, and we cannot fulfil it with players here, we are always going to be open to do that because we want to be stronger.”
Arsenal spent a combined £210m on Timber, Havertz and Declan Rice in the summer window – and will soon fork out £27m to make loanee Raya a permanent deal from Brentford.
They were top of the Prem at Christmas for the second year in a row – having narrowly missed out on lifting their first title since 2004 last year to Manchester City. More

Arsenal ‘line up Matthijs de Ligt and Dortmund star but may have to wait until summer transfer window’

ARSENAL are lining up a sensational move for Matthijs de Ligt, according to reports. The Athletic report that the Gunners are tracking the Bayern defender ahead of a move.

However, it is much more likely that it will take place in the summer rather than this January.
Mikel Arteta has been candid in his desire to bring in bodies and said simply in a recent press conference: “We need more players.”
But the club are facing FFP issues and may be limited in who they can bring in.
Their high expenditure, particularly on Declan Rice, means they will have to balance the books over the coming windows.

There’s also David Raya, who was brought in on a loan with obligation to buy because of FFP issues last summer.
Arsenal will have to pay £27million for him next summer and that will need to be accounted for in the budget.
The Athletic report that strengthening the defence remains the priority for the Gunners in January but the changing nature of the window means that other areas could come into focus.
Midfield could be an area Arsenal choose to reinforce with Thomas Partey due to go off to AFCON.

Aside from de Ligt, Arsenal may also target Borussia Dortmund’s Nico Schlotterbeck.
But the price-point and contract situations of both players mean they are deals that may have to wait for the summer.
Arsenal are also interested in 17-year-old Ajax centre-back Jorrel Hato who has captained his team on occasion this season and also made an appearance for the Dutch national side.
Hato would not come cheap, however, meaning signing a defender on a short-term loan is the most likely option.
Arsenal also remain long-term admirers of Douglas Luiz but Villa’s league form makes selling to Arsenal in January an unlikely prospect. More

Arsenal, Man Utd and Chelsea dealt transfer blow as PSG ‘agree deal to sign 18-year-old wonderkid target’

FOUR Premier League giants have been dealt a blow in their attempts to sign Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Moscardo. Both Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with the Corinthians midfielder for months.

Liverpool, Manchester United and Barcelona were also credited with having an interest in the midfielder who looked set to be one of the hottest properties in Janaury.
But transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has dealt a blow to all those clubs that were linked with the midfielder.
Romano has said that PSG have agreed a £17million deal to sign the 18-year-old.
The deal will also see Corinthians receive £1.7million in add-ons, with the youngster set to fly to Paris imminently to complete the transfer.

Moscardo claimed in an interview last month that Chelsea had approached him in the summer.
According to The Daily Mail, he said: “There was a proposal from Chelsea months ago, but I talk a lot with my agent and my parents and they try to give me information.
“They say there is not long until the end of the season, they tell me to dedicate myself and do well, and that at the end of the season, there will be good things.”
Moscardo’s performances for Corinthians have seen him called up to Brazil’s U23 side despite his young age.

He is currently enjoying a month break after the conclusion of the Brazilian Serie A, in which Corinthians came 13th.
Corinthians president Augusto Melo confirmed in a recent interview that Moscardo decided to join PSG.
Speaking to Radio Bandeirantes as per Foot Mercato, Melo said: “Unfortunately, the cycle has come to an end, his mind is elsewhere, we gave him the freedom to choose, may he be happy. He’s heading to Paris.” More

I had to play second fiddle for years at Arsenal… if Aaron Ramsdale doesn’t get his place back soon, he should quit

AARON RAMSDALE has been told to weigh up his January options by an ex-Arsenal keeper who grew tired of playing second fiddle.Vito Mannone was Emirates understudy to Wojciech Szczesny before he jumped ship for Sunderland in 2013.

And the Italian urged Ramsdale to think very carefully if David Raya keeps getting the nod.
Lille keeper Mannone, now 35, said: “It’s not easy but in Ramsdale’s place I’d have taken it badly.
“My advice to him is to keep working.
“I waited eight years before I became a Premier League regular, Emi Martinez had to wait ten years before stealing the show.

“He also had many loans and paid his dues. But those who work and bide their time eventually end up making it.
“But if Ramsdale’s moment won’t come again, he should look for it elsewhere! There’s not much else he can do.

“I lost my place after a great year. It was tough to accept.”
Raya arrived on loan from Brentford in August despite Ramsdale being superb last term.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta favours Raya for his ability with the ball at his feet and Ramsdale has made just one Premier League appearance since his rival got the nod in early September — and that was only because Raya could not play against his parent club.
Mannone added: “The top sides want two great goalies who are ready to play at any moment.
“I was No 1 and back-up, and I can tell you that when you’re first choice you need the board and the second keeper’s backing.
“When you have two potential first-choice keepers it doesn’t make it any easier for the manager.
“If Arteta is proud, he sticks with Raya but if he’s clever he picks the best and more in-form keeper.”
Arsenal are in the battle for the title but Mannone would not put his money on the league leaders going the distance just yet — because they topped the pile in 2003, 2008, 2014 and 2023 before they collapsed.
And Mannone, who spent eight years on the club’s books until 2013, said: “Arsenal are always top of the table at Christmas before bottling it. And I’ve been through it myself many times. There’s always difficulties in seeing the job home.”
Mannone shared a dressing room with Arteta at the Emirates.
He added: “Even as a captain, Mikel always had this verve and leadership and he’s a great manager.  I hope he reaps the rewards of the job he’s done. Let’s hope it’s the right time.”

Mikel Arteta makes transfer decision on Eddie Nketiah as interest in Arsenal striker hots up

Mikel Arteta’s side remain top of the table after securing a hard earned point at Anfield on Saturday night.
And Nketiah was called upon for the 17th time in the league this season to help see out the 1-1 draw.
No other Arsenal player has bagged more times in the Prem this season than the 24-year-old with five goals so far this term.
Nketiah has also registered a further three assists and offers an impressive work rate when asked to press by Arteta.

The Spanish boss will be hoping his team break their long running curse of failing to win the league when topping it on Christmas Day.
And Nketiah is believed to be a crucial part of the squad to help them continue to push for a first league title in 20 years.
On top of that he offers an option to rotate as the Gunners hope to progress further into the Champions League this season.
But his goal scoring exploits haven’t gone unnoticed by other top sides with interest in a potential transfer increasing among other Premier League clubs.

Reports have linked both Brentford and Crystal Palace to the Arsenal striker with other clubs said to be interested too.
Note of his ability was taken by Gareth Southgate in recent months as well with Nketiah called up to the England squad twice and making his senior Three Lions debut against Australia in October.
Arteta has made his feelings about Nketiah clear and gushed over the academy graduate’s ability following his hat-trick against Sheffield United earlier in the season.
He said: “He’s got an eye for goal. You look at his stats from the last 10 years. What he’s done is remarkable.
“He needs minutes, opportunities and service. If he gets that, Eddie is going to score goals, that’s for sure.
“He’s a great player for Arsenal. He can be better, yes. And the best thing is the talent that he’s got, but especially his mentality is incredible.
