ARSENAL have reportedly rebuffed an offer from Roma for striker Alexandre Lacazette.
The Gunners are still hoping to make some additions to their squad before the transfer window slams shut.

Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar and Atletico star Thomas Partey are believed to be the top targets.
But the Londoners might have to sell to raise funds first.
The Athletic reports that Serie A giants Roma are interested in forward Lacazette.
But the money put forward by the Italians ‘fell comfortably below what Arsenal would expect’ and a move ‘is unlikely to go any further’.
Lacazette has not had any contract talks with Arsenal amid fears he could leave.
Gunners fans had hoped the £52million striker would sign an extended deal, but boss Mikel Arteta has revealed there have been no discussions about a new contract.
The 29-year-old former Lyon striker’s five-year deal will run out in June 2022 – just over 20 months’ time.
And earlier this month he laughed off transfer speculation and insisted he wanted to stay at the club.

Gunners boss Arteta said: “At the moment we haven’t started any negotiations. We have a lot of things still to do in this market.
“He is a player I am really happy with. I think we showed him a lot of faith since I arrived here. But we cannot stop any speculation.
“We know that any player that is under two years contract is always going to be talked about.”

Arsenal star Shkodran Mustafi in talks over Lazio transfer with defender not in Mikel Arteta’s plans this season

LAZIO are reportedly in deep negotiations with Shkodran Mustafi over a deal to bring the Arsenal defender to Italy.
The 28-year-old is not in the plans of Mikel Arteta, who has preferred options Gabriel Magalhaes, David Luiz, Rob Holding and William Saliba to count on.

And with Mustafi having just one year left to run on his deal at the Emirates, the North Londoners are keen to cash in on him.
SunSport reported last week how the World Cup winner was attracting interest from both Lazio and Roma.
And it looks as though Simone Inzaghi’s side have won the race to bring the ex-Valencia star to the Stadio Olimpico.
According to Lazio Press, Mustafi’s agent and father have held talks with the Eagles.
It has been said that final details of the move are all that is needed for the centre-back to link up with Lazio.
Arsenal are prepared to allow Mustafi to depart if they receive a bid in the region of £13million.
Mustafi hasn’t played for the Gunners since their FA Cup semi-final win against Manchester City last season.
A hamstring injury has kept him out of action, with the defender expected to return to full training in October.
Arsenal know they have to offload a number of players in their squad if they want to bring in their own targets.
Arteta remains keen on signing Lyon playmaker Houssem Aouar and Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.
It has been suggested that the club are hopeful of securing the services of at least one of those players, with Aouar the more likely deal to happen.

The Gunners captain and his team-mates are looking to continue their impressive start to the campaign against Premier League champions Liverpool tonight.

However, before the trip to Anfield, the 31-year-old has revealed his desire to see the midfielder arrive in North London and join their ranks.
Arsenal are desperate to secure a deal for the “very good” Frenchman, 22.
The transfer window closes on October 5 and they are set to make an improved £34million bid for Aouar this week.
But that is still way short of Lyon president Jean-Michel Auslas’ asking price.
The Ligue 1 side want £45m for their prized-asset and are so far refusing to budge on that valuation.
Aubameyang, who recently committed his future to the North London club, is eager for his employers to cough up the funds and ensure Aouar ends up with them for the rest of the campaign.
As reported by The Mirror, the Gabonese striker said: “He’s a very good player.
“I hope we will be lucky to have these types of players at the club, I’m sure he can bring a lot to us.
“I hope he will come even though he is at Lyon.”
Despite having a £32m offer rejected already, Arsenal will not give up their pursuit easily.
Aouar made his 100th top-flight appearance for Lyon yesterday during the 1-1 draw with Lorient.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is looking to strengthen his midfield and has also been linked with Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey, who was named on the bench for the Spanish side’s 6-1 win over Granada last night.

LYON president Jean-Michel Aulas doubts Arsenal can afford midfielder Houssem Aouar’s price tag.
The Lyon star was reportedly the subject of a £32million offer from the Gunners on Thursday, but last season’s Champions League semi-finalists want closer to £54m for the France under-21 international.

Aulas, who is known to drive a hard bargain, believes Arsenal will be unable to meet his asking price for Aouar due to the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
Aulas told French outlet Le Progres: “Financially, Arsenal are like everyone else.
“And Houssem could say to himself that the best thing would be to stay with us.
“From the start I said that we would not lose the three players announced every day in the newspapers [Aouar, Moussa Dembele and Memphis Depay].”
Negotiations between Arsenal and Lyon are understood to be ongoing.
Personal terms with Aouar are not thought to be an issue, with a five-year deal in place for the 22-year-old who is keen on a move to the Emirates.
Earlier this month, Lyon sporting director Juninho revealed the club rejected an exchange proposal for Aouar which would have seen Arsenal send Matteo Guendouzi in the other direction.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has made signing a midfielder his No1 priority for the remainder of the transfer window, with Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey also under consideration.
Arsenal have been busy trying to offload fringe players to raise funds for Aouar.
Lucas Torreira, Sokratis and Shkodran Mustafi are among the names the north London outfit are hopeful of selling.
The Gunners also raised £20million through the sale of second-choice keeper Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa.

ARSENAL should make a shock move to prise Dele Alli away from rivals Tottenham, club legend Ray Parlour has suggested.
The ex-Gunner believes his former employers would have to fork out £50million to sign the England international, who has been linked with a move away.

Amid a reported fallout with Jose Mourinho, the Special One urged the 24-year-old to ‘perform’ in the club’s Europa League third round qualifying tie against KF Shkendija on Thursday.
But he was removed after an hour after failing to impress in the win over the North Macedonian outfit while the score was at 1-1,
Parlour reckons Arsenal should consider a move for Alli as he would bring goals from midfield.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Parlour said: “I think he would be more of a fit than Jorginho.
“I’ve always said they’re (Arsenal) lacking goals from midfield. I don’t think Spurs would sell Dele Alli to Arsenal.
“I think there would be uproar by the Spurs fans if that happens, but he would certainly be a good fit for Arsenal.
“I’m trying to put a figure in my head to say how much he would be worth, I would say £50m.
“I certainly believe that he’s got a lot of good years left in him as a player, so £50m has got to be the marker.
“One thing about Arsenal is I think they’re lacking goals from central midfield areas, so I think he could tick that box especially.

“He does score goals, he can get you ten goals from midfield if he plays on a regular basis, whether he can get more under (Mikel) Arteta I don’t know.”
Commenting on how Arsenal fans would feel about the club signing Alli, Parlour added: “I think they would be pretty happy because you’re getting a quality player off your rivals.
“If he started playing week in, week out, started putting the performances like we saw when he joined Spurs, then I’m sure they’d be delighted.”

But in a blow for the Gunners, he stated the £54million-rated playmaker could remain with the Ligue 1 outfit due to the North Londoners struggling to afford him.

Aulas, 71, stressed last week that Mikel Arteta’s side didn’t have the funds to sign the 22-year-old, and he has again echoed similar thoughts.
Speaking to Le Progres via GFFN about Arsenal’s pursuit of Aouar, he said: “Financially, Arsenal are like everyone else (in a tricky spot).
“And Houssem could say to himself that the best thing would be to stay with us.”
Arsenal are desperately trying to raise cash in order to bring Aouar to the Emirates.
They have managed to flog Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa for £20million.
But the FA Cup holders still want to offload Lucas Torreira, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Sead Kolasinac to fund a move for the Frenchman.
SunSport reported earlier this week how Arsenal are doing everything they can to secure Aouar’s services, with a new bid expected shortly.
Earlier this month, Lyon sporting director Juninho revealed the club rejected a proposal that would have seen Aouar swap with Matteo Guendouzi.
He told Top of the Foot: “I get on very well with Edu, we spoke on the phone.
“Aouar is really appreciated by Mikel Arteta.
“Guendouzi was discussed during the call, he is a great player, but he is the wrong profile.
“We are not interested in that at all, we cut the conversation.”
