According to Bild, Arsenal have been keeping a close eye on both players.
    Konate, 21, is a French centre-back with a release clause of £45million.
That would make him a cheaper alternative than team-mate and compatriot Dayot Upamecano.

Upamecano was a target for Arsenal, Manchester United and Real Madrid in the summer before signing a new deal at the Bundesliga club.
Konate missed the beginning of the season but is now in the side on the right of a Leipzig back three with Upamecano and Willi Orban.
The report adds that plenty of English clubs are tracking Konate – but the lure of joining the likes of William Saliba as another young French defender at the Emirates may appeal.
Arsenal also face competition in their pursuit of Nkunku.

The France Under-21 international fits the mould of an exciting midfielder Arteta is looking for – just like Houssem Aouar or Dominik Szoboszlai.

Bild add that former Paris Saint-Germain man Nkunku, 22, would cost around around £36m as Lyon also consider making a bid.
Should Lyon land Nkunku, however, that may see the French outfit to allow Aouar to leave for North London.

Arsenal and Chelsea in battle to land Jerome Boateng on free transfer as Bayern ‘refuse to offer him new deal’

According to Sport Bild in Germany, Bayern Munich will refuse to offer Boateng a new deal.
The former Manchester City man, 32, is out of contract at the end of the season.
That means he can enter negotiations with European clubs over a pre-contract agreement to move in the summer.

Boateng came through at Hertha Berlin before three years at Hamburg and then joined Manchester City.
After a season at the Etihad, he returned to his homeland by signing for Bayern in 2011.
The centre-back has 333 appearances, eight Bundesligas, two Champions Leagues and a Club World Cup for the Bavarians.
Boateng and Niklas Sule have battled it out to partner David Alaba – also in the final year of his deal – at the heart of Hans-Dieter Flick’s side so far this term.

But Premier League sides may look to bring the experienced defender back to England next summer despite strong starts defensively to the season.

Caballero and Cech are the oldest players in the Premier League

Chelsea and Arsenal have conceded ten while Spurs have shipped a league-best nine along with Manchester City, Wolves, Aston Villa and leaders Leicester.
Sokratis, David Luiz and Shkodran Mustafi all have their contracts expiring next summer.
So even though Mikel Arteta will have the likes of Gabriel, William Saliba and Pablo Mari at his disposal, the Arsenal boss could benefit from the addition of Boateng.
Chelsea landed veteran Thiago Silva for nothing this summer and are already reaping the benefits with his commanding performances at the back.
Frank Lampard may be tempted by a similar signing if Silva continues to be a success.
At Tottenham, Jose Mourinho saw one experienced defender leave in Jan Vertonghen.
Joe Rodon did come in from Swansea but so far the Special One has generally opted for Eric Dier, Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld at the back.

He is able to talk to foreign clubs from January and can even sign a pre-contract agreement for a free transfer.
The German defender, 28, has featured just twice for Arsenal in the Premier League this term.
And the arrival of Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille, with William Saliba also waiting in the wings, means Mustafi’s prospects have been even further reduced.

And his father Kutjim has now admitted Mustafi is open to all offers come January.
He told Sport 1: “Nothing is ruled out.
“We can imagine everything because Shkodran is a free transfer in the summer.”
Meanwhile, Mustafi has confirmed Arsenal are yet to initiate any kind of talk over extending his current deal.

The centre-back revealed: “When I made a decision to sign for Arsenal it is because I respect this club.

“It’s a huge club, that’s why for me if I could stay at Arsenal, of course it would mean a lot to me.
“When you hopefully get a few games, you can maybe look at the future but at the moment it has been difficult because in the last months I haven’t really been thinking about the end of my contract or what’s going on with the future because all I wanted was to be back as quick as possible.
“We haven’t been talking about anything so there isn’t anything I can tell you guys.
“Now it is important for me to just get a few games and get into the match rhythm and then see how it goes.”

Arsenal blew chance of Jude Bellingham transfer as sporting director Edu didn’t have a clue who he was, says Tony Adams

TONY ADAMS claims Arsenal blew the chance to sign Jude Bellingham because sporting director Edu didn’t have a clue who he was.
Gunners legend Adams claims the North London club had done a deal to take the teenager from Birmingham before the likes of Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund entered the scene.

But he says the ousting of recruitment chief Sven Mislintat, as part of the power shift at the Emirates to bring in former player Edu, cost them one of Europe’s brightest young talents.
Bellingham has today been called up to the England senior squad as another sign how much potential the 17-year-old Dortmund midfielder has.
Adams said: “I think it got lost, this one, in the transition of the chief scout at Arsenal going out.

“He was spotted very early on, not by me, by the Arsenal recruitment office.
“The chief scout was absolutely bowled over by him and the great prospect that he is.
“He had more or less done the deal, but at that moment the new sporting director Edu came in from Brazil and had no European experience and no UK experience.
“I think it got lost in the transition, Edu didn’t know nothing about this player.”

Speaking on Sky Sports’ The Football Show, Adams added: “Unfortunately the chief scout had the deal kind of done – we missed that one unfortunately.

“They are the type of players we need to get hold of at the Arsenal if we’re ever going to develop and go forward.
“These kind of players we need to tie up, get them to the Arsenal and build a phenomenal league team.
“He’s a great talent but unfortunately he’s not joined the right club.”

Ian Wright reveals Arsenal still in for Aouar transfer as he relishes thought of Lyon ace linking up with Thomas Partey

IAN WRIGHT has admitted that Houssem Aouar’s potential midfield partnership with Thomas Partey could take Arsenal to the next level.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta had been eager to sign the 22-year-old Lyon star throughout the summer.

Yet the North Londoners struggled to agree a fee for the talented Frenchman and opted instead to land Partey from Atletico Madrid.
It was also suggested that Aouar himself wanted to stay at Lyon in fear that he would struggle to hit the ground running at Arsenal and put his Euro 2021 hopes in doubt.
Partey meanwhile put in a man of the match performance for the Gunners as they beat Manchester United 1-0 on Sunday.

And amid rumours Arsenal could revive a move for Aouar in January, club legend Wright believes the attacker could be the final piece in the jigsaw.
He told Premier League Productions: “It is [important] because it’s something that’s continually labelled towards Arsenal, that they can’t beat the big-six teams.
“I think that was something that was a little while back now, not since [Arteta’s] been there.
“I think the mentality has changed, the culture in what he’s doing has changed, the intensity and the way he wants to play.

“It’s all changed, it’s a new Arsenal in what they’re trying to do going forward.

If he can continue to improve and then he’s then able to add to that with Aouar, who they’re trying to get in the midfield alongside Partey, then you’ve got someone who can create for the forwards.
    Ian Wright on Mikel Arteta

“If he can continue to improve, like players improve with his coaching, and then he’s then able to add to that with Aouar, who they’re trying to get in the midfield alongside Partey, then you’ve got someone who can create for the forwards.
“So it’s all looking good and winning games like this will only stand you in good stead and give confidence to the team.”
Arsenal have been without a chief creative force in midfield since top earner Mesut Ozil was axed from the squad.
Aouar has already scored twice and assisted another for Lyon this season – but they are seven points adrift of Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

And Wright recently expressed his hope that Arsenal can still get their man after being denied in the summer.
Speaking to about Partey’s arrival, he added: “They still need more, he’s not the main one and that’s why Arsenal went for Houssem Aouar as well.
“I’m hoping they can still get him at some stage but Partey is a massive improvement on what Arsenal have got.”

Matteo Guendouzi hints Arsenal career is over and claims ‘I grew up there’ after Mesut Ozil’s Bundesliga transfer advice

MATTEO GUENDOUZI has described his Arsenal stay as ‘two good years’ in a possible hint his Gunners career is over.
Mikel Arteta fell out with the midfielder last season and exiled him from the team, before sending him on loan to Hertha Berlin.

And it was fellow outcast Mesut Ozil who talked up the prospect of a stint in Germany to Guendouzi.
The 21-year-old told Kicker: “I played over 80 games [at Arsenal] and had a good, intense time there.
“I learned a lot there in terms of the sport and I grew up there. It was two good years for me.

“I also had a very good relationship with Mesut Ozil and Bernd Leno, both of whom told me a lot of good things about the Bundesliga.”
Guendouzi was a regular under Arteta until he lost his cool in a June defeat to Brighton.
The Frenchman’s tirade at Neal Maupay, who had inadvertently injured Arsenal keeper Leno, set in motion a large-scale disagreement between player and manager.
The row has been acknowledged by Guendouzi, who accepts that it led to his exit from the Emirates.

He noted: “I played less after that, that’s true.
“But now I can continue playing here, so I feel privileged. I look ahead and focus on what lies ahead.”

After testing positive for coronavirus, the midfielder is still yet to make his debut for Hertha.
The Bundesliga side sit 15th in the table ahead of Sunday’s meeting with Wolfsburg, which could mark Guendouzi’s debut.
He continued: “I want to win as many games as possible, work with the whole team and, above all, develop myself further.
“There are still many levels at which I want to improve. I am very motivated and now want to help bring in positive results.”
