According to the Guardian, there is a three-way battle for his signature.
It is believed more than 15 clubs have offered him a deal.
German side RB Leipzig, who reached last season’s Champions League semi-final, are believed to be one of those interested.
Julian Nagelsmann’s side sit second in the Bundesliga, two points behind champions Bayern Munich.

They will face Liverpool in the last 16 of the Champions League.
The Gunners were reported to have restarted contract negotiations with the teenager in November, but talks have stalled.
They are understood to remain hopeful the highly-rated striker will sign a new contract.
Balogun is yet to make his Premier League debut but has played four times in the Europa League, scoring twice.

It is claimed Balogun is one of 11 players that have been made ‘dispensable’ by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, although he does want him to stay.
Arteta said: “The club wants to make a deal, the manager wants to make a deal, the player wants to stay and I’m not sure about the agent.”
Balogun is represented by the same agency as his team-mate Eddie Nketiah.
He is not the only academy product at risk of leaving the club, with winger Kido Taylor-Hart also yet to sign a professional deal amid interest from overseas.

Mesut Ozil transfer talks ‘slowly’ progressing claims Fenerbahce sporting director as Arsenal look to cut ties

ARSENAL outcast Mesut Ozil could soon be departing the Emirates after Fenerbahce sporting director Emre Belozoglu revealed he is ‘closer than ever’ to joining.
His comments come after the Turkish side’s president, Ali Koc, talked up the possibility of bringing the World Cup winner to the club.

He too admitted that the Super Lig giants are in contact with the 32-year-old – who is in the final six months of his contract in North London.
And SunSport have exclusively revealed that the ex-Real Madrid ace would be prepared to leave the Gunners this month.
But the former Schalke playmaker – who has spoken of his love for Fenerbahce – would want Arsenal to spread out the remaining of his £350,000-a-week across three years.
Commenting on the player, Emre – who enjoyed a three-year stay at Newcastle – told reporters that while negotiations are slow, he is confident a deal can be reached.

Quoted by Sky Sports, he said: “Mesut Ozil has been one of the most special players in the world for his position in the last 20 years.
“If this transfer takes place, it will be a first. I regard it as a very positive move for both our community and our president, but I don’t think it will be easy.
“We have our own plans. And Mesut has a contract with his club. He is a superstar.
“We are talking about a player who contributes to goals in every other game, regardless of which team he plays for.

“I will be extremely pleased if Fenerbahce can have such a player, especially while we are on duty.
“We had a meeting with him and his agent. It’s happening slowly, but Mesut is closer than ever to Fenerbahce.
“The fact that Mesut’s childhood dream is still alive and Fenerbahce has such a dream has made this step so close for the first time.
“After Mesut is done with the negotiations with his club, we will have our own negotiations among ourselves.
“If Mesut can make a deal with his club on the terms we expect, it won’t be a burden for us financially considering our limits this year.”

Therefore he will be able to leave on a free transfer come June as things stand.
And according to Football Insider, an Arsenal source has confirmed a pre-contract deal was in place.
Balogun is yet to put pen to paper on the offer from the German giants but could become the latest English youngster to swap the Premier League for the Bundesliga.
Julian Nagelsmann’s side sit second in the table and take on Liverpool in the Champions League last 16 after progressing at the expense of Manchester United.

He has impressed when given his chance by Arteta this season – in his five senior Arsenal appearances, he has two goals, both coming in Europa League wins.
Reports suggested as many as 15 clubs were hoping to sign Balogun and had put offers on the table – with Swansea and Liverpool among those thought to be interested.
With his contract situation up in the air, it has been claimed that Balogun is one of 11 players that have been made ‘dispensable’ by Arteta.
Speaking about his England Under-20 international striker’s future, Arteta recently said extension negotiations were underway but questioned the agent handling things from the player’s side.

The Spaniard said: “His progression and the use of the time he’s had with us, has been incredibly good, and he will keep having chances when he is with us.
“Well, you need three parties to make a deal. For sure the club wants to make a deal, the manager wants to make a deal, the player wants to stay and I’m not sure about the agent.
“I’m not saying he’s stopping it but we need to find an agreement with him.
“We are negotiating in the end with an agent, and a player who wants to stay at the club.
“I’m telling you we are doing everything we can to keep him here.
“And hopefully from the other side they are doing the same and they are defending the same interests – which is the player’s interests, which is to stay at the football club and successful with us.”

Arsenal line up Manor Solomon transfer bid after 21-year-old Israeli winger’s impressive form for Shakhtar Donetsk

ARSENAL are reportedly lining up a bid for Shakhtar Donetsk’s Israeli winger Manor Solomon.
The 21-year-old’s reputation has rocketed after some stunning displays for the Ukrainian side and the Gunners are considering a summer offer, according to The Guardian.

The report states Arsenal have held initial talks with the player’s entourage after scouting him heavily for over a year.
And the North Londoners could formalise their interest in the wideman in pre-season this summer.
The versatile forward can play across the front line but seemingly will stay put in January with Arsenal not likely to have the funds available for a move until the end of the season.
A barnstorming last 15 months has brought the player to the attention of a number of European giants since he joined Shakhtar from Maccabi Petah Tikva for £5million in 2019.

Solomon has starred in the Champions League, netting against Manchester City in November 2019.
And he bagged a goal in both of Shakhtar’s upset wins over Real Madrid in this season’s competition.
Scotland fans will remember him for his sublime winner for Israel in the Nations League in November.
Solomon has scored five goals in 17 games in all competitions this term.

The Gunners are not believed to be in a position to fork out for players this month, unless there are several unexpected departures from the Emirates.
Solomon is contracted in Donetsk until 2023 and it will take a sizeable lump sum to tear him away early.
Mikel Arteta is still keen to revitalise his squad at the end of the year.
Despite Arsenal’s resurgence of late, the Spanish boss is still wary that his players have struggled for the majority of the campaign and will look to strengthen where needed.

Arsenal and Spurs boost in transfer hunt for Leipzig star Marcel Sabitzer after playmaker ‘rejects new contract offer’

MARCEL SABITZER has reportedly turned down RB Leipzig’s latest contract offer – alerting Tottenham and Arsenal.
The North London rivals have both been linked with the Austrian midfielder following his stellar form in the Bundesliga.

Jose Mourinho in particular is a fan of Sabitzer’s, following his two-goal demolition of Spurs in last season’s Champions League.
And Arsenal are thought to be chasing a creative midfielder in the January transfer window.
A fee of around £30million has been touted with the Leipzig captain’s contract expiring in 18 months’ time.
But the German club may be tempted to cash in soon if Sabitzer refuses to agree a new contract.

According to Sky Germany, via Fussball Transfers, the 26-year-old has turned down an extension.
It is said that Sabitzer would prefer leaving in the summer of 2022, when his deal expires, with the club considering a sale at the end of this season.

Leipzig sporting director Markus Krösche told Bild recently that talks are more likely to progress in a couple of months’ time.
He said: “We wanted to end the year first. Both sides will deal with the issue more intensively in the spring.”

Likewise, Sabitzer has previously insisted that his contract situation will not be discussed until later in the year.
The player stated last month: “If I read my contract correctly, it expires in June 2022, which means it runs for another 18 months.

The club have said that there would be no contract talks during the season.
    Marcel SabitzerDecember 2020

“We’ll have to see about everything else. I’m just doing my job. We have a game every three days, that’s exhausting enough.
“The club have said that there would be no contract talks during the season.
“So I’m fully focused on playing a successful season and don’t think about what will happen later on at all.”
