Arsenal eye transfer for Crystal Palace starlet Tyrick Mitchell with 21-year-old out-of-contract in summer

ARSENAL are reportedly lining up a move for Crystal Palace youngster Tyrick Mitchell.

And they are one of a number of clubs courting 21-year-old Mitchell, according to The Evening Standard.
Mitchell has taken his chance to shine at Selhurst Park after breaking into Roy Hodgson’s first team.
It has been widely reported that the youngster is out of contract in the summer and could be snapped up on the cheap.
But the report states his deal is believed to run for longer – making the chances of snaffling a bargain much slimmer.

Mitchell has started ten Premier League games this term – playing the full 90 minutes on every occasion.
And his performances are understood to have caught the eye of a number of Prem clubs who are believed to be scouting him.
Mikel Arteta is hoping to ease the workload on Scot Tierney after the former Celtic man was pulled out of the game against Palace with muscle tightness earlier this month.
England star Bukayo Saka can also deputise at left-back but prefers to be deployed further forward.

Fellow Three Lions ace Ainsley Maitland-Niles has also filled in at wing-back but his long-term future remains uncertain after failing to make a number of matchday squads.
After Sead Kolasinac was allowed to leave to join German strugglers Schalke on loan, Arsenal have been left short.
The Gunners are keeping tabs on Southampton’s 31-year-old left-back Ryan Bertrand – who is out of contract in the summer – and could land a bargain this month or wait to poach him on a free at the end fo the season.

Watch Arsenal transfer target Yves Bissouma score 30-yard screamer as Brighton beat Blackpool 2-1 in FA Cup fourth round

ARSENAL target Yves Bissouma showed the Gunners exactly what he can do with a 30-yard FA Cup screamer for Brighton.
The 24-year-old midfielder rifled home an unstoppable shot into the top corner past Blackpool keeper Chris Maxwell to give the Seagulls the lead after 24 minutes.

Bissouma gave Mikel Arteta a timely reminder of his undoubted ability after holders Arsenal crashed out at Southampton.
The Mali international is a self-confessed massive Gooner and has been linked with a dream move to the Emirates.
A source close to the star revealed he would choose the Gunners over ANY other Premier League side that came calling for his services.
Bissouma joined Brighton from Lille in 2018 for a £15.2million fee.

He is said to still speak regularly to former Lille team-mates and Arsenal stars Nicolas Pepe and Gabriel – who scored the own goal at St Mary’s which KO’d Arteta’s defence of the trophy.
And the friendships could help facilitate a move to North London.
Arteta is determined to land a creative midfielder this month with Martin Odegaard ‘one step away’ from arriving from Real Madrid and Norwich’s Emi Buendia also heavily linked.
But a move for Bissouma looks more likely to happen at the end of the season with Dani Ceballos set to return to the Bernabeu and Granit Xhaka’s future uncertain.

Bissouma’s worldie wasn’t enough to give Graham Potter’s side a half-time lead against The Tangerines.
Gary Madine’s stoppage-time effort sent the sides in level at 1-1.
But The Seagulls soon regained the lead 13 minutes after the break when Alexis Mac Allister’s long-range shot deflected off Steven Alzate’s back to wrongfoot Maxwell.
And Brighton held on to secure their spot in the fifth round where they will face either Brentford or Leicester.

Arsenal in Emi Buendia transfer blow as Norwich boss Daniel Farke claims there’s ’99 per cent’ chance he stays in Jan

NORWICH manager Daniel Farke said there is a ’99 per cent’ chance Emi Buendia stays in January coming as a transfer blow to Arsenal.
The Gunners have an attacking midfielder in mind as they enter the winter window.

But their interest in Buendia could be over after his boss appeared to confirm they will keep hold of the versatile Argentine.
Farke said: “No, nothing will happen.
“In this business you can never say 100 per cent guarantee, but I would label it 99 per cent.

“It makes no sense for any of my key players to leave at this moment. And it makes no sense for us as a club right now to sell any of my players.
“These players have the potential to play for one of the best clubs in this country, and Arsenal [are] definitely one of the best in this country and also Europe.
“They have the potential to play there one day, but it makes no sense in January. Let’s be honest we are in a great position.”
Buendia, who can also play out wide, has scored seven goals and chipped in with six assists so far this campaign.

It has helped guide the Canaries to the top of the Championship this season.

Buendia moved to Norwich from Spanish side Getafe in 2018 and signed a four-year deal.
He lives in England with his wife Claudia and their son Thiago.
The playmaker has been linked with the Gunners throughout the season, with interest strengthening after Mesut Ozil’s departure.
German Ozil signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Turkish giants Fenerbahce, ending his spell frozen out at the Emirates.

Arsenal told to fork out £50m transfer fee to land Emiliano Buendia from Norwich as Mesut Ozil replacement

ARSENAL could be forced to fork out a ‘crazy’ £50m if they want Norwich creative genius Emiliano Buendia.

He has scored seven goals and chipped in with six assists so far this campaign.
And Buendia’s form has peaked interest from the Gunners – who are in the market for an attacking midfielder after Mesut Ozil’s departure.
But Arsenal would be forced to pay a massive fee if they want him this month, according to Sky Sports.
Speaking on Sky Sports News’ The Transfer Show, reporter Kaveh Solhekol said Buendia is only focussed on Norwich.

He said: “Arsenal may look at signing an attacking midfielder this month now that Mesut Ozil has gone.
“One player they’ve been watching very closely is Emi Buendia at Norwich City.
“I’ve been in touch with some people close to the player today, and they’re telling me that the situation is that the player himself is totally focussed on his job at Norwich.
“Norwich are doing very well in the Championship- they’re top of the table and can see the Premier League on the horizon.

“The problem Arsenal would have in trying to sign him this month is how much he would cost because Norwich are a very well-run club.
“They’ve got a sustainable business model and I’ve been told it would take a crazy business offer for them to be tempted to sell him this month.
“We’re looking at somewhere between £40m and £50m. I don’t think Arsenal are spending that this month.”
Buendia moved to Norwich from Spanish side Getafe in 2018 and signed a four-year deal.

He lives in England with his wife Claudia and their son Thiago.
Claudia has kept her Instagram followers up to date during lockdown with pictures of the family’s Christmas celebrations.
She also posted pictures with her son on Monday of what looked like a trip to a local park.

Mustafi says Ozil is ‘most unselfish player on and off pitch’ and Arsenal team-mates let him down before transfer exit

SHKODRAN MUSTAFI labelled Arsenal team-mate Mesut Ozil the ‘most unselfish player on and off the pitch’ ahead of his move to Fenerbahce.
Mustafi took a thinly veiled swipe at the club by suggesting Gunners players had let pal Ozil down ‘when he needed us most’.

Bro, you have been the most unselfish player on and off the pitch, I have ever shared the dressing room with. You will be always remembered as the #AssistKing. Unfortunately we as a team haven’t been able to assist you when you needed us the most. All the best ❤️ #SM20 pic.twitter.com/gEfl6AWzZj

Ozil’s German compatriot, 28, who is also staring at the Emirates exit door, shared a farewell message on Twitter, alongside an image of the pair.
The centre-back wrote: “Bro, you have been the most unselfish player on and off the pitch, I have ever shared the dressing room with.
“You will be always remembered as the #AssistKing.
“Unfortunately we as a team haven’t been able to assist you when you needed us the most. All the best.”

Ozil arrived in Turkey on Sunday to finalise his transfer to Fenerbahce after he negotiated a deal with the Gunners to terminate his contract six months early and become a free agent.
SunSport revealed the midfielder brokered an exit after agreeing to waive a chunk of the £7million of wages remaining on his contract that was due to expire in the summer.
The World Cup winner has pledged to do his best in his boyhood club’s jersey and hinted he will don the No67 in Istanbul.
Ozil is expected to wear the shirt until the end of the season, when he will switch to his favoured No10 jersey.

The No10 shirt at Fenerbahce is currently worn by on-loan Aston Villa striker Mbwana Samatta.
Celebrity Gooner Piers Morgan blasted Ozil – who hasn’t played since March 2020 – a ‘lazy, maipulative wastrel’.
The Good Morning Britain presenter tweeted: “Loved @MesutOzil1088 when he first came to Arsenal.
“World-class player with a sublime natural talent.
“Now I can’t wait to see the back of the lazy manipulative £350,000-a-week wastrel.
“You could have been a club legend, Mesut – but you just couldn’t be bothered. Bye.”

Ozil will leave Arsenal after making 254 Arsenal appearances, scoring 44 goals and registering 77 assists.
He was axed by boss Mikel Arteta from both the 25-man Premier and Europa League squads this season.
The two played together at Arsenal and both started the 2014 FA Cup final win over Hull City – with Ozil the last of that victorious squad to leave the North Londoners.

Mesut Ozil provides major hint what his new Fenerbahce shirt number will be ahead of Arsenal transfer exit

MESUT OZIL has hinted to fans which shirt number he will wear at new club Fenerbahce.
The German playmaker is set to complete a transfer to the Turkish giants in the coming days, after agreeing to terminate his Arsenal contract six months early.

And Ozil tweeted the number 67 alongside a heart emoji on Sunday as he prepares to move to the club he supported as a boy.
Ozil’s family hails from the Turkish province of Zonguldak, which has a postal code starting with 67.
Ozil is expected to wear the number until the end of the season, when he will switch to his favoured No10 jersey.

The No10 shirt at Fenerbahce is currently worn by on-loan Aston Villa striker Mbwana Samatta.
Ozil also had to bide his time to wear his favourite shirt number at Arsenal, taking over the No10 shirt from the outgoing Jack Wilshere in 2018.
The Athletic revealed on Saturday that Arsenal and Ozil had reached an agreement in principle to terminate the 32-year-old’s contract at the Emirates, which was due to expire in June.
The termination comes despite Ozil being due around £7m in wages between now and the end of the season, although the two parties are believed to have arrived at a compromise.

The 2014 World Cup winner was left out of Mikel Arteta’s Premier League and Europa League squads at the start of the season.
He has not appeared in any competition for the Gunners since March.
Ozil travelled to Arsenal’s London Colney training ground to say goodbye to his teammates earlier today.
