He helped guide the German outfit to ninth place last season, featuring 22 times in all competitions.
And now questions are being posed as to what the future holds for Mavropanos, who has two years left on his Arsenal contract.
When asked if he can see himself staying at Stuttgart, he told BILD: “Of course I can imagine that.
“But we have to wait and see. For me, everything is perfect at the moment. The club and the city.”
As well as impressing in Germany, Mavropanos has also featured seven times for Greece in 2021.
But despite his good form, Arsenal already have a number of central defensive options including Ben White, Gabriel, Pablo Mari, Rob Holding and Calum Chambers.

Mikel Arteta also seems open to welcoming back William Saliba who is currently on loan at Marseille.
The Spanish coach said: “Yeah as a club we are always in touch [with Saliba].
“Edu and Ben (Knapper) were there to watch him and keep a close eye on him and the progress he’s making.
“He’s obviously our player and we do that with all the loan players that we have.”

Their rise up the table now sees them sit in sixth place ahead of their clash with Watford on Sunday. More

Xavi draws up five-man Barcelona transfer wishlist including Man Utd star Cavani and Arsenal striker Lacazette

And, with Barcelona currently languishing down in ninth place in LaLiga after just four wins from their opening 11 games, the 41-year-old has a huge job on his hands to turn the Catalan giants’ fortunes around.
According to Sport, Xavi has identified five players he is interested in bringing in to enhance the 4-3-3 formation he will vehemently stick to.
With Sergio Aguero out for three months, a proven No9 will be right at the top of Barca’s wishlist in the January window.
Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani and Arsenal man Alexandre Lacazette are both turning the head of Xavi as he looks for a player to lead the line.
Cavani and Lacazette’s current deals come to an end in the summer, meaning they can sign a pre-contract agreement elsewhere as early as January.
The Uruguayan has been forced to play second fiddle to Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford so far this season, while Lacazette has started just two of the Gunners’ 10 Premier League games in the 2021-22 campaign.

If neither of those come off, Barca may look to acquire RB Salzburg teenager Karim Adeyemi.
The German sensation has already netted 14 times in 18 games for the Austrian side this season, following in the footsteps of ex-Salzburg man Erling Haaland.
However, unlike Cavani and Lacazette, Adeyemi’s contract does not expire until 2024.
    I SPY STERLING
Another area Xavi will be looking to improve is on the flanks as he seeks to provide a new No9 with some added creativity.
And that could come in the form of Manchester City and England forward Raheem Sterling.
The 26-year-old has fallen out of favour with Pep Guardiola over the summer and been forced to play a bit-part role for the Prem champions.
Meanwhile, if Sterling is unwilling to consider Barcelona then Xavi may opt instead to try and sign Bayern Munich man Kingsley Coman.
The Frenchman, who scored the winner for the German side in the 2020 Champions League final, has only appeared once in Bayern’s starting XI in the Bundesliga so far this season.

Arsenal transfer target Alexander Isak opens door to move as Sociedad striker admits it would be ‘nice’ to play in Prem

And Isak has now boosted the Gunners’ hopes of signing him by suggesting he would be open to a move to England.
Speaking to The Independent, he said: “I am in a good place at the moment, I am very happy, but one day it would be nice to play in England as well.
“They have six or seven of the biggest clubs in the world, it is a very high level, and of course one day it would be an alternative.
“Every player wants to be the best version of themselves and reach the highest possible level.
“People will always count the goals, I want to score, but I want to be a modern striker. I love playing football and that means being involved as much as possible. I think that is why Spain has suited me very well.”
Isak has scored 38 times in 100 games for Real Sociedad since arriving from Borussia Dortmund.

And he has also impressed for the Sweden national team, scoring nine times in 30 matches.
Isak could well fill Lacazette’s boots at the Emirates if the Frenchman does not sign a new deal.
The Frenchman’s current contract expires in the summer, although manager Mikel Arteta has not yet ruled out the idea of him staying at the club.
When asked if Lacazette will leave, he said: “No, I wouldn’t say that. Anything is possible.

Tottenham ‘lead Arsenal in transfer race for Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic’ as Conte sets sights on Kane back-up

And, with Vlahovic preparing to enter the final year of his Fiorentina contract in June, Lanazione believe the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could be his next destination.
Talks between Vlahovic, 21, and the Serie A side have stalled and a new deal now looks to be off the table.
He had received interest from Manchester City and Atletico Madrid in the summer, but those enquiries eventually came to nothing.
The Serbian netted 21 goals in 40 games for Fiorentina last season, with the only players to outscore him in the Italian top flight being Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku and Luis Muriel.
And the young striker has not let up at the start of the new campaign having already scored ten goals in just 12 appearances.
Along with Spurs, Vlahovic has also caught the eye of North London rivals Arsenal as they seek a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette should he leave the Emirates at the end of the season.

The Frenchman’s deal with Arsenal expires in the summer and no new contract appears to be on the horizon.
But it is Spurs who remain the frontrunners to secure Vlahovic’s signature as they begin a new chapter under Conte.
Their talisman Kane has failed to hit the ground running since his transfer saga with Manchester City came to an end.
The England skipper has netted seven goals in 14 games in the 2021-22 season.

However, only one of those has come in the Premier League and he has been very quiet in recent Spurs games.

The Lilywhites have already lost five league matches this season, the joint-fifth most in the division. More

Arteta ready to let Lacazette leave Arsenal on free transfer in summer rather than flog him in January

MIKEL ARTETA says he has no plans to sell Alex Lacazette in January despite the risk of losing the player for nothing at the end of the season. The £54million striker is in the final year of his £180,000-a-week Arsenal contract and has not been offered a new deal by the club.

But he has been largely been an onlooker for the Gunners so far this seasonCredit: Getty
That will leave him free to open talks with foreign teams in the New Year with a view to walking away from the Emirates as a free agent.
And boss Arteta believes that is an option which more major stars will pursue as a result of the bottom dropping out of the transfer market due to Covid.
He says: “Big players running down their contracts is happening more than probably ever before.
“There is a reason for this and we are not the only club facing these kind of situations after everything else we have had to do over the past 18 months.
“We just have to try to deal with the issues we face in the best possible way, but there are no plans for Laca to leave us in January.
“He is our player and I will continue to treat him like everyone else no matter how long he has left on his contract because that’s what he deserves.”

Lacazette, 30, hasn’t started a single League game this season but came on as a sub to score a priceless 95th minute equaliser against Crystal Palace on Monday.
And Arteta has never questioned the French international’s commitment to the cause despite his contractual situation.
He says: “I never had any doubts that Laca would continue to give us everything.
“If I did, I probably would have suggested doing something different with him in the summer.
“It’s not the case with Laca that he cannot find his motivation and is only interested in his financial future.
“He has shown that every single day since I have been here and that’s why he is still a really important player for us.
“We have to accept his situation and see what will be the best option for everyone at the end of the season. Anything is possible.”
