      Jack Wilshere ‘being chased by Championship clubs and teams in Italy on free transfer’ after Arsenal training stint

      JACK WILSHERE has attracted transfer interest from various Championship clubs as well as teams from abroad after keeping fit with Arsenal.In a bid to keep his fitness levels up, the 30-year-old has been working with the Gunners for the past few months and has also been involved in their warm weather training camp in the UAE.

      Mikel Arteta has already ruled out the idea of an official contract offer for his former team-mate.
      However, Wilshere could finally soon find first-team football elsewhere having been without a club since leave Bournemouth in the summer.
      According to reports from football.london, a host of Championship clubs are looking to secure his signature.
      A move to Italy or Greece could also be on the cards with Serie B side Monza and AEK Athens among the former England midfielder’s admirers.
      The former Arsenal star has not played professional football in almost a year after being released by the Cherries in May.
      He made 198 appearances for Arsenal before joining West Ham in 2018 but his career has often been severely impacted by injuries.

      Barcelona and Juventus offer to take exiled Aubameyang off Arsenal’s hands until end of season on loan transfer

      BARCELONA and Juventus have both made loan transfer offers for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reports.The former Arsenal captain has been exiled by Mikel Arteta following his latest disciplinary issue, returning late visiting his mother in France, but that has not put off the two giant clubs.

      His last appearance was as a late substitute at Everton on December 6.
      After returning from the Africa Cup of Nations early after a heart scare, Aubameyang has trained alone – but now may have got a lifeline.
      According to The Athletic, the two European powerhouses have submitted formal approaches to sign the 32-year-old until the end of the season.
      The January transfer window closes for Barca in Spain at 11pm UK time on Monday night.
      For Juve in Italy, it is four hours earlier at 7pm UK time.
      Aubameyang looks set to remain frozen out in North London as they look to ship him out with 18 months left to run on his current contract – and Arsenal must decide if his relationship with Arteta is beyond repair.

      ASTON VILLA have completed the shock signing of Calum Chambers from Arsenal.The 27-year-old defender has penned a three-and-a-half-year contract with Steven Gerrard’s side.

      Chambers, who can operate at both right-back and centre-back, will be available to make his debut in the club’s clash at home to Leeds United on February 9.
      He told Aston Villa TV: “It’s a massive club and they’re in a great moment at this moment in time.
      “It’s a very exciting place to be and everyone can see that from the outside. Things are happening here and it’s definitely moving in the right direction.
      “For me, it was a no-brainer to join a great club. It was the right thing for me to do.”
      The star moved to the Emirates from Southampton back in 2014 and soon earned the first of three England caps.
      Chambers made 122 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal and won both the Community Shield and FA Cup during that period.

      AS ARSENAL’s stars fly to Dubai ahead of a week of warm weather training, the chances of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang heading for the Middle East are increasingly remote.Most of Mikel Arteta’s squad are travelling with their families today, with others joining them in the next couple of days before the hard work starts in earnest on Thursday.

      But Aubameyang has almost certainly not been invited to join the party after failing to re-establish himself in the manager’s good books.
      And he is highly unlikely to take up loan offers from two of Saudi Arabia’s richest clubs despite Arsenal’s willingness to release their highest paid player.
      Al Nassr and Al Hilal are both prepared to pick up the tab for his £250,000-a-week basic pay and pay a fee in the region of £8million to secure a permanent move in the summer.
      But Aubameyang, like Mesut Ozil before him, has made it clear that he will only leave the Emirates on his own terms and will not be forced out of the door against his wishes.
      And even though his Arsenal career might be coming to an end, the 32-year-old striker still believes he can compete at the very highest level with an elite European team.
      Yet the very fact that he is so far out of the picture at a club which has not scored in seven hours of football illustrates just how far his star has fallen.

      Because it makes absolutely no sense to be paying a world class striker £250,000-a-week to stay at home when the team is struggling for goals and in danger of missing out on a top four finish.

      Arteta has admitted there is a ‘cloud’ hanging over Arsenal’s forward options after skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was axed for disciplinary reasons and both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah entering the final six months of their contracts.
      He has also added that the Gunners are working hard on new additions and that they ‘are open’ to a big signing as long as it’s financially viable.
      Vlahovic, who has seven goals in 14 games for his country, joined Fiorentina from Partizan Belgrade in 2018. 
      He got 21 last season for the Italian club and has continued that red-hot form by scoring 20 in 24 matches so far in the current campaign.
      Italian sources also say Vlahovic’s preference is to join a side competing in the Champions League – something the Gunners and Spurs cannot offer at the moment and may struggle to next term.

      The meeting in Denver comes with the Gunners reportedly preparing to offer the Spaniard a contract extension – although the manager’s initial concern is the January transfer window.
      Arteta is desperate for attacking reinforcements but looks to have missed out on his No.1 target Dusan Vlahovic, with the Fiorentina star seemingly set to join Juventus instead.
      He also wants to bring in Arthur Melo from Juventus, but the Premier League side only have a week left to bolster their ranks before the window closes.
      A number of other forwards have been linked with Arsenal over recent days, including Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic.
      And Sun Sport understands that Arteta used his trip to the States to try and persuade billionaire Kroenke to splash the cash over the coming days as they discussed transfer funds and targets.

      Arsenal are staring at a blank February calendar of just two games after being dumped out of all cup competitions.
      The Gunners’ last hopes of silverware were dashed by Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final to leave them just in a top-four fight.
      Arteta’s men were already out of the FA Cup after their third round loss to Nottingham Forest and have no European football this season.
      And, in a weird twist of fate, Arsenal currently have just two matches scheduled in the space of 41 days.
      Their next fixture is on Thursday 10 February against Wolves at Molineux and their only other game in February as things stand is against Brentford on Saturday 19 February.
