Marquinhos in London to seal £3m Arsenal transfer from Sao Paulo with 19-year-old set for medical

ARSENAL target Marquinhos has flown to England to seal his transfer from Sao Paulo.The 19-year-old wonderkid arrived at the Gunners’ London Colney training centre on Thursday as he prepares to complete the final parts of the deal.

According to Goal, the teenage forward will undergo a medical in North London.
If all goes to plan, Arsenal will then pay around £3million to the Brazilian side and offer the player a contract until 2027.
Marquinhos was thought to be tied down to a five-year deal at Sao Paulo – a contract he signed in 2019.
However, Fifa ruled that the contract was only valid for three years – the maximum length for a player signing their first professional deal.

Nunez ‘snubs’ Man United
Darwin Nunez has reportedly rejected an approach from Manchester United to sign him from Benfica.
Arsenal and Newcastle have both been linked along with the Red Devils in making a move.
And French giants Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on Nunez.
Now RMC Sport have offered an update on his situation, claiming that United have informed the star’s camp that they would be willing to pay £67.8million for him.
However, it states that Nunez has refused United’s approach.
He wants to sign for a club that will be competing in the Champions League next season – with United only able to qualify for the Europa League at best.

Arsenal reportedly had no intention of finishing fourth this season.
And that’s why the club’s transfer budget will not be affected in the summer, according to ESPN.

Arsenal have sold Konstantinos Mavropanos to Stuttgart following a £3million deal with the Bundesliga outfit.

Aubameyang retires from international football
Ex-Gunner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has reportedly retired from international football.
The Barcelona forward won 72 caps for Gabon, and had been captain of his country until the time of his retirement.
In a letter to the Gabonese FA, Aubameyang wrote, as reported by Mundo Deportivo: “After 13 years of pride in representing my country, I announce that I am ending my international career.

This marks the Gunners’ first transfer of the summer as the centre-back signed a contract that ties him down with his new club until 2025.
The defender joined Arsenal from Pas Giannina in 2018 but failed to convince manager Mikel Arteta and was sent out on loan to Nurnberg before joining Stuttgart.
The Greece international has promised to continue giving his best at the Mercedes-Benz Arena and paid tribute to the trust and affection he received from everyone at the club.

But the 24-year-old has been revived at Stuttgart and played a key role in helping the Reds confirm their Bundesliga status for next season, scoring five goals and adding an assist in 33 matches this term.

Replying to Arsenal’s Instagram post unveiling Martinelli as the new No11, Torreira joked: “What number will I wear next year? Good luck amigo @gabriel.martinelli. I love you.”
Torreira had been expected to sign for Fiorentina on a permanent deal after an eye-catching loan spell in Serie A.

Torreira wore No11 on his back after joining the Gunners from Sampdoria in 2018.
But after he left on loan in 2020 the shirt was worn by Martin Odegaard during his loan spell last season, and it has been vacant this term.
