Arsenal make final contract offer to Eddie Nketiah amid transfer interest from West Ham and Crystal Palace

ARSENAL have made Eddie Nketiah a final contract offer to keep him at the Emirates Stadium. The Daily Mail are reporting that there is growing confidence that Nketiah will stay at the club despite increasing interest from West Ham and Crystal Palace.

The striker had reportedly rejected the chance to extend his current deal, which is up this summer.
But having enjoyed a run in the starting XI at the end of the season, he may now have been convinced to stay.
Mikel Arteta is supposedly a big fan of Nketiah and with Alexandre Lacazette leaving the club there is a chance he continues as first choice striker next season.
The 22-year-old started eight league games for the Gunners this campaign scoring five goals. He was also substituted on 13 times.

Now, Fiorentina’s president Rocco Benito Commisso has come out to lambast Vlahovic.
He claims Vlahovic “ruined” the club when he failed to follow through on his promise to extend his contract in Florence which meant the club had no time to replace him with another striker.
Commisso ranted to TuttoMercato: “The young gentleman ruined us. He promised us he would renew and we didn’t get anyone in September.”

ROBIN VAN PERSIE has been helping Arsenal out by giving Reiss Nelson tips. Nelson has spent the season on loan with Feyenoord and enjoyed a breakthrough season with 31 appearances.

Nelson told The Athletic: “Yeah, I speak with him.

Van Persie, now 38, joined Arsenal in 2004 and won the FA Cup with them before leaving for Manchester United in 2012.
But in 2018, the forward returned to his boyhood club Feyenoord for his final season as a player.

Now retired, Van Persie is a coach with the club’s Under-16s and has a hand with the first team, occasionally helping with training.
It is there the ex-Holland star gave Nelson a masterclass in movement in front of goal.
Nelson revealed: “Yeah, he does all the time. The little drop of the shoulder or coming short to go long or going long to come short.
“Little, simple stuff, but it gives you an extra yard or two to get in the box and finish.”

Nelson, 22, is expected to return to Arsenal after the summer break, where he will contend for a spot in Mikel Arteta’s starting 11.
But Feyenoord have also registered an interest in extending the winger’s loan for another year.

ARSENAL manager Mikel Arteta has revealed he is finally ready to welcome William Saliba into his Arsenal squad.But the on-loan defender does not want to come back.

Saliba, 21, was billed as one of the hottest defensive properties around when the Gunners splashed £27million on him in 2019.
But he is yet to even make an appearance for the Arsenal first-team, having been send out on a string of temporary switches.
Arteta is now finally keen to integrate his young star into his Arsenal defence.
He told RMC: “William Saliba has to come back. He has the experience to be competitive with us. We sent him to Marseille for his growth.”

He told BFM Marseille Provence: “There is a budget to stick to and a desire on the part of the owner [Frank McCourt] to make sure the club is balanced. There are priorities with regard to FFP.

And the striker, who is set to become a free agent next month, certainly flexed his notably bigger muscles in the top-flight this term for Mikel Arteta’s side.
He found himself leading the line for the Gunners during the second half of the season, and after his strike in Sunday’s final day 5-1 victory over Everton, he finished it with a goal tally in the double digits for the first time in his career.
But it seems his hard work is not stopping now, especially with the prospect of either a new bumper contract or big transfer move on the cards.

And he has shared a snap of the ripped England U21 international showing off his abs and six-pack on Instagram as Nketiah checked in for a post-season check up at the facility.
Speaking previously about his physical change, the star said: “During lockdown, I worked really hard on getting bigger and better on the ball.
“I’ve used the time well and it’s good that people can see the hard work.
“It’s something I wanted to do. As you go through the levels, it gets a lot harder physically so to be able to show your technique, you need that strength to cope with it.

Sterling future uncertain
Raheem Sterling’s Manchester City future remains up in the air – despite his key role in another title triumph.

Elneny deal
According to reports, Mohamed Elneny has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.
The Egyptian international was out of contract at the end of the season.
However, with injuries taking their toll, he was brought into midfield to steady the ship.
Telegraph journalist Sam Dean tweeted: “To be officially confirmed but… I understand Mohamed Elneny has now signed a one-year contract extension at Arsenal, with the option of another year.”
Real deal

Arteta revealed: “It’s been decided, but it’s very difficult to communicate it. What they deserve is to have what they had today.”
