Arsenal confirm Alexandre Lacazette is off with striker set to rejoin Lyon five years after leaving for the Emirates

ARSENAL have confirmed striker Alexandre Lacazette will leave the club at the end of June when his contract expires.The 31-year-old joined the Gunners in a £47million transfer in 2017.

He went on to score 71 goals in 206 appearances for Arsenal, helping the North London club win an FA Cup.
Lacazette took up the captain’s armband after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s controversial transfer to Barcelona in January.
The Frenchman said on Instagram: “Five years ago, my dream came true… to sign for Arsenal.
“It’s been an honour to wear the jersey, to be a part of this family. I won trophies, I met real and nice people, and I fell even more in love with this club.

GIANLUCA SCAMACCA has snubbed a £35million move to Arsenal in favour of staying in Italy, according to reports. Arsenal offered a transfer package of £35million plus bonuses to Sassuolo in order to bring the 23-year-old to the Emirates, but this was rejected by the player.

Alfredo Pedulla has reported Scamacca rejected the bid as he is waiting for a move to one of the Italian giants.
He is hoping the likes of Inter, AC Milan, or Napoli will make a concrete offer for him.
However, the report indicates that this could be some way off.
A move to this year’s Serie A runner ups Inter would take time to materialise, while one to the likes of champions Milan or third place Napoli would require more than an enquiry to be made.

Now Bild claim Bayern are not budging on the terms they have laid out and do not plan to make an improved bid.

Luc of love for Fiorentina might not be enough
Lucas Torreira has told Arsenal he wants to stay with Fiorentina even though the Italians failed to trigger their option to buy him, writes MARK IRWIN.
The Uruguayan midfielder completed a successful season on loan in Florence, helping the club to finish seventh in Serie A and qualify for the Europa Conference League.
Coach Vincenzo Italiano is keen to keep Torreira but the £12.5million option to sign him permanently expired on Tuesday.
Now Fiorentina are trying to negotiate Arsenal’s asking price down because they know the 26-year-old does not figure in Mikel Arteta’s plans and only has a year left on his £75,000-a-week Emirates contract.
Torreira told supporters: “My intention is to stay at Fiorentina but the club will need to find an agreement with Arsenal. I am very happy in Italy and in Florence.”
But Torreira’s agent Pablo Bentancur is not optimistic.
He said: “It’s not over yet but the chances of Lucas staying in Florence are very small.
“There is a contractual problem with Fiorentina and my priority is to find an agreement with them so he is not thinking about other teams for now.”

ARSENAL are trying to sign Youri Tielemans who is set to leave Leicester this summer, according to reports.The midfielder, 25, is believed to be open to leaving the Foxes after three-and-a-half years at the club.

And with Mikel Arteta believed to be keen on bolstering his midfield options, it seems a move for the Belgian is on the cards.
According to Fabrizio Romano Arsenal remain interested in Tielemans and will be patient in working out a deal as talks could take some time.
The transfer guru also claims two other Premier League clubs want the former Anderlecht star but did not name them.
Manchester United could be one of those teams as they are also in need of a midfielder and have been linked to Tielemans.

Tottenham are also interested in Tielemans with Antonio Conte promised as many as six signings this summer.
And Spurs could have the upper hand in luring Tielemans away from the Midlands as they can offer him Champions League football.
Leicester are believed to be open to selling as Tielemans has just a year remaining on his contract, though they could look to recoup the £40million they spent on him.
If Arsenal miss out on the midfielder they have other targets in mind – including Lens star Cheick Doucoure.
