Nketiah signs new deal, Porto CONFIRM Vieira move, Jesus’ second coming – latest updates

EDDIE NKETIAH will put pen to paper on a new long-term Arsenal contract, according to reports. The young striker appeared set for the Emirates exit door with his current deal expiring.
However, a flurry of starts and crucial goals in the final weeks of the season prompted both sides to reconsider their position.
Meanwhile, Porto have released a statement confirming the sale of Fabio Vieira, announcing that a deal is ‘complete for the amount of €40m, and of these, €5m are dependent on achievement of sports objectives’.
Elsewhere, Gabriel Jesus is reported to be keen for a reunion with Mikel Arteta.
The pair worked together during Arteta’s time at the Etihad, and the Brazilian would often be giving individual coaching sessions by the now-Arsenal boss.

    In the Hick of time
Arsenal are reportedly set to launch an £18million summer transfer bid for Aaron Hickey.
And they are willing to include a sell-on clause to persuade Italian side Bologna into a deal.
And to convince Bologna it’s a deal worth making, the Gunners will also include a clause entitling the Italians to a chunk of Hickey’s next transfer fee.
Arteta wants Hickey to become his third signing of the summer.
Arsenal have already landed Brazilian winger Marquinhos and are now set to welcome Porto playmaker Fabio Vieira.
    Not a Fab deal
Porto’s decision to sell Fabio Vieira to Arsenal for £34m hasn’t sat well with former club president José Fernando Rio.
He thinks Porto have undersold the attacking midfielder.
Speaking to Rádio Renascença, via Record, he fumed: “The financial administrator had already announced the need to realise between €70-100m in capital gains this year, and I was already waiting for the bleeding to start.
“Obviously, we have to discount the intermediation costs. At Porto, we never know they are high or low, but normally they are quite high.
“President Pinto da Costa has been filling his mouth with numbers, saying that Porto has a situation that allows players to be negotiated only through the release clause, and we see that this is not true.”
    Arsenal’s costly European failure
Arsenal’s failure to qualify for the Champions League has resulted in them missing out on Yves Bissouma.
The Brighton ace has joined Tottenham for £25m.
    Bissouma wanted Champions League football
He was keen to join a club competing in the Champions League and is excited to work under Antonio Conte.
Arsenal had regularly been linked with Bissouma during the last two seasons, but will now look to pursue Youri Tielemans.
    Osimhen transfer battle
Tottenham are reportedly preparing to swoop in and steal Napoli striker Victor Osimhen from under Arsenal’s nose.
The Gunners had an initial bid of £51million rejected by the Serie A side earlier this week as they eye a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette.
Reports have stated Mikel Arteta’s men are now considering a club record £86m bid to get a deal over the line.
Man Utd have also been linked with a move for the Nigerian.
However, according to journalist Lorenzo Amuso, Spurs could well get there ahead of them both.
This is because Antonio Conte’s side are able to offer Osimhen Champions League football next season.
    It’s Asensio ‘at all costs’
Arsenal have been busy putting their disappointment of missing out on the Champions League behind them, and have been making strides in the transfer market.
A deal for Porto’s Fabio Vieira has been all but confirmed, talks for Gabriel Jesus are progressing, and, now, they are pushing hard for Marco Asensio.
According to Sport (via Sports Witness), the Gunners want to sign the Spanish international ‘at all costs’.
Asensio has been in talks with current club Real Madrid regarding a contract extension, but is aware that a place in the first team at the Bernabeu is far from guaranteed.
The 26-year-old is eager for game time ahead of November’s World Cup, and would consider a move to the Premier League – and sources close to Madrid understand that Arsenal are best placed to make a move for the forward.

    Nketiah to pen new deal
Eddie Nketiah is poised to put pen to paper on a new Arsenal contract, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The young striker had looked destined to leave the Emirates this summer once his current deal reached its conclusion.
However, a run of starts and important goals towards the end of the season prompted both parties to reconsider their position, and the 23-year-old now looks set to stay.
Nketiah’s new contract is expected to keep him at the Emirates until 2027, and will ward off interest from a number of Bundesliga clubs.

    Porto confirm Vieira’s Arsenal move
Porto have released a statement informing the market of an agreement to sell Fabio Vieira to Arsenal.
The Portuguese club announced that a ‘deal was complete for the amount of €40m, and of these, €5m are dependent on achievement of sports objectives.’
There has yet to be any official confirmation from Arsenal, who are understood to be carrying out the midfielder’s medical at this moment.
Second coming? Jesus wants Arteta reunion
Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus is eager to reunite with Mikel Arteta at Arsenal.
Sky Sports’ journalist Melissa Reddy has revealed that the Brazilian striker is keen on the idea of playing for his former coach, who he enjoyed a good relationship during their time together at the Etihad.
Arteta was assistant to Pep Guardiola when Jesus joined City in 2017, and would often offer the Brazilian striker advice and individual coaching sessions.
    Vieira to undergo Arsenal medical
Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira will undergo a medical at Arsenal this afternoon ahead of a £30m move to the Emirates.
The Gunners agreed a transfer fee for the 22-year-old earlier this week, and are also understood to have agreed personal terms with the player.
Assuming his medical runs smoothly, Vieira will pen a five-year contract with the Premier League club.
The Portuguese playmaker created a league-high 14 assists in the Primeira Liga last season, and was voted player of the tournament at last year’s European Under-21 Championship.

    Atalanta ‘considering’ loan of Tavares
Serie A outfit Atalanta are said to be ‘considering a loan move’ for Arsenal misfit Nuno Tavares.
According to Gazetta dello Sport (via The Mail), the Italians are weighing up whether to bring the left-back to Bergamo for the upcoming campaign.
Tavares made 28 appearances during his first season at the Emirates – mainly as cover for Kieran Tierney – after arriving for £8m from Benfica last summer.
However, the 22-year-old was often the scapegoat for some poor performances, especially after being hauled off early by Mikel Arteta on more than one occasion.
The Gunners are unlikely to allow the Portuguese defender to leave without cover for the injury-prone Tierney – which may hint at the imminent arrival of another Scot in Aaron Hickey.

    Good morning Arsenal fans
Arsenal have placed Gabriel Jesus their No.1 transfer target, according to Fabrizio Romano.
He said to Caught Offside: “Gabriel Jesus is still the main target of Arsenal as of today.
“In the next few hours there will be new contacts to understand if they can reach an agreement or move to other targets.
“There is not only Arsenal on Gabriel, who will leave Man City at 100%. He’s a top player who wants to start matches, and it’s not too surprising to see him take his time over a decision on his future.”
Elsewhere, Eddie Nketiah has reportedly penned a new deal with Arsenal.
His new contract will see him stay at Arsenal for more than a decade after he joined the club in 2015, according to the Evening Standard.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have reportedly triggered Porto ace Fabio Vieira’s release clause.
The Gunners have launched a £36m bid free Vieira from his contract entanglement, according to the Express.
It is thought that the 22-year-old is traveling to North London to undergo a medical before completing his switch to the capital, the report adds.
Arsenal will pay Porto £29.8m for Fabio Vieira, plus £4.2m, reports revealed.
The 22-year-old will sign a five-year deal with the Gunners, according to David Ornstein.
His switch to North London was facilitated by super agent Jorge Mendes.
Mendes also played a pivotal role in Nicolas Pepe’s transfer to Arsenal last summer.
Finally, Arsenal are reportedly closing in on the signing of Bologna full-back Aaron Hickey.
The Emirates will likely be the next best destination for the 20-year-old, according to the Scotsman.
However, the Gunners will have to cough up £18m minimum for Hickey, the report adds.
    Arsenal make Jesus transfer priority
Arsenal have placed Gabriel Jesus their No.1 transfer target, according to Fabrizio Romano.
He said to Caught Offside: “Gabriel Jesus is still the main target of Arsenal as of today.
“In the next few hours there will be new contacts to understand if they can reach an agreement or move to other targets.
“There is not only Arsenal on Gabriel, who will leave Man City at 100%. He’s a top player who wants to start matches, and it’s not too surprising to see him take his time over a decision on his future.”
    Nketiah signs new deal
Eddie Nketiah has reportedly penned a new deal with Arsenal.
His new contract will see him stay at Arsenal for more than a decade after he joined the club in 2015, according to the Evening Standard.
The striker’s commitment to Arsenal comes after he was linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer.
    Arsenal face Scamacca transfer battle
Arsenal may lose out on transfer target Gianluca Scamacca to PSG.
The Gunners have reportedly tabled a £25m bid for the Sassuolo forward.
But PSG’s new transfer chief Luis Campos has held talks with Sassuolo’s director about the star.
Sassuolo director Carnevali told Sky Sport: “Scamacca deal with PSG? Luís Campos is a good friend, we’ve had talks also in Paris for the UCL final.
“Scamacca certainly was one of the names we mentioned”
    Fabio Vieira gets glowing review
Arsenal have been given an insight of what they can expect from Emirates-bound Fabio Vieira.
The Porto star has cemented himself in Portugal’s youth setup, and U21 boss Rui Jorge raved about the 22-year-old’s ability in a prior interview.
Jorge enthused last year: “He is a very technically advanced player, he is good at defining, but he needs to improve some aspects of his game in order to become a full-fledged player.
“He knows this and will work on these aspects. Fabio has a great future if he sees fit. I think he wants to be the player he can be. I believe that we can meet a great player.”
    Arsenal confident of signing Jesus
Arsenal are reportedly confident of beating Chelsea to signing Gabriel Jesus from Man City.
The Gunners believe Jesus’ relationship with Arteta from when they worked together at City will give them the edge in the transfer race, according to The Times.
However, the Gunners also face competition from Real Madrid who also want the Brazilian, the report adds.
    Arsenal close in on Hickey
Arsenal are reportedly closing in on the signing of Bologna full-back Aaron Hickey.
The Emirates will likely be the next best destination for the 20-year-old, according to the Scotsman.
However, the Gunners will have to cough up £18m minimum for Hickey, the report adds.
Art of the deal – Arteta lands Vieira
The idea to sign Fabio Vieira came from Gunners boss Mikel Arteta, the Athletic reports.
Arteta is said to have expressed his admiration of the player to the board for months.
This contracts with usual signings, which Sporting Director Edu tends to take the lead in obtaining.
    Remember the name?
While Fabio Vieira rightly has Arsenal fans excited, he will have to be something special to get close to the achievements of the last Gunners midfielder to bear that surname.
We are, of course, talking about France World Cup winner Patrick Vieira.
During his time with the Gunners, the now-Crystal Palace manager won three Premier League titles and four FA Cups as well as being one of the key men in Arsene Wenger’s legendary 2004 Invincibles side.

    The new Bruno Fernandes?
Fabio Vieira has played just two seasons at Porto, but he’s already earning comparisons with Man Utd’s Bruno Fernandes, writes SunSport’s Mark Irwin.
He adds that talks are underway over personal terms, with a five-year contract on the table and hopes of the deal being wrapped up by the weekend.
Now Arsenal must decide whether to continue their long-standing pursuit of Leicester’s Youri Tielemans, who plays in a much deeper position to Vieira.
    Arsenal receive striker blow
Arsenal’s transfer pursuit of Juventus striker Alvaro Morata has been dealt a huge blow.
The Gunners, along with Newcastle, were tracking the attacker last season.
But he has no intention of leaving Italy for England at the moment, according to Gazetta dello Sport.
Morata is said to be happy with Juve where he wants to remain next season, the report adds.
    Arsenal’s shrewd business plan
Arsenal will NOT trigger Fabio Vieira’s release clause fee, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 22-year-old’s exit price is £42m, but the Gunners will only pay £29m upfront, plus £4.2m.
Instead of meeting Vieira’s release price, Arsenal decided to haggle with Porto who are willing to negotiate over the price, Romano added.
    Arsenal target speaks on future
Arsenal transfer target Noa Lang has revealed that he wants to leave Club Brugge to further his career.
And the Gunners have received a huge boost in their pursuit of Lang who shut down reports claiming he’s en route to AC Milan.
Lang said on his future: “There is no agreement with AC Milan or anything. I don’t know where this kind of news comes from.
“If I have to report to Club Brugge again, I will do so with all my love. I love the club and will give the full 100 per cent.
“The agreement with Brugge is that it must come to a transfer, both parties agree on that.
“I want to continue to develop and so I have to take a step.”
    Fabio Vieira – assist king
Fabio Vieira played a key role for Porto last season.
The 22-year-old was the assist king in the Portuguese league last season.
He managed to provide 14 assists in 27 matches, on par with Gil Vicente ace Pedrinho.

    Fabio Vieira transfer broken down
Arsenal will pay Porto £29.8m for Fabio Vieira, plus £4.2m, reports revealed.
The 22-year-old will sign a five-year deal with the Gunners, according to David Ornstein.
His switch to North London was facilitated by super agent Jorge Mendes.
Mendes also played a pivotal role in Nicolas Pepe’s transfer to Arsenal last summer.

Hickey, 20, has been a revelation in Serie A following a shock £1.5m move from Hearts two years ago.
The Scotland left-back made 36 appearances last season as his side finished 13th.
And Hickey could now be set for a move to the Emirates to play with international team-mate Kieran Tierney.
Mikel Arteta wants better depth on the left side of his defence next term.

Tottenham ready to hijack Arsenal’s Victor Osimhen transfer bid after Gunners fail in £51m offer

TOTTENHAM are reportedly preparing to steal Napoli striker Victor Osimhen from under Arsenal’s nose. The 23-year-old has scored 28 goals in 62 appearances since joining the Italian outfit from Lille for £67.5million in 2020.

The 22-year-old will sign a five-year deal with the Gunners, according to David Ornstein.
His switch to North London was facilitated by super agent Jorge Mendes.
Mendes also played a pivotal role in Nicolas Pepe’s transfer to Arsenal last summer.
    Prem interest in Porto star
Man United and Tottenham were also tracking Fabio Vieira, reports claim.
He became a fixture in Porto’s side last season, making 27 appearances in Liga Portugal.
But the Gunners managed to beat Prem rivals United and Spurs to his signature it seems as he heads to London to undergo a medical.
    Who is Fabio Vieira?
Fabio Vieira is an attacking midfielder who has sometimes played as a second striker.
The 22-year-old provided 6 goals and 14 assists for Porto last season.
He joined the Portuguese side as a youth in 2008, and scored in his side’s 3-1 over Chelsea in the UEFA Youth League final in 2019.
    Interest in Arsenal starlet
Arsenal starlet Jack Henry-Francis is reportedly being chased by three League One clubs.
Oxford United are one of the aforementioned sides who want to bring the 18-year-old in on loan this summer, oxford.vitalfootball reported.
And Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is willing to let Henry-Francis leave, the report also states.
    Arsenal set to make signing
Arsenal have reportedly triggered Porto ace Fabio Vieira’s release clause.
The Gunners have launched a £36m bid free Vieira from his contract entanglement, according to the Express.
It is thought that the 22-year-old is traveling to North London to undergo a medical before completing his switch to the capital, the report adds.
    Tavares wanted by Atalanta
Arsenal star Nuno Tavares is being chased by Italian club Atalanta.
The Serie A side have been impressed by the defender, and want to bring him in loan, according to Corriere della Sera.
Atalanta will likely try to add an option to buy clause into the deal, but it’s unclear if Arsenal will be open to doing so, the report adds.
    Nottingham Forest eye versatile star
Nottingham Forest will step up their efforts to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles, according to Sky Sports.
The player has now returned from his holiday and is reportedly looking to get hooked up with a new club.
The Hale End graduate has fallen down the pecking order under Mikel Arteta. He spent the second half of 2020/21 on loan with West Brom and spent the second half of last season playing under Jose Mourinho at Roma.
It is not clear whether Maitland-Niles will leave on loan once again or if Forest are eyeing a permanent deal.
    Payout for former Arsenal striker
Former Gooner Emmanuel Adebayor has landed a half million-pound payday – after Fifa ruled the striker’s club had sacked him unfairly.
He made just four appearances for the Asuncion outfit before Covid-19 halted their season.
Adebayor then failed to return from home country Togo amid travel restrictions.
Olimpia then tore up his one-year contract in June 2020, and the 38-year-old has not played since then.
Fifa’s football tribunal has now ordered Olimpia to pay Adebayor 510,000 dollars (£420,000), plus 12 per cent interest backdated to 2020.
    Finish with a flourish
Brighton and Nottingham Forest follow the May 6 game with Newcastle.
Arsenal will once again finish the campaign at the Emirates, with Wolves their last opponent.
    Optimistic for 2023?
Arsenal will welcome Newcastle to the capital on Jan 2, before facing Spurs away and United at home.
Arteta will see February and March as an opportunity to pick up points in his quest to secure Champions League football.
They will face no team that finished in the top seven of the Premier League in the 21-22 season.
April promises to be a tough period as they travel to Leeds, Liverpool, West Ham and Manchester City.
And they also will host Southampton and Chelsea in the penultimate month of the season.
A tricky visit to St James’ Park to take on Newcastle on May 6 could prove pivotal if Arsenal are to finish in the top four – oh dear, we’ve heard that before!
    An easy August for Arsenal
Arsenal have been handed a favourable start to the 2023-23 Premier League season with the club to play no ‘Big Six’ side in the opening month.
That is a stark contrast to last campaign’s nightmare start where they faced Chelsea and Manchester City in their first three matches.
For the second year running, Arsenal will play away on a Friday night to kick off the new term on August 5.
And they will be desperate avoid a defeat like they did at Brentford last season as they face Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace, who smashed them 3-0 at Selhurst Park in April.
Following the London derby, the Gunners host Leicester, before pitting their wits against newly-promoted sides Bournemouth and Fulham.
They conclude the month with a home clash against Aston Villa, before travelling to Manchester United on September 3 in their first major clash of the campaign.
‘Different vibe between Tottenham and Arsenal’, says Sheringham
Former England international Teddy Sheringham has shamed Arsenal’s season, whilst likening his former Tottenham side to a “lion”.
The Gunners missed out on Champions League qualification to their North London rivals on the final day.
Sheringham spoke with Lord Ping, and said: “There is a totally different vibe between Tottenham and Arsenal; Spurs are fighting like a lion under him, whilst Arsenal faded at the business end of the season.
“Conte is taking his players with him and they are loving the ride.”
Arsenal faded at the business end of the seasonTeddy Sheringham
Arsenal no soft touch this summer
Arsenal are telling miserly rivals to put up or shut up after pulling the plug on Lucas Torreira’s cut-price move to Fiorentina.
The Emirates hierarchy are fed up with European clubs trying to sign their unwanted players on the cheap.
And they have ruled that the days of the great Gunners giveaway are now a thing of the past as they look to get greater value for money in the transfer market.
They are particularly irked by Fiorentina pleading poverty during negotiations for Torreira just months after using Arsenal’s interest in Dusan Vlahovic to squeeze £65million from Juventus for the striker.
Fiorentina had agreed a £12.5million option to sign Torreira when they took him on loan last season.
But they reneged on that pledge when it came to negotiations for a permanent deal and said they would go no higher than £7million.
Breaking – Arsenal set to seal Jesus with £50m bid
Arsenal have submitted a £50million bid for Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus, according to reports.
The Gunners previously bid £30m for Jesus, 25, but are now set to match City’s £50m asking price, report The Times.
And the forward is said to be keen on the move to link back up with Mikel Arteta, who he worked with at City.

The Gunners were seemingly unwilling to pay £50m to land Jesus previously given he is set to enter the final year of his City contract.
But the striker’s agent Marcello Pettinati reportedly arrived in London yesterday to hold transfer talks with Arsenal.
Personal terms are still yet to be agreed but it seems Jesus is heading for the Emirates.
    2022-23 Premier League match-ball
The Premier League have revealed their 2022-23 Nike match-ball – and it’s a stunning retro throwback.
The fixtures for the upcoming season were released early on Thursday morning.
And the official Premier League Twitter account followed that up shortly afterwards by sharing two pictures of the new match-ball.
Nike‘s 2022-23 effort is inspired by the iconic 1992-93 Mitre Pro-Max ball used for the first-ever Prem campaign, even featuring the navy blue, red and gold arrows.

The Premier League shared a sneak peek of the ball on Twitter, captioned: “Inspired by the first PL season, 30 years ago.
“The new 2022-23 Nike Flight PL Ball. Out 15 July.”
Tielemans a ‘top priority’ for Arteta
Arsenal are hopeful they can seal a deal for Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans before the end of the month, according to reports.
Ben Jacobs of CBS Sports said: “Arsenal remain confident and on course to sign Youri Tielemans before the month is out.
“Interest from Tottenham was never too advanced. But Bissouma’s incoming arrival will allay fears Spurs could hijack the deal.
“Tielemans is one of Arteta’s top priorities.”
Arsenal pre-season training in less than TWO weeks
Arsenal will report back at London Colney in less than two weeks before heading to Germany for their first match of the summer.
The Gunners begin their preparations for the 2022-23 campaign on June 27 as Mikel Arteta prepares for another shot at securing Champions League football.
Arteta still managed to claim a spot in Europe after failing to play in any Uefa competition last term after finishing eighth in 2021.
And the Spaniard will now be aiming to go one better this time around when he welcomes his players back to the club.
According to Arsenal Fixture News, the first team squad are due to return on June 27.

    Aubameyang sale ‘a mistake’
Mikel Arteta ‘needed’ to get Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang playing again after their dispute last season, claims Harry Redknapp.
The former Tottenham boss told talkSPORT: “You needed to get him playing, didn’t you!?
“They don’t have that many good players. Get him on side.
“Sometimes you have to swallow it and get them playing for you.”
    Finish with a flourish
Brighton and Nottingham Forest follow the May 6 game with Newcastle.

    Arsenal before the new year
It stands to be a torrid October for Arteta’s men who welcome North London rivals Tottenham to the Emirates at the start of the month, with the return fixture set for January 14.
And while juggling Europa League football, they will square off against Liverpool and Manchester City at home on October 8 and October 18 respectively.
They will also travel to Leeds and Southampton in what will prove to be a challenging time for Arsenal.
November will see Arsenal play just two games before the 2022 World Cup – trips to Chelsea and Wolves.
Their first game back after the global tournament will be a Boxing Day tie against West Ham at home, before concluding 2022 with a visit to Brighton on December 31.

PSG want to replace Icardi with Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca, who scored 16 times in Serie A.

    Conte wants three more signings
Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is intent on adding three more signings to his squad after bringing in Yves Bissouma.
Conte hopes to recruit a right-wing back, centre-back, and a striker to Tottenham’s squad this summer, according to The Evening Standard.
And Nottingham Forest star Djed Spence is Conte’s top pick for the right-wing back role, the report adds.

    Chelsea line up Lewandowksi transfer
Chelsea are lining up Robert Lewandowski as a back-up target for Gabriel Jesus after Arsenal took a huge step towards signing the Brazilian, according to reports.
Chelsea had hoped to sign Jesus, 25, to solve their centre forward woes, with Timo Werner also struggling for goals following his 2020 transfer.
In fact, the German is regularly forced out wide by Thomas Tuchel, with Kai Havertz leading the line as a false nine.
Tuchel is desperate for an elite striker to finally solve his forward dilemma, with the boss keen on his wealth of Premier League experience and versatility.
But with Arsenal leading the race for the Manchester City star, Tuchel has turned his attention to Lewandowski as a back-up option, according to Christian Falk.
    Spurs close to completing biss-ness
Yves Bissouma has completed his medical ahead of a switch to Tottenham, report Sky Sports.
Spurs have agreed a £25million deal with Brighton for the midfielder, which could rise to £35m depending on add ons.
Bissouma is understood to have flown into the UK on Wednesday and stayed at the on-site hotel at Tottenham’s training ground.
Arsenal, Aston Villa and Everton had been among the other clubs interested in signing the Mali international this summer after Brighton had rejected a bid from Aston Villa for Bissouma in the January transfer window
    Prem transfer battle for Swede
Southampton are close to completing a £9million move to sign Bologna midfielder Mattias Svanberg, according to Calciomercato.
West Ham, Tottenham and Everton are all said to be interested in the Swedish midfielder, who is about to enter the final year of his contract.
    Marcelo Bielsa targets Antoine Griezmann
Marcelo Bielsa is being tipped to take over at Athletic Bilbao and he could make Antoine Griezmann his first signing.
The Frenchman was born in the Basque region so qualifies for Bilbao having previously played for neighbours Real Sociedad.
AS report Bielsa’s interest in the forward but state Atletico have first dibs since they have the option to make his loan permanent.
Liverpool complete £6.5m deal for Aberdeen full-back Calvin Ramsay
Liverpool are set to announce their third signing of the summer and in doing so complete their transfer business for the year.
Aberdeen full-back Calvin Ramsay will follow £85million arrival Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho through the doors at Anfield.
The Reds and Scottish side Aberdeen have agreed a £6.5million fee for the 18-year-old right-back.
An initial £4m will be paid up-front, with the deal worth a further £2.5m in add-ons, a record sale for the SPL outfit.

And in signing Ramsay the Mail claim Liverpool’s business has concluded for the summer, eleven-weeks before the transfer window closes.
Carvalho and Nunez have already been recruited, with the Reds happy to wait another until 2023 to make more additions.
Man Utd offered ‘nothing’, says Pogba
Paul Pogba claims he left Manchester United because he did not receive a substantial contract offer from the club.
The midfielder, 29, is set to leave Old Trafford after six years when his contract expires at the end of the month.
In a new Amazon Prime documentary about his life titled “The Pogmentary”, Pogba shares the conversation he had with his agent, the late Mino Raiola, about United’s offer in the summer of 2021.
Raiola says to his client: “Yes. They absolutely want you to stay.
“For me, the offer doesn’t reflect that. I told them, ‘If you want him to stay, don’t make that offer’.
“I will make them understand that if they really want you to stay and they want to build a project around you, this time they have to act differently and put the money on the table.”
Pogba agreed with his agent’s view of the situation and the Frenchman responds saying: “They’re bluffing.
“How can you tell a player you absolutely want him and offer him nothing? Never seen that.”
Has Gary Neville got a reason to worry?
Gary Neville admitted Manchester United’s failure to make a signing this transfer window is “worrying” him.
As well as De Jong, the Red Devils have been linked with AC Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer, who reportedly wants out at the San Siro.
Elsewhere an offer has been made for Christian Eriksen, who is a free agent after his short-term deal with Brentford came to an end.
But Neville is quite rightly keen for much of United’s business to be done before the Ten Hag era gets underway at home to Brighton on August 7.
The Red Devils have been handed a tricky opening month by the Premier League schedulers.
After travelling to Brentford, United face Liverpool, Southampton and Leicester, before hosting Arsenal at the start of September.
Man Utd face competition over Ward-Prowse
West Ham and Newcastle have reportedly joined Manchester United in the race to prise James Ward-Prowse away from Southampton.
SunSport exclusively revealed last month how new Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag had identified the midfielder as a key target.
Ten Hag is desperate to bolster his midfield with Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic set to leave when their contracts expire at the end of June.
We also told you how David Moyes was keeping tabs on the England international ahead of a possible summer swoop.
And now the Mirror have claimed that the Hammers boss is keen to bring him to the London Stadium.
They also state that Newcastle are interested in the player following his stunning 2021-22 season.
Ward-Prowse chipped in with a career-best 11 goals in 42 games in all competitions, while also registering eight assists.
    Want fries with that?
Manchester United and Tottenham have been joined by Chelsea in the battle to sign Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries.
The Red Devils and Spurs are both priced as 6/1 favourites with Sky Bet, but Chelsea are just behind at 7/1.
The Dutch international impressed during last summers Euros campaign where the attacking fullback bagged two goals and an assist in Netherlands’ run to the round of 16.
His solid displays in the Euros earned the 26-year-old a £12m move from PSV to Inter Milan.
The right wing-back impressed in his first season in Italy, winning the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana, leading to reports of another move this summer.
    Sky Bet odds:

    Manchester United – 6/1
    Tottenham – 6/1
    Chelsea – 7/1
    Bayern Munich – 16/1

    Wales ace in demand
Rabbi Matondo is at the centre of a SIX-CLUB summer transfer fight, writes SunSport’s Phil Cadden.
Premier League trio Brentford, Leeds and newly-promoted Nottingham Forest are all admirers of the Wales forward.
Matondo, who was on loan at Cercle Brugge last season but is contracted to Schalke, has also attracted interest from Ligue 1 clubs Lens, Brest and Troyes in France.
The 21-year-old did not find an agreement with Belgian club Brugge, where he scored nine goals last term, but is available for £3.5million.
Matondo has just one year left on his deal with the Bundesliga outfit.

    Jorginho no longer ‘untouchable’?
Juventus could offer Merih Demiral to Chelsea in exchange for Jorginho, with the Italian midfielder no longer considered “untouchable”, according to reports.
Chelsea chief Tuchel has a plan to rebuild and could use Jorginho, 30, as a pawn to land a freebie to help ease his woes.
The Italy international was considered “untouchable” by Stamford Bridge chiefs and was even tipped for the Ballon d’Or as recently as last year.

But according to CalcioMercato, Tuchel is happy to move on from the midfielder, who’s hot form cooled late last season.
And Juventus are set to take advantage by offering a straight swap.
Demiral, 24, spent last season on loan at Atalanta, but the Serie A side rejected their £15million option to sign the Turkish international permanently.
The centre-back is not in Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri’s plans.
The Old Lady boss was set to put Demiral on the transfer market for around £25m.
    Forest close to signing Henderson
Nottingham Forest are “close to agreeing” a deal with Manchester United for the signing of keeper Dean Henderson.
Sky Sports report that deal is a loan with an option to buy for around £20million.
Forest are looking to replace Brice Samba, who told the club he wants to leave.
Chelsea a ‘realistic destination’ for Nkunku
Former England international Glen Johnson reckons that Christopher Nkunku should snub Manchester United for a move to Stamford Bridge.
Nkunku, 24, has been linked with both Chelsea and United this summer.
And the ex-Chelsea man spoke to bettingodds.com about the highly-rated midfielder.
Johnson said: “I believe Chelsea is a more realistic destination than Manchester United if both clubs are genuinely interested.
“A player going to a top team that’s had a really good season will be looking for Champions League football… I definitely think that’s where these sorts of players look first.
“If he was to leave RB Leipzig, then I think Chelsea could be a better fit.”
    Inter make Lukaku bid
Inter Milan have made an opening bid for Romelu Lukaku, according to reports.
The Belgian is eager to return to San Siro, just one year after his £97.5million return to Chelsea.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Inter offered just £4.3m to loan Lukaku back for the season.
The bid was quickly rejected by the Blues, but the striker will continue to push.
Lukaku has informed Todd Boehly and Thomas Tuchel that he only wants to return to Inter.
    Klopp vs Guardiola
Liverpool host Man City on Oct 15.
The reverse tie in Manchester is on April Fool’s day.
Stick them in your diary folks.
    Super Sunday
The first Super Sunday of the season will feature both Manchester clubs.
Manchester City will see summer signing Erling Haaland in action.
Pep Guardiola’s Prem champions will travel to the London Stadium to face West Ham.
The two sides played out a thrilling 2-2 draw last time out, with City coming from two goals down after Jarrod Bowen scored a first half brace.

But just before West Ham and City play, Erik ten Hag will look to start his Manchester United career with a win.
The Red Devils will take on Brighton at Old Trafford in a 2PM kick-off.
Friday night lights and Saturday kick offs
Arsenal will kick off the Premier League season for the second year in a row with the Gunners travelling to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace.
The last time Arsenal faced Patrick Vieira’s men away from home, Palace stuck three past them in a major blow to their top-four hopes.
Liverpool fans will then be given a first glimpse of club record signing Darwin Nunez in competitive action.
Jurgen Klopp’s domestic double Reds travel to Championship record goal scorers Fulham.
Fabio Carvalho could feature against his old club Fulham after leaving for Liverpool on a free transfer.
Bournemouth’s return to the top flight will see them face a new look Aston Villa at 3PM.
Leeds vs Wolves, Leicester vs Brentford, Newcastle vs Nottingham Forest and Tottenham vs Southampton make up the rest of the 3PM kick-offs on the opening weekend.
Everton will then close the opening Saturday when they welcome Chelsea to Goodison Park in a 5.30 kick-off.

    2022/23 Premier League opening weekend
The Premier League fixtures have been released!
We have a Friday night bout between Arsenal and Palace to open the Premier League season.
Promoted Fulham are up against Liverpool in the early kick-off on Saturday.
And champions Man City face a tricky away tie at West Ham on Sunday.
    Bring it on.

    Jules might be stolen
Chelsea target Jules Kounde is reportedly in advanced talks over a move to Barcelona.
Kounde, 23, has been a long term target for Thomas Tuchel’s team as they look to replace departing key defenders.
Both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen are leaving for free and centre-back Kounde seems the perfect fit.
But now Cataluyna Radio claim that Barcelona are in “advanced negotiations” with Sevilla for the French international.
There is a £51million deal lined up which would see the Catalan club also send a player in exchange.
It would be a major blow to Chelsea’s transfer plans, in the first window of the Todd Boehly era.

Chelsea make Robert Lewandowski back-up transfer target if they miss out on Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal

CHELSEA are lining up Robert Lewandowski as a back-up target for Gabriel Jesus after Arsenal took a huge step towards signing the Brazilian, according to reports. The Blues are desperately chasing a new striker with Romelu Lukaku pushing for a return to Inter Milan after a disastrous 2021-22 season – his first following a £97.5million return to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea will be boosted by the knowledge in-debt Barcelona may not be able to afford Lewandowski, but are aware PSG won’t have such problems.
And they may have to admit defeat in the race to sign Jesus.
According to The Times, Arsenal have submitted a £50m bid for the Man City striker.
The Gunners previously bid £30m for Jesus but are now set to match City’s £50m asking price.
The forward is said to be keen on the move to link back up with Mikel Arteta, with whom he worked with at the Etihad.
