Ex-Man Utd star Henrikh Mkhitaryan ‘approached by Inter Milan ahead of free transfer after Roma’s Conference League win’

FORMER Manchester United and Arsenal ace Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been approached by Inter Milan, reports suggest.That is according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who reports that Mkhitaryan has received an “official proposal” to join Inter as a free agent.

The Roma star’s deal runs out in June and the inaugural Europa Conference League winners have offered him a new contract.

U-21s not backseat for Rowe
Lee Carsley says Emile Smith Rowe should not see his inclusion back in the England U21 squad as a “demotion”.
And the Young Lions chief fully expects Arsenal star Smith Rowe to be on top of his game, despite having been in the senior set-up last time out.

Chelsea have been dealt a transfer blow as Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele could join Paris Saint-Germain, reports suggest.
AS say Dembele – previously linked to Manchester United and Arsenal -has rejected a new Barca contract offer to leave on a free transfer next month.
The forward has been linked with the Blues, who are looking to add some firepower up front after Todd Boehly’s takeover is officially completed.

Arsenal have reportedly contacted the Ghana Football Association to request that Thomas Partey is omitted from his country’s national squad ahead of the African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Madagascar and the Central Africa Republic.
The 28-year-old, who missed the Gunners’ last nine games of the season with a hamstring injury, was expected to be called up by head coach Otto Addo.
However, the Premier League club are still monitoring the player’s return to fitness, and have asked for him to be left out as a precaution.
Saliba still part of plan
William Saliba will not be sold this summer despite increasing interest from clubs across Europe.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed another impressive season out on loan – this time at Marseille – in which he also broke into the French national team.
The Ligue 1 side have been keen to make his loan move permanent while the likes of AC Milan have also been linked.
However, Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu have reiterated that the player’s long-term future is at the Emirates, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Gunners plan to finally integrate Saliba within the first team next season.

The Gunners are the only club to have two different stoppers on the ten-save shortlist.

“Our job is to maybe let them kick-start themselves again or maybe come into form and score some goals.

CHELSEA have been dealt a transfer blow as Barcelona ace Ousmane Dembele is set to join Paris Saint-Germain, reports suggest.That is according to AS, who report that Dembele rejected Barca’s new contract offer and decided to leave the Nou Camp in June when his deal expires.

Mikel Arteta has previously spoken very highly of the 22-year-old, but has finally backed it up by giving him a prolonged chance in the starting XI.

Arsenal fans have finally seen their team clear the wage bill by getting rid of high earners like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Willian and Mesut Ozil in recent years.
So handing Nketiah such a contract raises concerns that the club could be about to repeat past mistakes.
On the other hand, with Europa League football added to Arsenal’s schedule next season, Arteta will have to be smart about how he rotates his squad.
Not having to purchase a new forward to help ease the burden on a new No9 wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world – and could even save funds to strengthen elsewhere.

Personally, I would like to see Nketiah stay and fight for his place.
With his exceptional, record-breaking form for England at youth level, we have seen glimpses of what he could do in an Arsenal shirt.
I used to believe that, while Nketiah is an ice-cool finisher, he lacked the ability to play up top on his own.
But after seeing him bulk up and occupy defenders, I now have faith that he can play the role of lone target man effectively.
The World Cup may play a big factor in Nketiah’s decision.
Having starred for England’s Under-21s, he now looks set to declare his allegiance to Ghana, captained by his Arsenal team-mate Thomas Partey.
With the Black Stars having qualified for Qatar later this year, Nketiah will want to start next season with a bang in order to peak at the tournament.
Whether it would be better for him to be a squad player at Arsenal, or to be starting regularly elsewhere, remains to be seen.
