      William Saliba ‘not planning to extend Arsenal contract as Marseille plot transfer for defender’

      WILLIAM SALIBA “does not intend” to extend his Arsenal deal, reports suggest.The defender, 21, returned to the Gunners’ training ground to much fanfare earlier this week and looks set to finally play a role with the Gunners this season.

      Saliba’s agent was also spotted at London Colney to discuss the £27million defender’s contract having impressed on a string of loans since his 2019 signing.
      However, reporter Mohamed Toubache-Ter claims Saliba has not extended and is not planning to do so “for the moment”.
      Nevertheless, the centre-back flew with the North Londoners to the US for pre-season as he still has two years left in his current deal.
      Marseille are still interested in signing the France international on a permanent basis after his brilliant loan stint at the Velodrome last season.
