Martinelli’s contract at the Emirates Stadium expires in 2024, meaning he would be able to leave the club for free in a year and a half.
His three appearances at the World Cup have caught the eye of Barcelona, with the club labeling him as a “favourite” of the club’s sporting department and coaching staff, according to Sport.
The outlet has suggested that Martinelli will be watched closely by Barcelona as they consider making a move for him at the end of the season.
Martinelli has been in impressive form for the Gunners this season as he has helped them to the top of the Premier League table.

The 21-year-old has scored five goals and assisted two more in his 14 league appearances this season.
Manager Mikel Arteta will be keen to keep hold of the wide attacker but could be concerned as reportedly his representatives have a “very good relationship” with the LaLiga side.

Although there is some comfort from the North London side over the player’s future.
Martinelli’s current deal allows the club to extend his stay for a further two years as well as him being keen to sign a new contract.

The attacker has previously stated that he is “very happy” at Arsenal, with the club opening talks over a new improved contract.
Speaking before Arsenal’s Europa League game against Zurich in November, he said: “This is my club. I love to be here, I love the city, I love the club.
“I love everything about Arsenal so I want to stay.
“I’m very happy. Yeah, I just need to get a pen!”
So despite the interest from Barcelona, snatching Martinelli away from the Gunners could prove to be a difficult task. More

Tomiyasu was preparing for Monday’s last-16 clash with Croatia, where he played the whole 120 minutes of a 1-1 draw before Japan exited 3-1 on penalties.
He was unaware Jesus could need surgery and sit out three months – rocking their club’s chances of retaining their lead in the Premier League.
When asked about the former Manchester City frontman. Tomiyasu replied: “I don’t know – he has got injured? Jesus? Oh, I didn’t know that.
“Really? Because I watched only the first half – and then he was injured in the second half?

“It’s bad. Where is this? Knees? Oh, it’s a shame because obviously to play in the World Cup is a big dream for us, for every football player.
“So I’m sorry for him but hopefully he will be back soon.”
Jesus sustained his nasty knock in last Friday’s 1-0 group loss to Cameroon.
But Brazil certainly didn’t miss him as they swept aside South Korea with a 4-1 blitz in the last 16 on Monday.

That included strikes from fellow forwards Vinicius Junior, Neymar with a penalty and Richarlison.
In contrast, Jesus’ absence might tempt Gunners’ boss Mikel Arteta to widen his wishlist in the January transfer window.
So far Arteta has reportedly targeted a new midfield anchorman and a winger.
The Spaniard has also been linked with battling Tottenham for Ecuador’s Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie. More

And he’s one of 14 first-teamers amongst the 27 players that boss Mikel Arteta has picked for the Dubai Cup over the next week.
The Gunners face Lyon on December 8 and AC Milan five days later.
The current World Cup break came perfectly for three stars plagued by fitness issues this season.
Elneny, fellow midfielder Emile Smith Rowe and left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko will expect to be back in top shape when Arsenal resume their Prem title bid at home to West Ham on December 26.

Zinchenko has been troubled by a calf injury and Smith Rowe’s hopes of adding to his three England caps with a call-up for Qatar were ended by groin surgery two months ago.
But once the World Cup finishes, Arteta still faces being without crocked Brazil frontman Gabriel Jesus until as late as February.
That could persuade the Spaniard into a bigger new-year transfer spree than he had planned.
A midfield anchorman and winger reportedly topped his wishlist.

But Jesus’ absence would leave Arteta with little striking back-up except for Eddie Nketiah.
Arsenal are also being linked with Ecuador’s star World Cup defender Piero Hincapie.
Tottenham too are said to be keen on the Bayer Leverkusen ace, 20.

Hincapie only arrived in Germany in the summer of 2021 from South American club Talleres de Cordoba.

He has already racked up 24 caps for Ecuador, three of which came at the World Cup.
Meanwhile, he’s established himself as a regular at club level, splitting his time on the pitch between centre-back and left-back.

‘Who taught you that, bro?’ – Mesut Ozil responds to Olivier Giroud after ex-Arsenal star scores with his trademark chop

MESUT OZIL has messaged his former Arsenal teammate Olivier Giroud following his goal for France in the World Cup.The French striker became his nation’s record goalscorer as his effort his side past Poland and into the quarter-finals of the tournament.

Giroud has now scored 52 goals for France, one more than former Gunner and Barcelona star Thierry Henry.
But Ozil was quick to spot the technique used by Giroud to convert the chance.
The AC Milan striker was found by a sliced pass from Kylian Mbappe and struck the ball into the ground with his left foot leading it to bounce over the goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny and into the goal.
A brace from Mbappe helped France seal their spot in the next round of the World Cup.

It was remarkably similar to the technique Ozil used throughout his seven-year stay at Arsenal.
It was the same way that Ozil managed to fire past Simon Mignolet for his goal against Liverpool in 2017.
And Ozil cheekily tweeted Giroud enquiring as to where he may have picked up the skill, he said: “Nice goal… who taught you that bro.”
Along with the caption, Ozil attached a GIF of the two of them during their time at Arsenal.

In an interview with GOAL, Ozil revealed why he uses the technique, he said: “As a player you always want to try and discover new things.

Arsenal take 14 first-team stars to Dubai for warm-weather training as Premier League leaders prepare to resume season

ARSENAL are taking 14 first-teamers in a 27-man squad for the Dubai Super Cup as the Premier League leaders prepare to resume their season. But boss Mikel Arteta’s plans have been overshadowed by Brazil striker Gabriel Jesus possibly facing three months out with a knee injury suffered at the World Cup.

But Emile Smith Rowe and Kieran Tierney have shaken off their own early-season fitness problems and are among the big names travelling to the UAE for the Gunners’ warm-weather training.
Martin Odegaard, Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Magalhaes add to a powerful-looking party who face Lyon on December 8 and AC Milan five days later.
But the focus is on Jesus, who is flying back from Qatar to be assessed by Arsenal’s own medics.
The £45million summer recruit from Manchester City has already been ruled out for four weeks.

But if his right knee needs surgery then another two months could be added to the 25-year-old’s lay-off.
Brazil boss Tite furiously dismissed he was aware of an injury problem with Jesus before starting him in Friday’s 1-0 loss to Cameroon.
Tite said: “I don’t like evil lies, and at no time whatsoever did we play for a victory at the risk of a peril to a player.
“Arsenal have a great medical department, Brazil has a great medical department and we are personally responsible and ethical.”

Jesus’ former Etihad team-mate Oleksandr Zinchenko is in the Gunners’ squad for the UAE, ahead of the Prem restarting at Christmas.
Without Arsenal players still at the World Cup, Arteta has called in several youngsters.

That’s because England back-up stopper Aaron Ramsey is, of course, still in Qatar and Matt Turner’s USA were only eliminated on Saturday. More

Gabriel Jesus ‘faces THREE MONTHS out’ in huge Arsenal title blow with Brazil World Cup ace to fly to UK today

ARSENAL ace Gabriel Jesus could reportedly face THREE MONTHS out with a knee injury. Jesus, 25, is already out for about four weeks and is set to fly back to the UK to be evaluated by Arsenal doctors after leaving Brazil’s World Cup camp.

According to sportv, if the forward ends up needing surgery then he will be sidelined for at least the next three months.
The striker appeared to confirm his injury, tweeting: “If there was a timeline and I could see you and tell you something, I would say ‘Gabriel, you are a winner’.
“Thank you to everyone who sent messages of support and affection.”
Brazil boss Tite also hit back at claims which suggested he knew Jesus had an injury BEFORE he played against Cameroon.

He said: “I don’t like evil lies, and at no time whatsoever did we play for a victory at the risk of a peril to a player.

“Arsenal have a great medical department, Brazil has a great medical department and we are personally responsible and ethical.

“Not to take the pain away because obviously we can’t, but just to make them feel better, strengthen them, and take part as much as possible.”
The injury will come as a massive blow to Arsenal’s title hopes, with Jesus being an integral part of the Gunners’ unexpected title charge.
It may accelerate Arsenal’s transfer plans to sign a new striker in January.
Eddie Nketiah is currently the only other recognised senior striker at the club.
And while he has been a reliable deputy for Jesus when coming into the team, there are question marks over the long-term viability of playing him up front as the main striker.
Arsenal fans did not take earlier reports of his injury well either, with one even suggesting their season is “OVER”.
Memphis Depay has been earmarked as one solution by Piers Morgan.
The Manchester United flop is now starring at the World Cup for Holland under Louis van Gaal – scoring his nation’s first as they beat the USA 3-1 to seal a spot in the quarter finals.
After the game, Piers said: “Arsenal should sign Memphis in January. Such a good player and would work well up front with Jesus.”
Jesus being crocked would delay such a partnership, but prior to that it would give Mikel Arteta the firepower he needs to try and maintain the five-point lead they currently have.

While Arsenal now sit on 37 points after 14 games, their record of 31 points from 12 games puts them on course to break the club’s record for points.
Furthermore, it suggests history is on their side – with only ONE team failing to win the Premier League after earning as many points at that stage. More
