Despite entering the final 12 months of his contract, Tielemans remained at the King Power and has been crucial in helping the club recover from their poor start.
But he is free to speak to overseas clubs regarding a free transfer from January 1 with his deal expiring in June.
Leicester had been determined to keep him but an extension still appears to be off the table.
Now Arsenal are reportedly set to test the waters when the window re-opens to try and convince the Foxes to cash in while they still can.

The Daily Mirror states that “any decent offer will be very tempting for the Thai-owned Foxes whose financial fortunes have been hit this term with no European football”.
Leicester forked out £40million for Tielemans to Monaco in 2019 and know they could potentially recoup around half that fee if they sell next month.
And the Gunners hope that they can beat off any competition from abroad by snapping him up quickly.
Tielemans, who was part of Belgium’s dismal World Cup campaign, has remained tight-lipped about his future all season.

He said back in September: “I’m not going to speak too much about my contract situation at the moment.
“My family is very happy there [in Leicester] and that’s important. I didn’t leave in the summer as I always said the project had to be the right one.
“Just because things are getting worse now at Leicester doesn’t mean I should regret [staying]. Whether you are in your last contract year or not, it’s also not the case that I talk to the club every day about my extension or not. That’s work for my agent.” More

But after struggling for more action, he was sold to Italian side Empoli in 2017.
Arsenal lived to regret it as Bennacer’s excellent displays saw him earn a move to Milan two years later.
And the Algeria international has since become a key member for the Rossoneri.
In three years he’s been with the Serie A giants, Bennacer has featured in over 100 matches in all competitions.

And those include the 40 he made last season as Milan won their first Scudetto title since 2011.
He remains under contract until 2024 – but TuttoMercatoWeb are claiming the Gunners are readying a swoop to bring him back.
Bennacer has allegedly received an offer from Milan to extend his deal.
They have offered him around £3.4 million-a-year to stay until 2027.

Arsenal refuse to rule out January transfer move for attacker with Gabriel Jesus injured as Mykhaylo Mudryk linked again

ARSENAL are set to make a call on whether or not to sign a new striker before Christmas. The Gunners have lost star striker Gabriel Jesus to a knee injury, leaving Eddie Nketiah as the only striker in Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Bosses at The Emirates will wait to assess all the players who have returned from the World Cup before deciding how to approach the January window.
Jesus is said to have responded well to surgery, with Arsenal having moved quickly to bring him back from the World Cup, though his recovery time is still unclear.
The former Manchester City striker picked up the knee injury in Brazil’s final group game against Cameroon and, after Arsenal director Edu liaised with the Brazilian federation, Jesus was back in London and going under the knife.
It was a break from usual protocol for Brazil, who usually like to keep injured players with the group for the remainder of the tournament, but both Arsenal and Jesus were keen to get the striker back to London and being his recovery as soon as possible.

Arteta could use Gabriel Martinelli, who will return to training this week, through the middle if needed while Emile Smith Rowe, who is continuing his recovery from groin surgery, could be used as a false nine.
But a move to find additional cover in the January market has not yet been ruled out.
Arsenal have long tracked Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhalo Mudryk, though were given a fresh warning over his price tag, told they will have to match the £100million Manchester City paid for Jack Grealish to land the 21-year-old.
Darijo Srna, director of football at Shakhtar, told Marca: “Who wants to sign Mudryk has to pay a big amount of money — otherwise our president will not sell him.

“Jack Grealish was sold for more than €100m and Mudryk’s level is not lower.”
Another option being considered by the Gunners is to recall on loan striker Folarin Balogun.
The England Under-21 striker is spending the season with Stade Reims in Ligue 1 and has eight goals and two assists in 15 appearances so far this season.
Arsenal are pleased with his progress and must consider whether it is worth bringing him back as cover or letting his development continue in France. More

Arsenal could hold the advantage over their London rivals.

And this has left Eddie Nketiah as the club’s only recognised striker, leading them to accelerate their transfer plans into January.
According to Fichajes, former Manchester City star Torres is wanted by Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta to relieve their firepower issue.
Arteta wanted Torres in the summer too, and would have landed his man were it not for a late veto from Barcelona boss Xavi.
Arsenal submitted a late bid for the Spaniard worth around £26million – a price Barcelona’s board accepted.

Torres’ versatility is a desirable quality and it would allow him to fit anywhere in Arsenal’s attack.
Much of the style Arsenal employ is similar to Arteta’s previous boss Pep Guardiola’s own philosophy and style.
In the season and a half Torres was in Manchester, he had some strong displays all across the front three.
In the end, his City record ended with 20 goal contributions in 43 games.
