Arsenal boost as ‘Joao Felix does NOT want to move to Birmingham amid Aston Villa transfer interest & wants bigger club’

JOAO FELIX reportedly favours a “bigger club” than Aston Villa in an apparent boost to Arsenal’s hopes of securing his signature. The 23-year-old has been linked to a host of Premier League clubs including Chelsea and Manchester United.
Joao Felix is managed by Jorge Mendes, who is said to be pushing a deal with Aston Villa.
Felix has lit up the World Cup at times with flashes of brilliance and registered two assists and one goal in his four appearances before Portugal’s exit.
The Atletico Madrid player is expected to leave the Spanish capital after falling out of favour with the club.
Aston Villa were reported to be one of the club’s interested in him, but according to Spanish newspaper Marca, that is looking unlikely.
Marca has reported that Felix isn’t interested in moving to Birmingham to join The Villans and is hoping for a club with “more substance and history”.

New boss, Unai Emery, will be a level of attraction for new recruits, but it seems not enticing enough for Felix.
Arsenal could appear a more attractive proposition than Villa – who, unlike the Gunners have won the European Cup – due to their position at the top of the table and far better recent history.
Gabriel Jesus has had to undergo surgery following an Injury to his knee.
Mikel Arteta’s side are without Gabriel Jesus for up to three months following the Brazilian’s injury in Qatar, leaving a vacancy up top that Felix could occupy.
The Portuguese creator made the move to Madrid in 2019 for £113million, but it’s said the club would be willing to let him go on loan.

Atletico chief executive Miguel Angel Gil admitted that despite him rating Felix very highly it is likely he could leave.
He told Spanish broadcaster TVE last week: “He is the biggest investment the club has ever made and I think he is at the highest level in the world in terms of talent.
“I would love him to continue, but that is not the player’s idea.” More

The 39-capped international has been linked with a move to England for years, with clubs such as Chelsea and Manchester United both credited with an interest in him.
But it seems that Arsenal are now his most likely destination with the Metro suggesting that Mikel Arteta’s side are looking to win the race for him.
The Gunners tried to sign the midfielder in the summer but their bid of £42million rejected.
Lazio’s club president Claudio Lotito has been vocal about his wish to keep Milinkovic-Savic at the club and has been consistent about saying how highly valued he is at the Rome club.

He recently claimed that the player is worth £105million after he was asked if Juventus had agreed to a transfer for him.
He said: “‘I have no agreement with his agent [Mateja] Kezman to sell him to Juventus of anyone else in the winter.
“On the contrary, he is now worth €120m [£105m], not €100m [£88m]. Every month the price goes up.”
However, the player’s contract expires at the end of the 2023/24 season and he would then be free to walk away for nothing.

Reports have suggested that the Serie A side would sell him for £69m in January and for as low as £34m in the summer.

He has helped them win the Coppa Italia and has been named the club’s player of the season for the last two campaigns. More

And the Ukrainian star is their No1 priority.
According to the Evening Standard, negotiations are now underway over a deal early in the New Year.

However, Mikel Arteta and the Arsenal board are confident they will be willing to drop their demands.
Arsenal were first linked with Mudryk over the summer but were not prepared to pay the high fee and instead looked at landing Pedro Neto from Wolves.

However, a winger was still wanted in January – even before striker Gabriel Jesus’ surgery.
And their hopes of landing Mudryk were boosted when he revealed his admiration for the North London club – and would choose Arsenal over Real Madrid.

Mudryk told Vlada Sedan’s YouTube channel: “From a purely hypothetical perspective if there was the option of being a bench player for Real Madrid or a starter for Arsenal, I’d probably choose Arsenal.
“But it’s a tough question and involves a lot of factors in my answer.
“I would first want to know from the head coach that even if I wasn’t a guaranteed starter, that I’d receive a chance.
“Essentially I need to hear directly from the manager what he envisages my role in his side to be.”
Arsenal, though, may face competition from Newcastle and Manchester United for the eight-cap star.
Mudryk has scored ten goals and added six assists in 18 games this season.
That includes five goal involvements in six Champions League games as Shakhtar finished third in the group behind Real Madrid and RB Leipzig to drop into the Europa League. More
