The Blues are yet to make an official bid for Mudryk, but are set to open talks for his signature this week.
Shakhtar chief Darijo Srna is in London and is expected to attend Chelsea’s clash with Manchester City tomorrow.
A bid of £60m plus £20m in add-ons could be enough for the Blues to beat Arsenal to signing Mudryk.
Shakhtar believe an offer in this region to be a fair price, given the fees paid for Jack Grealish (£100m) and Antony (£85.5m) in recent seasons.

Chelsea are also keen on Argentine World Cup winner Enzo Fernandez.
But Benfica’s eye-watering £112m price tag could prevent the Blues from signing both he and Mudryk. More

Despite the Gunners having already agreed personal terms over a five-year deal, worth around £120k-a-week, with Mudryk, Chelsea are set to enter the fray having already started discussions.
If the Blues agree to meet the asking price, around £60million with another £20million in add-ons, and offer better terms than the Gunners they could pip the Premier League leaders to the deal.

Benfica’s World Cup winning midfielder, Enzo Fernandez, is a target, but they may not have the funds to sign both the Argentine and Mudryk in the same window.
Mudryk has long teased a move to The Emirates, having openly discussed his desire to join the club as well as posting pictures of him watching recent games on social media.
A move to join Mikel Arteta’s side is still Mudryk’s preference, but the feeling is The Gunners are still a long way off.
The north Londoners remain confident a deal can be struck this month and are pushing to agree terms before Shakhtar travel to Turkey next week for a training camp.

With Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli both having started every Premier League game this season, manager Mikel Arteta is desperate to get Mudryk on board as quickly as possible to maintain his team’s Premier League title charge.
Arteta is keen to bring in attacking reinforcements following Gabriel Jesus’ knee surgery, which will keep him on the sidelines until March at the earliest.
The Spaniard said of Jesus’ injury: “It’s a huge blow for us, obviously.
“He’s such an important player: he’s brought something very different to the team and it’s impossible to replace him.

He has also fuelled those rumours by stating there is a scenario where he could choose Arsenal over Real Madrid.
Now supporters of the North London outfit are becoming increasingly convinced he is due to arrive at the Emirates in the January window.
And that belief has manifested itself in them overanalysing Mudryk’s Instagram stories.
Pictures of him in the gym led one fan to cite the make of the weights, his “hotel slippers” and a “UK fire alarm” as reasons why the young Ukrainian is in Britain.

They tweeted: “Is Mudryk in the UK… it looks as though he is in a hotel with hotel slippers…

That post saw legions of other Arsenal fans add to the theory.
One said: “Lovely find. On that, he could be at that that Sopwell House, Hertfordshire. 👀
“If you look at the images there, the hotel has a running theme of floral wallpaper (orange) as in Mudryks story. Then they got the same air vent system (yellow). 👀”
While another added: “Furthermore, Zinchenko posted gym work yesterday NIGHT TIME. Couple hours later Mudryk posted gym work..AT NIGHT TIME. That’s his mate.
“Couple of my mates motivationally compete with each other in the gym via Insta…same thing.”
And a third replied: “It’s 100% the Millennium hotel Gloucester in London. The light fittings flooring and paint colours all match!!!”
Mudryk, who has contributed 12 goals and 17 assists in 44 games for Shakhtar, dropped two hints about an Arsenal move over the weekend.
One was him labelling Mikel Arteta and Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi – who he previously worked under – as “two top coaches” while he watched their Premier League clash.
He then posted a compilation video of his own highlights from 2022 with the song Circo Loco by 21 Savage and Drake over the top.
The song includes the lyrics: “Still gotta see the Gunners win Premier League.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal fans’ detective work on Mudryk is nothing new.
