Arsenal starlet Gabriel Martinelli bounces back from blanks with 43 Dream Team points in his last six outings

ARSENAL took another step closer to the Premier League title on Sunday.A trip to Craven Cottage has proved to be a stern test for visiting teams this season with Fulham still in contention to qualify for Europe but the Gunners made light work of Marco Silva’s side.
Leandro Trossard (£3.8m) was the star of the show with all three assists in the 3-0 victory, an effort that earned him a Star Man award, but Dream Team bosses would have noted Gabriel Martinelli’s (£3.7m) goal with considerable intrigue.
Arsenal show no signs of faltering
The Brazil international was phenomenal at the start of the campaign, racing to 52 points by Game Week 9, but he recently suffered a dip that resulted in five consecutive blanks.
During this time, Martinelli was among the most transferred players in Dream Team as gaffers looked elsewhere for healthy returns.
Mikel Arteta also recognised the need for change and dropped the 21-year-old to the bench, or withdrew him around the hour-mark for the aforementioned Trossard.
However, that proved to be all the motivation Martinelli needed to rediscover his best form.
His close-range header on Sunday was his fifth goal in his last five Premier League games, a run that has moved him back up to sixth in the rankings among Dream Team assets in his position.
Arsenal’s No11 has registered 43 points in six outings across the last four Game Weeks with a second against Sporting CP to come before the current Game Week is complete.

At £3.7m Martinellii is once again one of the best value-for-money forwards Dream Team has to offer.

It will be interesting to see how Arteta will use his attacking players now that Gabriel Jesus (£5.3m) has returned from injury.
The former Manchester City striker was a key component prior to the World Cup but the north Londoners have hardly been hindered by his absence, thanks to a fruitful spell from Eddie Nketiah (£3.4m) before Trossard came to the fore.
Bukayo Saka (£5.4m) is a lock on the right flank and that leaves two spots in the front three remaining for the Belgian, Jesus and Martinelli to compete for in the coming weeks.
Rotation is inevitable so it’s likely all of them will get their fair share of minutes – depending on Thursday night’s result there may also be more Europa League knockout fixtures to juggle.
Arteta has plenty of in-form options in the attacking positionsCredit: GETTY
Dream Team managers probably don’t need favourable fixtures to convince them of the viability of Arsenal players at this stage of the campaign but, for what it’s worth, their schedule looks relatively friendly.
Arteta’s men host a Crystal Palace side without a win since December in Game Week 27 and after the international break they take on Leeds, Liverpool, West Ham and Southampton. More

But their reported pursuit of the starlet has hit the rocks following interest from Spanish giants Barcelona.
That’s according to Spanish newspaper Sport, who claim the 18-year has said “no” to the prospect of moving to the Emirates.
It’s also said Roque is refusing to entertain other offers following the news of Barca’s interest in acquiring his services.
Roque joined Athletico Paranaense last April from Cruzeiro for a fee of £4.7million.

Roque bagged two of those goals in Paranaense’s 4-0 romp against Sao Joseense on Sunday.

Arsenal star Ben White’s tattoos revealed, from butterfly on back and romantic heart on thumb to THROAT inkings

ARSENAL star Ben White is committed to body ink.The England defender, 25, has several tattoos adorning his chiselled body.
Ben White’s body is adorned in tattoos
His most recent bit of work is a butterfly etched on his back by A Star Tattoos, which trended on TikTok.
In the summer, he showed off matching ‘I Love You’ tats with fiancee Milly Adams that they had done shortly after their engagement.
While, written on his neck is the word ‘Shine’ in a smart black font.
SunSport takes a look at his tattoos, and what they they could mean.

    Butterfly
Written underneath an inspiring message on his back, White introduced a butterfly to his torso.
Although the meaning hasn’t been disclosed, it could certainly signify the idea of soaring high.
Like his football team, Ben is flying at the moment.
It was created by A Star Tattoos – a side business of A Star Barbers – who famously trim Jack Grealish and Paul Pogba.

White is a regular with them, and they have created several for him.
This Butterfly tattoo is White’s most recent
    Shine
An inspiring word, White’s body is covered in positive messages.
And on his neck he has the word ‘Shine’ inscribed.
Next to that, there’s a small cross.
We don’t know if White is religious – but when he grew up in Dorset he went to school Queen Elizabeth’s, which preaches strong Church of England ethics.
White’s neck tattoo is visible from a game last month
White has the word ‘Shine’ written on his neck next to a cross
    Lion
A massive tattoo of a lion’s eyes stretches across White’s chest.
The lion is a popular tattoo for professional footballers – with the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Memphis Depay sporting them.
Again, it symbolises bravery and strength.
It was a tattoo that seemingly inspired his Arsenal team-mate Emile Smith Rowe, who later got a lion sleeve on his arm.

Tattoos of lions – seen here across White’s pecs – are popular with footballers
    Matching ink
Last summer, White got engaged to stunning fiancee Milly Adams.
The loved-up couple celebrated by getting matching ‘I Love You’ messages written on their hands.
Shortly after, they were spotted enjoying a romantic holiday in an unknown sun-drenched location.
While aboard a rented yacht, they showed off a new set of matching designs.
This time, they both had super-cute hearts on their thumbs.
Also on Ben’s hand you will find his star sign – Libra, as well as the date 1959.
That could be the year a relative was born, although it’s not clear.

The striker’s success reached new heights as he set a league record with Will Still’s team.
The forward has become the youngest player to score at least 16 goals in Ligue 1 in his first campaign since the 1960-1961 season.
Balogun reached that landmark at the age of 21 years and 252 days old.
The England Under-21 international, who is also eligible for USA and Nigeria, led Reims to a stunning 1-0 win at Monaco with a fine finish on 51 minutes.

That works as a powerful message to the Gunners from the youngster that could give manager Mikel Arteta something to think about.
Balogun is not the first loanee to stand out during Arteta’s reign as William Saliba did the same in the last three years with Saint-Etienne, Nice and Marseille.
Saliba is now a key figure in the North Londoners’ Premier League title-chasing squad and has formed a strong partnership with Gabriel Magalhaes at centre-back.
Balogun has scored only three goals fewer than top scorers Kylian Mbappe and Jonathan David of PSG and Lille respectively.

Having spent his first few games coming off the bench, the former Brighton man is now making his mark.
And he made his impact felt at the Cottage as he registered a stunning hat-trick of assists in the first half.
Opta revealed that it is the first time a player has managed three assists in the opening 45 of an away game in the history of the Premier League.
Trossard also became the first player since former Arsenal star Santi Carzola a decade ago to grab a hat-trick of goals and a hat-trick of assists in the same season following his goal spree at Anfield in October for Brighton.

Arsenal fans were left raving about their record-maker on Twitter as they strolled to victory in west London.
    One said: “Special, special player.”
Another said: “Best Premier League January signing ever.”

    “What a signing.”
The Gunners only went over after Trossard after missing out on Mykhailo Mudryk, who moved to Chelsea instead of Arsenal.
But the 28-year-old is having the far bigger impact so far as Arsenal look to escape Manchester City’s clutches in the title race.
The first goal came as Trossard whipped a ball into the box from a corner to find the head of Gabriel.
Trossard then bamboozled Tete with sharp footwork before standing the ball up at the far post to find Gabriel Martinelli.
And just before half-time the Belgian once again slipped down the left and found a cross, with this one controlled and then slashed home by Martin Odegaard. More

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reports the Gunners have “appreciated” the winger for a “long time” and remain keen to recruit him.
