      UNAI EMERY is reportedly eyeing a reunion with Kieran Tierney at Aston Villa.The 51-year-old Spaniard has performed a stunning job since replacing Steven Gerrard in the Villa Park dug-out in October.

      Emery is now closing in on bringing European football back to Villa for the first time in 13 years with the manager already looking for reinforcements to bolster his squad.
      And now a fresh report from the Daily Mail claims that Arsenal’s 25-year-old left-back is also on his transfer wishlist.
      Emery brought Scottish international Tierney to the Emirates back in 2019 while he was in charge of the Gunners.
      The ex-Celtic ace became a big fan favourite in North London but he has been limited to just five starts for the Premier League title challengers this term.

      He suffered a serious knee injury last season, leading to boss Mikel Arteta bringing in Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City in the summer and the Ukrainian has made the full-back spot his own.
      And now Tierney could decide to try and push for a move elsewhere in order to get more regular action with his former manager keen.
      However, Tierney is also attracting interest from elsewhere in England.
      Sun Sport exclusively revealed that Newcastle are confident of landing the ace with Eddie Howe on the lookout for a new left-back.

      And title rivals City are also believed to be keen on snapping him up too.
      Meanwhile, Emery knows that failing to qualify for Europe could have a serious impact on the calibre of player he is able to bring in this summer.
      He said: “Maybe, yes, but it’s not changing the mind I have, the idea we spoke about.
      “We want to create a strong structure here, a strong mentality. You have to build a team like a family. 
      “If we are in Europe – we will add some possibility to take away trophies, playing more matches, for me it will be fantastic.
      “If it’s not this year, my idea and objective is the same – try to play in Europe with Aston Villa.
      “Not only just to play in Europe but I want to play in the Champions League with Aston Villa.”
      Villa head to Wolves today having dropped to eighth following the midweek action but are only a point behind sixth-placed Brighton. More

      Arsenal’s faltering bid for a first Premier League crown in 19 years has suffered a blow in recent weeks due to the loss of first-choice defender William Saliba.
      In the Frenchman’s absence, back-up centre-half Holding had deputised alongside Gabriel Magalhaes as Ben White was forced to continue at right-back due to Takehiro Tomiyasu’s injury absence.
      However, Arteta decided to start the 27-year-old on the bench against Chelsea as he opted for January signing Jakub Kiwior instead.
      And speaking on Premier league Productions, Wright feels that the Englishman has been hard done to.

      Arsenal’s former record goalscorer, who won the league and cup double with them in 1998, said: “I think [Arteta] has been a bit unfair on Rob Holding.
      “He is somebody who hasn’t had a lot of minutes. He was someone who came in to replace William Saliba – and he is fantastic.

      “Yes, in certain instances, Rob has been done for pace. We have seen him isolated and it has caused a bit of a problem.”
      Kiwior’s outing was his first start in the Premier League with the ex-Spezia ace twice coming off the bench since his arrival.

      Arsenal learn Moises Caicedo price as fans complain transfer will cost ‘almost as much as Bellingham’

      ARSENAL have learned how much they will need to pay in order to land Moises Caicedo after Brighton reportedly named their asking price. Caicedo, who starred in Brighton’s 1-0 win over Manchester United, was the subject of a £70million bid from the Gunners in the January transfer window.

      However, the Seagulls rejected this offer and Caicedo has remained a key part of Roberto de Zerbi’s set-up on the south coast after signing a new long-term contract running to 2027.
      But now Brighton have named their asking price for any potential suitors for the midfielder.
      According to Sky Sports, they will expect offers “well in excess” of the £70m offer submitted by Arsenal in January.
      The report adds that Brighton will not stand in the 21-year-old’s way if a suitable bid is arrives this summer.

      Arsenal have retained their interest in Caicedo, with the Ecuador international reportedly one of the top names on Mikel Arteta’s six-man summer shopping list.
      Caicedo’s strong form this season has also piqued the interest of clubs such as Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea.
      Reacting to the news online, one Twitter user said: “Bellingham won’t go for much more than that.
      “Good player but I’d be disappointed if we paid that for him after saying Jude was too expensive.”

      Apart from two loan spells, Nelson has spent his entire career at Arsenal but now appears to be weighing up his future.
      Well-connected football journalist Fabrizio Romano reports the star has knocked back Arsenal’s attempts to sign him up to a new deal.
      The transfer guru adds that negotiations are still ongoing as Arsenal look to cling on to the midfielder.
      But clubs from England including Brighton and some sides from abroad are believed to be monitoring the situation closely.

      Nelson will be available for free for any interested parties and at 23 still has plenty of years ahead of him.
      While he has struggled for first-team football in North London, his loan moves to Hoffenheim in 2018-19 and Feyenoord last season both showed positive signs.
      But he has made only eight Premier League appearances for Arsenal this season as Mikel Arteta opted for a very consistent line-up.
      Within those eight outings he has got an impressive three goals and two assists, including scoring arguably the most dramatic strike of Arsenal’s entire campaign.

      The centre-back played 22 times for the Gunners after joining, initially on loan, from Flamengo in January 2020.
      He spent the second half of last season on loan at Udinese, playing 15 times for the Bianconeri.

      Mari then signed for newly-promoted Monza on an initial loan deal last summer.
      He has played 25 times in Serie A this term, having recovered from a serious injury sustained in a horrifying knife attack in October.
      The defender was attacked while shopping at a supermarket alongside his family.
      Mari was one of a number of victims to be airlifted to hospital after being stabbed by a knife-wielding attacker – while a 30-year-old supermarket worker died of their injuries.
