#ArtetaOut trending ALREADY as Arsenal fans rage after calamitous loss to Hibs in pre-season opener

ANGRY Gooners had #ArtetaOut trending by half-time as Arsenal lost their opening game of pre-season to Hibs. The Gunners were beaten 2-1 in Scotland with Emile Smith Rowe pulling one back with ten minutes to go.

Manager Arteta fielded only TWO non-first team players, keeper Arthur Okonkwo and centre-back Harry Clarke.
Okonkwo suffered a disastrous start to the game as he missed Cedric Soares’ poor back pass after only 21 minutes.
Martin Boyle went in to finish it off following the stopper’s mistake and sub Daniel MacKay then made it 2-0 on 69 minutes.
After Smith Rowe’s consolation, some Arsenal fans were left fuming and took their anger out on Spaniard Arteta.
One tweeted: “Conte is still available, I don’t think trusting Arteta with signings is a good idea, he will surely be a great manager but he still needs experience #Artetaout.”
Another posted: “Of course it ends in defeat, players know it’s the only way to get #ArtetaOut.”
    One wrote: “It’s about that time… #ArtetaOut.”
Another tweeted: “First game of preseason and #ArtetaOut is trending. Some things never change.”

Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Willian, Alexandre Lacazette, Nicolas Pepe and Hector Bellerin were among the experienced players to have featured in the loss.
And while some supporters vented their anger towards Arteta, others were quick to remember it is only a friendly.
One tweeted: “Can’t believe people are getting worked up over a pre season friendly no point in even watching it, only for fitness anyway.”
Another tweeted: “pre season and people are already trending that nonsense, Arteta’s here to stay lads, chill.”
One argued: “Chill guys it’s just pre season friendly, arteta is just getting to know the players staying and the ones leaving.”

Hector Bellerin hints at Arsenal stay as right-back travels with squad for pre-season tour of Scotland

HECTOR BELLERIN was pictured travelling to Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Scotland amid his uncertain future. The right-back is believed to be open to a move away from Arsenal after eight years with the club, who he joined at youth level.

Inter Milan and PSG are among those linked with him, while manager Mikel Arteta looks set to raise funds this summer by selling unwanted players.
But for now, Bellerin will feature in Arsenal’s pre-season preparations, where they play Hibs tomorrow night.
The defender is part of the 30-man squad that travelled to Scotland.
Despite looking to clear out their squad, Arsenal have received hardly any bids so far.
William Saliba will join Marseille on a season’s loan, having spent the last year with Nice.
Ahead of his move, it means the £27million centre-half will spend a third year away from Arsenal without ever kicking a ball for the club.
He will team up with Matteo Guendouzi, who has also signed for Marseille on loan with a £10m permanent move guaranteed next summer.
Arsenal have already spent £7m on full-back Nuno Tavares from Benfica.

Belgian midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga is currently completing his isolation period before sealing his £17m move from Anderlecht.
Arsenal also remain optimistic of concluding a £50m deal for Brighton defender Ben White, although the clubs continue to haggle over the proposed payment schedules.
Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is another key target despite a £20m asking price for a player who has twice been relegated from the Premier League in the last two seasons.

Why William Saliba has not worked out at Arsenal – but third loan transfer could be best for both parties

SO MUCH has been written about the young Frenchman William Saliba, that I will inevitably be covering old ground to some degree. However, I have been asked for my thoughts in this week’s Fan’s View, on the news that the central defender will again be sent out on loan by Arsenal for a third campaign.

Despite what our fanbase believes about his readiness after half a season of plaudits in Ligue 1, it is Mikel Arteta’s view that is the only opinion that is of importance, whether you as an individual believe in him or not.
Arteta and his staff will have watched Saliba to decide his attributes and strengths are still not ready for the pace and physicality of the Premier League.
A season-long loan, and a full season at a top club competing in Europe, will hopefully gain him the minutes needed to convince Arsenal.
However, it is a great shame that those minutes are not to be in the league in which we all hope he can perform for Arsenal.
It appears the player has opted for France, but I wish his parent club has stood firm and insisted on a domestic loan.
One thing I feel strongly about is that, as fans, we need to ignore the price tag.
There seems little doubt that the previous regime (not this one) overspent on Saliba, particularly when you look at other high-profile defender transfers in the summer of 2019.
It is hard, on the back of so many recent decisions that have proved costly, but we must accept it is not our money and hope it does not impact our ability to bring in new signings to help us in 2021/22.

Even if Saliba does prove to be the generational talent many believe he might be, he is not going to be helped by being thrown into the Arsenal first-team alongside another youngster – and there are literally no 20-year-old centre-backs thriving at top clubs in our league.
His position is strenuous and physically demanding, and it requires optimum concentration.
The physical ability is not fully there at 20 and the concentration comes with experience. Saliba has literally years ahead of him.
If Arteta had backed Saliba to play a key role in the first-team this season he would have joined several other youngsters already given key roles by the Spaniard.
I don’t entirely agree with Alan Hansen, that you cannot win anything with kids, but I do believe that youth has to be blended with older heads.
Saliba might have tipped the balance too far towards exciting youth for this coming campaign.

This is why adding the likes of Ben White (we hope) alongside Gabriel adds Premier League-ready talent to an already improved defence.
Rob Holding and Pablo Mari as first reserves are both experienced and, with David Luiz leaving, that is important.
If Saliba, as we all hope, has another successful season, he and Arsenal are still in a good position in the summer of 2022.
His value having played in Europe will be high if Arsenal decide there is still no room in the squad, or he will be ready to step into the first-team setup and play for the team he supported as a boy.

Matteo Guendouzi announces Arsenal exit in emotional now-deleted tweet as bad-boy closes in on Marseille transfer

MATTEO GUENDOUZI has announced he will leave Arsenal in an emotional tweet. Guendouzi spent last season on loan at Hertha Berlin in Germany after falling out of favour with Gunners boss Mikel Arteta.

He is now closing in on a move to Marseille in his homeland of France having recently posed with a flag of the Ligue 1 side.
Confirming his Arsenal exit, Guendouzi, 22, told fans in now-deleted tweets: “I will never forget the Emirates Stadium.
“I will never forget the fans. I won’t forget the city. I will never forget everything I’ve been through here.
“I will never forget that my only will was to defend with pride Arsenal colors.
    Matteo Guendouzi’s now-deleted tweets
“Thanks to all of those who believed in me during my time here, during the good and the bad moments.
“I can only wish the best to the club and its fans who deserve so much, trust me! Good bye Arsenal, I will never forget and will be a gooner forever.”
The midfielder is set to be joined by defender William Saliba, who will join Marseille on loan.
Guendouzi’s Arsenal woes started when he grabbed Neal Maupay’s throat and sparked a brawl in June 2020 during their 2-1 loss.

He is said to have even boasted about earning more than the Seagulls striker and spent the remainder of the season benched.
Guendouzi and Arteta then reportedly had a bust-up while away on a training camp in Dubai.
That led to a departure last season with Guendouzi joining Hertha Berlin temporarily, making 24 appearances.
He has been available for transfer since with the Gunners setting his asking price at around £8.6million this summer.

Liverpool ‘very interested’ in transfer swoop for Portugal’s ex-Swansea flop Renato Sanches with ‘Lille ready to sell’

LIVERPOOL are keeping tabs on Renato Sanches and Lille are open to selling the midfielder, reports suggest.Sanches stood out for the Ligue 1 outfit and played a major role in their shock championship triumph last season.
Lille and Portugal star Renato Sanches has been linked with a move to Liverpool
The 23-year-old also shone bright during Euro 2020 with Portugal and has reintroduced himself to the world stage following a hapless stint at Bayern Munich, which included a disastrous loan spell at Swansea.
However, the midfielder’s recent performances have proven he has put the past behind him and is currently attracting interest from a host of Europe’s top bidders.
According to L’Equipe, Liverpool are among the clubs who are “very interested” in the Portugal international.
The same source suggests that Arsenal have joined the bidding war as manager Mikel Arteta is looking for someone to team up with Thomas Partey in the middle.
This comes after Goal reported that Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has drawn a list of potential midfield targets, which includes Sanches as well as Borussia Monchengladbach’s Florian Neuhaus, Aston Villa’s John McGinn, Brighton’s Yves Bissouma and Ajax’s Ryan Gravenberch.
Lille are reportedly ready to sell the Portuguese ace as they are looking to ‘reduce their workforce’.
That is why they sold Boubakary Soumare to Leicester, Mike Maignan to AC Milan, Rominigue Kouame to Troyes and Adama Soumaoro to Bologna, while Jose Fonte was released.
However, the French champions have proven in the past that they know how to get a large sum for their best players.

They saw Victor Osimhen move to Napoli for £69.8million and Nicolas Pepe joining Arsenal on a record £72m in the last two summer windows.
Lille also sold Bissouma and Gunners ace Gabriel Magalhaes for £15.7m and £23.1m respectively.
The same is expected to happen with Sanches, who could get the opportunity to come back to the Premier League and make up for his woeful stint at Swansea where he only managed 15 appearances.
