MARTIN ODEGAARD was branded ‘cheeky’ by a flabbergasted Michael Dawson after having the ‘audacity’ to perform an insane dummy against Brentford.The playmaker, 23, was in top form today as Arsenal got revenge over the Bees with a 2-1 win at the Emirates.

Odegaard played the full 90 minutes in the No10 role vacated a year ago by Mesut Ozil.
And he was at the heart of each Arsenal attacking move, delighting fans with his wizardry on the ball.
However, even Tottenham icon Dawson had to admit that one particular piece of skill was out of this world.
With just moments before half-time, defender Cedric played a sharp pass down the right flank towards an oncoming Odegaard.
However, instead of receiving the ball into feet, the Norwegian swept his foot over the ball, tricking Brentford’s press and allowing Arsenal to counter further up the field.
The dummy was met with widespread praise as Sky Sports pundit and ex-Spurs star Dawson gasped: “The audacity and cheek of him is incredible.”

Arsenal fuming over failed Dusan Vlahovic transfer as agent lifts lid on why Juventus star rejected Mikel Arteta

ARSENAL have been left ‘angry’ after it was revealed that Dusan Vlahovic’s representatives sabotaged a potential move to North London.The Gunners made several bids for Vlahovic throughout January whilst Fiorentina were keen on selling.

They initially opened talks with an offer of around £50million, which was later rejected.
Arsenal were also keen on using Lucas Torreira in the deal, swapping his loan move for a permanent transfer to the Italian side.
However, Juventus were the ones to secure a deal, signing the striker for £62million and leaving Mikel Arteta very frustrated.
It has now been revealed that Vlahovic and his agents were pushing for a move to Juventus all along.
According to Torreira’s agent, Pablo Bentancur, the Gunners are furious about the situation.
When speaking to Sport890, he said: “Now, Arsenal are a bit angry because they wanted Vlahovic.

And he is likely to be back on the bench for today’s home game against Brentford despite Gabriel Martinelli being suspended.
But Arteta refuses to write off the Ivorian, 26, and believes he has seen an improved attitude from the player since he returned from the recent Africa Cup of Nations.
Gunners boss Arteta said: “We have a really small squad and we need Nico at his best because hopefully he has understood that I want to play him.
“I don’t want to have a player like him sitting on the bench and not using him because this is the moment when I can give him a chance.
“But since he has come back from Afcon, I have seen a different Nico in his attitude, his smile, his energy and the way he is communicating.

KIERAN TIERNEY showed no signs of flinching in Storm Eunice as he trained in just a T-shirt and shorts.The Arsenal left-back donned his traditional extreme-weather gear despite gusts of more than 100mph battering the UK.

And Martinelli’s fellow 18-year-old Omari Hutchinson has been promoted to first-team training this week.
Gunners’ boss Mikel Arteta has ruled out catching Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea.
But the Spaniard has stressed how important to finish best of the rest.
He said: “For the best teams that win and play in the Champions League, that’s a non-negotiable.”
Arteta added: “Our creative attacking play has improved, but more has to improve. Our efficiency in front of goal must improve.”

That is SEVEN more than the next club to them in the disciplinary table.
The forward received two bookings in the space of five seconds and is suspended for the clash with Brentford tomorrow.
Arteta has revealed that he has not spoken to the PGMOL about the decisions they feel have gone against them – but admitted discussions would happen shortly.
Although he insists that they need to look at themselves rather than the officials to clean up their act.
ON the PGMOL talks, Arteta said: “Not yet. That’s happening soon but obviously we have reported the opinion and the lack of understanding of the decision.”

Arteta reminded his players that they cannot continue collecting reds and hopes they have not earned themselves a reputation for being ill-disciplined.
He added: “I don’t want to think like that.
“There have been various reasons, very different ones the way we picked up those red cards but somehow we have to stop it because it’s going to affect your performance and results for sure and that has to be our aim and our focus.
“Don’t try to blame the refs. We have to believe the refs are going to do what they have to do and we have to do what we have to do and that’s it.”
However, Arteta did admit he still had not changed his view that the Martinelli incident did not warrant a sending-off.
“I have so many videos that people have sent me [from] over the years with different actions and how it happened.
“I gave my opinion at the end of the match and there is nothing we can do about it now.”

They are also left with just Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette, both out of contract in June, as forwards after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was allowed to leave for nothing to join Barcelona.
The former captain was one of five departures from Arsenal to leave Mikel Arteta’s squad thin as he attempts to guide them to a top four finish.
However, Venkatesham insists that the Gunners were active in the transfer market but decided that they should not take any risks.
And he did promise supporters and the manager that there would be player investment in the summer.
Ventakesham spoke at an Arsenal Fans’ Forum this week and revealed that both permanent and loan deals were discussed last month.
But he claimed that no players that could make a difference were available and that the club are comfortable with their current playing squad, according to supporters present at the forum.

ARSENAL have received a huge injury boost as Takehiro Tomiyasu stepped up his training ahead of his eagerly awaited return from injury.The 23-year-old moved to the Emirates from Bologna last summer and quickly became a key man under Mikel Arteta.

The right-back impressed in his first 17 appearances for the Gunners until he was hurt last month.
The Japanese international initially suffered a calf problem against Leeds United back in December.
He attempted to play through the pain barrier to help Arsenal in their Carabao Cup semi final second-leg against Liverpool but has not featured since that defeat.
He missed the goalless draw with Burnley and last week’s win at Wolves for his club in the Premier League.
And he was also ruled out for Japan’s recent World Cup qualifiers with China and Saudi Arabia.
Now Arteta is hoping that Tomiyasu could return to action this weekend when Brentford head across the capital to North London.
